Chapter 55

I’m so thankful that everyone appreciated my efforts to get stronger and better. I know that, as a human, I am a potential liability to everyone, especially when the pack is facing a threat. A vampire was about to wage battle against the werewolves and my mate along with his siblings would end it, of course, with the help of the pack and other allied packs.

Every day, all I think about is the things that I will be able to do to help Aziz. I want him to know and feel that I am here for him and his pack. I may be a human, but as I accept my fate, I decided to go all out. Since I am a Luna, I will do everything and anything in my power to be of help to everyone. This is my lifetime commitment to them and my mate. I will make them feel that I am here for them and will fight along with them.

Today should have been another day of intense training, but Carter said that he had something to do, so he let me take another rest. But I think Aziz would be and is always busy in his office with pack and company business. One thing I liked about the pack was it had a lot of places I could go to learn. If I want to sharpen my thinking and acquire knowledge about vampires and werewolves, I will just go to the library not too far from the preschool, where I am on my way now, and, of course, the gym, training hall, training ground is my go-to place if I want to strengthen physically.

I was almost at the library when a group of kids approached me, “Lina!!” they all yelled. I looked at them, smiling. It was still early and, as far as I know, school starts at 10 in the preschool. Why are they here?

“Slowly,” I said when one of them tripped and almost fell on the ground if I was a little late in catching her. “Now, why are you all running and where are you going?” I asked when they were all in front of me. Then I saw an omega coming for them.

“I’m sorry Luna, their mothers were busy and I was the one who looked after them.” the omega replied,

“It’s fine,” I replied and looked at the children again. “Where are you all going?” I asked,

“We want to play with you, Luna,” they all answered.

“What kind of play?” I asked, curiously. I remember as a kid, I was very playful. I always visit my friends' homes and we will go to the park or playground and play to our hearts' content.

“Hide and seek, Luna!!!” they all yelled. I look at the omega motioning me not to agree. They must have something to do, so I smiled at them and said,

“I don’t think that’s a good idea now. Luna needs to go to the library and has a lot of things to do. Will you forgive me? I promise to play with you this weekend though.”

“Does Luna know that we have class?” one of the kids asked, so I smiled and nodded before I looked at the omega who was now smiling as well.

“Are you going to play with us?” the other one asked,

“Of course! I already promised, right?" I replied,

“Yehey!!!” They cheered, “Luna is going to play with us,” they added.

“Alright, so you better go to the center so you can have your breakfast and prepare for school.” the omega said, and they all ran in the opposite direction. “Thank you very much, Luna, but I had to warn you that they will be coming after you this weekend.”

“It’s OK, no problem. I am going to tell Carter to cancel my training.” I replied.

“Thank you very much, Luna,” she said before she excused herself to follow the children while I went to the library. I need to learn more about vampires if I want to do something to help. My fighting skills alone won’t be sufficient, since they are a lot stronger and faster than me.

The librarian welcomed me and helped me with the books and references that I would be needing for the topic that I wanted to know. I was engrossed in my readings when Aziz suddenly appeared before me. “Oh, goddess!” I exclaimed,

“What are you reading that you are so serious and didn’t notice me approaching?” he asked and looked at the book I was holding. “Why are you reading that?” he asked again,

“I want to know more about them. Their weakness and strength. How are we able to fight them, especially me who is weaker than them? What are the things that I need to do and consider when I face them?”

“You are not going to fight them alone, woman,” he replied.

“I know, but we cannot take the possibility that they will come for me or any of your siblings. Hera could avoid them since she could read their minds, and Athena and Lexis could fight and are on par with their power, strength and speed. What about me? I am only human and more of a liability than an asset to you and the pack.”

We never thought of you like that. You are our Luna who gives us strength. You might not know this, but the moment you accepted me and I marked you, you were able to strengthen the pack with the bond that formed between you and the members. Especially after Luna's ceremony,” he explained.

“But still, I want to do something that will help me when facing any of them. I can’t always rely on you and others. What if you were busy or were fighting, what am I going to do?” I replied, “This is my way of not only protecting you and the pack but also protecting myself. I had to buy some time before my help arrived, right?” He smiled and kissed me on my forehead.

“You are acting like a real Luna. Even as a human, it comes naturally to you. This is your fate, your destiny. You are bound to be mated with me and become the Luna of the pack.”

“Thank you for continuously boosting my confidence,” I said,

“I am not boosting it, I am telling you what’s true,” he replied. We were looking at each other, smiling like an idiot when he remembers something.

“Before I forgot, I came here to get you.”

“Why?” I asked, confused.

“Let’s date,” he replied and I was stunned. I didn’t know that wolves date too.
