Chapter 30

We were in the middle of identifying my powers when I sported Athena, and I was still wondering if I only can see her when I felt it.
My wolf became restless and she kept vocalizing the word mate. I thought it was because she longed to meet him but no, it was entirely something else.
She took control and ran with inhuman speed in an unknown direction making me comprehend one thing.
My mate was in danger.
True to my assumption, he was and if I arrived any second later that woman could have killed him. He could have killed Aiden.
I have never felt relief in my life the way I felt when I embraced him. This is not just love, it's something bigger, it's scary and beautiful at the same time.
Aiden is literally my other half because I can feel what he feels. His emotions are mine too and that makes him top the list of my priorities.
He's mine to protect and to love.
He's about to kiss me when dad arrives roughened up. I stare at him in shock wondering what hole he crawled from until he mentions my aunt is missing.
"What do you mean mum is missing?" I ask softly taking slow steps toward him.
By now his wounds are healed and his breaths are back to normal. He looks like he just fought a hundred wolves.
"The witches overpowered me and took her. They said they will take her to the king and I will only have her if you surrender to him" he says breathlessly his eyes holding defeat.
Fuck, Athena was right after all. They have started targeting my family.
"No" Aiden growls out holding on to my waist protectively "My mate is not going anywhere that monster, Gabriel " he glares at my father who only sighs looking at his muddy shoes.
"Of course, she's not Aiden, we have to find a way of bringing her back because that man is very impatient" dad whispers stressfuly and I feel bad.
Am causing this, am the reason they took her.
"I can't lose anyone else," he murmurs sadly looking at me and I avoid his gaze.
I feel guilty. Why did they have to choose me of all the people? I loved being human, going to school, working and going back home with my guards.
Geez, I will even choose my OCDs over this. Thinking about it, I haven't felt disgusted with anything so far, starting with the jacket am wearing.
Before I couldn't wear someone else clothes and be comfortable. I guess my wolf came with new beginnings.
Athena said the alpha king will start by targeting people that are close to me, today Aiden almost died and they already have the woman who raised me.
I need to do something, I need to train and talk to Athena, she must know where they took her.
"We will get her back dad" I clear the distance between us and give him a comforting hug.
The man lost everything he called family and I won't allow him to go through that pain again.
I will do everything to make sure no one else suffers. I just have to pay attention to the witch and Athena.
He holds me right like he doesn't believe am here. Dad buries his face in my neck and lifts his head after a while.
"Am glad you are okay sweetheart" he whispers kissing my hair.
He has made a lot of sacrifices to keep me safe and I appreciate him for that. It means he cares.
"There you are, you just disappeared" I look behind me at the arriving man who saved me and smile a little.
"I can see you finally found us Gabriel" he smiles walking to my father and I detach from him.
"I was hoping I would never see you again Tony" my father grumbles making Tony laugh.
Tony?
I walk back to Aiden who is still naked and embrace him again.
His body is so warm and I sigh when he wraps his strong arms around me with his large fingers splayed across my skin.
"I missed you" I whisper into his neck and his body shivers. I love the way I affect him, it only means no other woman can have him but me.
He only belongs to me.
"Me too baby, I love you" he whispers in my ear and I pull back to look into his eyes in awe.
He loves me. OMG! Aiden loves me! This amazing man loves me!
Aiden looks at me affectionately and he lifts his hand to trace my trembling lower lip. I feel my eyes water and am sure they hold the same emotion as his.
I swear my heart is about to escape my rib cage.
"I love you so much Mel and I don't know what I will do without you" he brings the other arm and cups my cheeks while he stares at me intently.
"You make me happy, you are the reason I fight to live every day. Please promise me something" he whispers his eyes lingering from my eyes to my lips and I do the same.
Please kiss me
"What?" I ask breathlessly holding onto his arms because my knees suddenly became weak. This is so different from how Jake professed to me.
" Promise you'll never leave me again" his eyes are begging and he's allowing me to see the vulnerability in them.
Am not sure of the future and I am not aware of the sacrifices I will have to make. But to ease his worry, I promise not to leave him, hopefully not willingly.
"I won't baby, I love you so much too Aiden," I tell him sincerely my voice cracking in the process. Aiden's eyes widen a little and he captures my lips with his instantly.
The kiss is full of emotions, unlike the ones we shared. He's trying to tell me something and I do the same. I pour my everything into the kiss letting him know how special he is to me.
I want him to know how much he means and also assure him that I will always be here for him.
To assure him that I will always love him.
I have to fight really hard for everything. Our happy ending lies solely in my hands and if I want to have that baby boy with Aiden, I have to make sure the king dies.
It won't be easy and it scares me but I have to look beyond that.
When Aiden breaks the kiss, he gives me a breathtaking kiss which I return.
He's so gorgeous.
"Alright kids, that is enough bonding, we need to go," Tony says and Aiden growls making me laugh at him.
"You need clothes son" my father reminds Aiden who only glares.
He seriously needs them though, he has no idea how much am holding myself not to think about naughty stuff in front of my father.
Humans will never comfortably stand bare amid others. Werewolves are very weird and I can't imagine myself naked while people watch me.
Am never adapting to that.
'It's not safe here anymore Mel, we need to go back home' a familiar voice says in my head and I look around before spotting Athena.
Am now convinced am the only one who can see her.
Is she a spirit or something?
'What about the training ?' I whisper in my mind and it feels awkward.
'I will tell you what to do, right now we have to go. The witches are gathering and you haven't trained yet, they will overpower you and you don't want your mate dying, do you?'
Fuck you woman, she always uses my mate to get me to agree to her demands.
