Chapter-7 First Class Embarrassment!

VALERIE'S POV

"And just like a queen, I am going to win, and when everything is over, I am going to binge-watching," I randomly sang whatever words came to my mind while I walked to the canteen to get my share of a good meal.

Huh. It's been so long since I have felt like this. This sense of carefree living and not giving two damn about what is happening around you. It feels so surreal.

'You say this practically every day,' Adele burst my happy bubble like always, and I scowled at her.

"Whatever. This is my mantra for happy living," I huffed and walked to the counter before ordering my favorite meal course.

"Valerie! Over here!" I turned to my group of human friends, waving at me madly, making me grin at their enthusiasm.

It's been a couple of weeks since I transferred here from my last college on the council's recommendation under the student-exchange program. And apart from meeting that handsome and powerful alpha, everything has been going great for me.

I should really thank Logan for bringing me here and introducing me to such nice people. He was the one who handled my admission and my job in the cafe.

Honestly, it's so sad that he doesn't have a mate. If he had one, she would've been the happiest girl on earth. Even if my faith in the wolves was taken away by my ex-pack, it's all thanks to Logan that I don't hate all werewolves completely.

He came into my life like a boon, and I hope it stays that way.

"What took you so long? I thought you wouldn't come," Eve pouted as soon as I sat.

"I was completing my assignment. I forgot to do it last night and had to submit it today. You have no idea how fast I wrote to get it on time before the professor left. Then I copied my notes," I copied her expression, and Eve immediately took my hand in hers.

"Here, let me massage your hands. You will feel better," She smiled like the innocent human she was, and my heart melted at her words.

"Nope. How can I let these pretty soft hands work on something so measly? I am not a sinner," I gazed into her eyes as she blushed.

"Can you stop flirting and let us eat in peace?" Monty made a gagging sound, and I rolled my eyes at him.

Jerk!

"You are just jealous that you are not the one getting to flirt with her," I scoffed at him, making him widen his eyes as he went back to eating to hide his red cheeks.

It is obvious to everyone that Monty likes Eve. However, he has zero guts to admit it.

Heck, he can't even come to terms with his feelings, let alone confess to Eve.

Taking a large bite of my sandwich, I scrunched my brows when I felt something weird.

It wasn't a smell or anything, but it felt like something was about to happen.

My intuition has always been top-notch. But what could go wrong? I am sure any rogue won't come here and cause a mess.

Alphas don't have enough time to roam these human Universities, and I don't think any other rank can take me down, so what can it be? I thought, taking another chunk of my sandwich.

"Will you join the cheerleading squad? I know you are here as an exchange program student, but you can have some fun while you are here, no?" Blue blinked at me pleadingly.

"Blue, I really respect your interest, and it breaks my heart to say no to you, but my idea of having fun is nowhere near dancing in front of a bunch of players without my wish," I looked at her sternly.

"It's okay. At least I tried," Blue whispered softly, and I scrunched my brows.

Come on. Don't make that face. Why do these girls not realize I can't see them sad like this?

"However, if you want to see me dance, I can do it here," I winked, and Blue raised her brows.

I hope she says no because I want to fill my stomach right now.

"Guys, Valerie is offering to dance. Is anyone interested?" Monty betrayed me, and everyone started to look at me in anticipation.

This Jerk again!

'Don't blame it on anyone. You brought this on yourself. Who told you to be such a softie for girls?' Adele scoffed at me, and I sighed.

"Fine. I will. Can anyone play the music?" I asked, and the canteen lady immediately started the music on her system, making me glare at her, who just grinned.

"A partner? Or partners?" I asked, and Brandon immediately stood with Blue, Eve, and Monty, making me sigh.

These people will not leave me without making me dance a few steps, right?

Closing my eyes, I tried to keep my embarrassment at bay before I took Blue's arms in mine and twirled her around, making her squeal as she placed her hand on her head to control her dizziness

"What? Did you think I am up for salsa?" I grinned when Blue widened her eyes.

"Just leave your tables and start dancing. Let loose," I closed my eyes before raising my hands in the air like I was in some kind of pub, and it wasn't long before more students started to join our tempo, copying our hand movements.

"Wwoohhooooo!" Monty shouted before he snaked his arms around my waist and danced a few salsa steps.

"Gather the courage. This is the right time," I said, and Monty nodded before twirling me away and grabbing Eve, who blushed hard.

Smiling at the happy environment, I sighed when Adele started to enjoy it with everyone. Happiness was really contagious. That's why I prefer living with humans. Though they are not as powerful as us werewolves, if you find the right group of people, they make your life bliss.

Twerking with Blue on the table, I jumped down when I felt the same uneasiness I was feeling earlier.

"Guys, the head teacher is approaching," Someone shouted from the entrance, and the song immediately stopped while everyone rushed to their tables before laughing out loud.

Everyone was happy but me. Why was this uneasiness not going? I shook my head before pausing when I smelt something that I didn't expect.

"You are really a happy pill, aren't you? How do you do this? You immediately brought these people together who don't even talk to each other. You are serious -" The rest of Monty's words drowned in the background when I looked at the person who entered the canteen with the head teacher.

His smell, appearance, aura, and power could not be forgotten so easily.

I have to get out of here before he notices me. I nodded at myself before getting down from the chair and moving towards the canteen counter so that I could get out from the back door.

"Valerie? What are you doing? Did you lose something?" Blue asked, and I closed my eyes helplessly when someone placed his hand on my shoulders. Judging from the powers, I knew who it was.

"You?" The alpha looked at me with raised brows, and I stood from my place.

"Mr. Grey eyes. What a pleasant surprise, no? Haha, do you study at this college too? What a coincidence!" I squealed uneasily, and I could see the suspicion in his eyes rising.

"So you study at this college?" He quirked his brows, and I looked at the head teacher.

If he said something, I would be done. My lie would be caught. I haven't done anything, but for some reason, my heart was telling me to hide my identity from him, and that's what I was doing.

'Stop acting like you really care about what this alpha thinks and get into your true form. The more you are cautious, the more this alpha will find us suspicious. Just me yourself,' Adele said, and for once, I agreed with her.

Maybe she was right. I was trying a little too hard to maintain that scared rogue facade, and it was giving this alpha more room to think I was hiding things from him.

Taking a deep breath, I looked at my human friends, who were looking at me with wide eyes, before looking back at the alpha.

They know that I am not someone who bows to anyone. I smiled at even and Blue to let them know everything was alright.

"Uhuh. I do," I sighed before looking into the Alpha's eyes with the same stare he was using at me.

"It was unexpected," He nodded before stepping towards me and tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, making my heart start to pound.

"Now you know why she never gave any face to any boys in the college. Who would want to date these boys when she has such a hunk at her whims?”

One of the girls commented at some distance.

I am sure she meant to whisper, but we are werewolves with heightened senses, for god's sake.

I am sure the alpha heard it too, and judging from his amused expression with raised brows, I know it was true.

Should I dig a hole and hide in it till this ends? Why would she say something like that? So embarrassing!!!

"Stop talking like my Valerie is someone less. What if this man is pestering her? Look at his physique. What if he is bullying her? Who wouldn't fall for this angel?" Brandon commented, and I pressed my lips into a thin line before looking at the alpha innocently.

'Believe me, I have no hand in this. I don't know what these people are talking about. I swear I am not spreading rumors about you,' I pouted to convey the message, and he stared at me for a few seconds before sighing and pinching the bridge of his nose.

"We will talk later about this matter," he said, and I sighed in relief.

Thank God. It will save me some face in front of my friends, and I would be able to think of a few ways to tackle this situation.

I danced happily in my mind, but my happiness was cut short when he stepped forward and cupped my cheeks.

"Let me talk to my friend here first," He bent to look into my eyes, and my breath hitched as I looked into his deep grey eyes.

Friend? What did he mean? Does that mean he wants to talk to me and deal with the teacher later? But why? He should just go and handle the important matters first.

Lub, dub, lub, dub, lub, dub.

I heard my own heartbeat in my ears as my gaze was fixated on his eyes.

Does this guy know how beautiful his eyes are and what powers they hold on the opposite gender?

"Is this your seat?" The alpha asked before sitting in my place.

"Come here," he said, and I sat on the side chair absentmindedly before taking Eve's juice to wet my dry throat.

"Not there, sweetheart. Here," The alphas suddenly said, and I spat the juice in my mouth before coughing violently, making everyone snigger as I hid my face behind my hair, embarrassed.

Was he out of his mind? I looked at him from the corner of my eyes, but the shameless person only grinned, making me want to shake his head open and see what the hell was he thinking.

"That's so cute!" Blue gushed, and I glared at the alpha.

And this is how my plan to stay as far as I could from him flew out of the window.

"You, come with me," I gritted my teeth before pulling him out of the canteen.

Something was definitely going on in his head, and I don't know if I wanted to know that.

"Why are we here?" Mr. Alpha lifted his left brow as he looked around, and I leaned on the table, looking straight into his enchanting grey eyes that felt like they get me under control every time I gaze into them.

"What is your deal?" I narrowed my eyes.
