Chapter 44
Mel.
He knows he did something wrong, something he shouldn't have.
If he's dead, I will burn this entire kingdom to the ground with my bare hands. I will be the ruin of this pathetic kind instead of their saviour.
I will skin this old man alive, and have him suffer until he can't anymore.
I hold eye contact with him as more tears leak.
My tears turn to blaze as soon as they touch the floor. Also, the strength and fire in my veins are noticeable.
She's back.
My wolf is back. She's here for this old beast and to finally fulfil her destiny. She came back to protect our mate. Our Aiden.
She's back stronger than before, and she didn't have to wait for the witch to set her free this time.
My hair loosens up and starts glowing and moving to all directions. I can feel my eyes glowing too and unlike the last time, my wolf and I are both in control.
She's giving me a chance to do this the right way, and not wipe everything out like the other day.
She wants to give the innocent wolves a chance to redeem themselves.

The room becomes so bright like the sun just descended here.
"Fuck" he cusses looking around him and back at me in panic. Is he looking for his witches? or perhaps his soldiers?
The man looks amazed by the sight of my transformation.
I guess he killed my people with no idea what silver wolves look like.
Too bad, it's the last sight he'll see before joining hell.
"You wouldn't have touched him," I say lowly but my voice comes out so loud that it almost startles me.
I don't miss the horror look on the Kings face.
Damn Mel.
It makes the room shake and the guards immediately fall on their knees, exposing their necks to me.
To think they've been dragging us around like useless rags minutes ago.
My voice is unrecognisable, more like a loud roar. It's like angry thunder during a heavy downpour.
And that's exactly how am feeling.
Anger.
So much resentment for this old wolf.
He killed my birth mother.
He touched my mate.
He beheaded Jake.
He turned my friend against me.
He had the woman who raised me raped and tortured.
He's holding defenseless women and kids hostage.
For what?
The man disappears in the thin air and I chuckle.
I will surely give him the chase he wants, but first;
I look at my mum's direction and to my awe, the chains holding her loosen on their own.
Her wounds start healing and I smile when her skin goes back to radiant, like it should.
"Oh honey," she cries in joy running towards me but a strong pull pushes her stumbling back.
"Sorry" mumble looking at Ty and the same thing happens to him.
My poor brother is still sad about his mum's betrayal and death.
"Help the women and kids out of here, and also find a car. We are going home after this" I instruct and they quickly nod heading out.
The guards are still on the floor and I ignore them. I want them to decide on which side they're gonna be in the fight.
Today everyone is choosing their own fate.
Follow the king and die, or do the right thing and go back home.
I approach my mate and it hurts me to learn that I caused him pain.
I sit next to him and place his head on my lap. My palms are glowing and it only takes my touch to wake him up.
"Babe" I mumble in a soft voice.
Aiden quickly sits up and frantically looks around in confusion, until his eyes land on me.
My poor mate looks like he suffered a lot from my absence.
He has dark circles around his tired eyes. His hair is unkempt and his lips are almost cracking from its dryness.
His clothes are dirty and untidy.
I love him, no matter what the situation is, he'll always be mine and I will jump in the fire for him without hesitation.
I will fight anyone and the whole world to have him.
"Mel?" his voice cracks as he stares at me with teary, unbelieving eyes.
"Am here" I mumble and he immediately lifts me from the ground and sits me onto his lap.
"I am sorry babe, I caused this" I mumble holding his face in my palms and he rapidly shakes his head in denial.
"No, baby. Am sorry I wasn't there to protect you, I have been through shit, I thought I lost you" Aiden says in one breath wiping away the tears I didn't know I was releasing.
I missed him so much.
"I love you okay? let's end this and go home" I tell him lifting myself up from his lap but he drags me back down.
'It's time Mel' the voice I have been yearning to hear for the last three days sounds in my head and I sigh.
I look at Aiden and he looks like he's about to cry.
I want this to end already. Everything is stressing him out and I hate it.
Before I could ask him anything, he crashes his lips on mine and kisses me hard.
The kiss is bruising and rough, this is unlike him but either way, I take it with the same energy.
I break away when I remember what Athena just said and my mate reluctantly lets me go.
"I love you so much," he says in a very soft tone as looks at me fondly.
"Go and release the prisoners, I will handle the old man okay?" I get up and he quickly grabs my hand again.
"Am coming with you, I can't let you go there alone" he sounds worried.
'Don't get distracted Mel, the king has assembled his army, It's time Athena says again, this time sounding impatient.
"Where is my dad?"
"He'll be here any minute with the others," he says holding my hand tightly like I will vanish if he let go.
I guess the light isn't affecting him because he's my mate.
Aiden won't leave me alone so to save time, I walk to the table holding the weapons. I grab two guns and three knives before handing them to him.
Nothing will happen to him under my watch but I can't let him walk out there without arming himself.
That guard said the guns contain silver bullets. So they can harm a wolf a great deal.
I learnt wolfsbane and silver are poisonous to wolves. No doubt most of these weapons are made with them.
"You stay beside me, okay?" I tell him pecking his lips.
"I will, be careful too" he whispers kissing my head.
Whoever is up there, no matter what happens today, keep my family safe.
Keep Aiden safe even if I don't make it.
I mumble a short prayer before taking my mate's hands.
Time to fight.
