Chapter 17

"It's Lark," came the reply, his voice tinged with urgency. "Please, open up. We need to talk."

My heart skipped a beat at the mention of Lark's name. What could he possibly want to discuss? And why was he accompanied by others? With a sense of trepidation, I made my way to the door, bracing myself for whatever awaited me on the other side.

I held on for a while when I remembered what I had on. I just had my lingerie on, I always felt sexy in it. I couldn't wear that out to see him.

"Please wait at the sitting room, I'll join you in minute" I said

I changed to a grey jogger and a black tank top, I looked at myself in the mirror and thought to myself, "This looks more decent". Now I had to face Lark, I heade to the sitting room.

As I stepped into the sitting room, I found myself face to face with not just Lark, but also Kellan, Zephyr, and Edward. Each of them wore expressions of concern and determination, their presence casting a weighty atmosphere over the room.

Damn!!!! What were they doing here. All of them at once. They all think I'm thier mate when I'm actually not because the feelings is not mutual yet they are normal........

"Sit down, Alaya," Kellan urged, his voice smooth and charismatic. "We need to talk."

I obliged, taking a seat amidst the group, my mind racing with apprehension. What could they possibly want to discuss that required all of them to be present?

"We've been doing some thinking, Alaya," Zephyr began, his voice enigmatic yet perceptive. "And we can't shake the feeling that you might be our mate."

I felt a surge of disbelief wash over me at his words. "But that's... impossible," I stammered, struggling to comprehend the implications of their revelation. "The Moon Goddess wouldn't lead you to the wrong one. And, why would she lead four of you to just me."

Lark leaned forward, his expression mischievous and light-hearted. "We know it sounds crazy," he admitted, a playful glint in his eyes. "But we can't ignore the connection we feel towards you."

Edward, ever the enigmatic one, spoke next, his voice tinged with complexity and intrigue. "We understand if you're hesitant," he said softly. "But we want you to know that our intentions are genuine."

I took a deep breath, trying to process the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me. "I appreciate your honesty," I replied, my voice steady despite the turmoil within. "But I don't love any of you romantically. And besides, I already have a Luna, even though we're not in love. I might actually find my one true mate someday, how do I handle this?"

A moment of silence descended upon the room as my words hung in the air, the weight of our conversation palpable. But then, a realization dawned on me, and a smile tugged at the corners of my lips.

"I have an idea," I announced, my voice filled with newfound determination. "Why don't we form a reverse harem? A group where we can support and care for each other, without the pressure of romantic expectations."

The room fell silent as my words sunk in, and then, slowly but surely, nods of agreement and understanding rippled through the group. It was a plan that felt right, a way for us to navigate the complexities of our relationships without sacrificing our individual desires and identities.

"I mean, first off it's so beautiful that you all aren't fighting over me though you all like me. I can't pick one out of you all and I most certainly don't have feelings for anyof you but I love you all with the love of friendship and family."

Kellan flashed a charming smile, his eyes alight with enthusiasm. "I like the sound of that," he declared, his charisma shining through. "A reverse harem where we can all support each other without the pressure of traditional relationships."

Zephyr nodded in agreement, his expression unreadable yet thoughtful. "It's a unique arrangement," he mused, his gaze flickering between each of us. "But perhaps it's exactly what we need."

Lark grinned mischievously, his playful demeanor breaking the tension in the room. "Count me in!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. "I've always been up for a little adventure."

"Oh wow, ever cheerful Lark" I said to myself.

Edward remained silent for a moment, his gaze fixed on me with a mixture of curiosity and contemplation. Then, with a nod of acceptance, he spoke softly. "I'm willing to give it a try," he admitted, his tone tinged with a hint of vulnerability.

As we sat together, the weight of our decision lifting from our shoulders, a sense of camaraderie and unity settled over us. We were no longer bound by the constraints of conventional relationships, but rather by the bonds of friendship and understanding.

With a renewed sense of purpose, we made plans to solidify our arrangement, to support each other in both the mundane and the extraordinary moments of life. And as we laughed and talked late into the night, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected connections that had brought us together.

In that moment, surrounded by my newfound harem, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together, united in our shared journey of discovery and companionship. And with that knowledge, I drifted off to sleep, filled with hope for the future and the endless possibilities that awaited us all.

As I woke up the next day, the events of the previous night flooded back to me with a sense of excitement and anticipation. I couldn't wait to share the news with Skai and see her reaction to the recent developments.

When Skai arrived to pick me up, I practically burst with excitement, eager to share the details of our new arrangement. As I recounted the events of the previous evening, Skai's eyes widened with pride, and she enveloped me in a tight hug.

"I'm so proud of you, Alaya," she exclaimed, her voice filled with admiration. "You handled the situation with grace and maturity."

Her words filled me with warmth, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of validation for the choices I had made. But as Skai pointed out, there was still one person I needed to tell – Dolphus.

I hesitated, knowing that Dolphus might not react favorably to the news. But Skai was insistent, reminding me of the importance of honesty and transparency within our pack.

Reluctantly, I agreed, knowing that I couldn't keep such a significant development from him. With a sense of apprehension, I made my way to Dolphus's quarters, steeling myself for his reaction.

As I entered his office, Dolphus glanced up from his work, his expression serious yet welcoming. "What can I do for you, Alaya?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.

I took a deep breath, summoning the courage to share the news. "Dolphus, there's something I need to tell you," I began, my voice steady despite the flutter of nerves in my stomach.

As I explained the situation, Dolphus's expression shifted from curiosity to concern. He listened intently, absorbing every word with a furrowed brow.

When I finished, there was a moment of silence as Dolphus processed the information. Then, to my surprise, he let out a deep sigh and shook his head

"I won't pretend to understand your decision, Alaya," he said finally, his tone measured yet tinged with disappointment. "But I trust that you have thought it through carefully."

I felt a pang of guilt at his reaction, knowing that I had likely disappointed him. But beneath the disappointment, there was also a glimmer of understanding and acceptance.

"Thank you, Dolphus," I replied, my voice soft with gratitude. "I appreciate your understanding, even if you don't agree with my choice."

With that, I left his office, a weight lifted from my shoulders. Despite the mixed reactions from those around me, I knew that I had made the right decision for myself and for my pack. And as I rejoined Skai, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for the future that lay ahead, filled with endless possibilities and newfound connections.
