Lesson
POV: Eloisa
Meeting my family was a headache, finding out that besides Elena I have to share my brothers' attention with other people irritates me.
I smile and talk to all of them the same way, if to get to all of my brothers I have to please these idiots, that's fine.
My grandmother hates me, no matter how much she talks to me I can tell that if she could she would send me away without thinking. What reassures me is that she won't be around for long.
I'm talking to Antoni about an update I need to make on my phone when Elena walks into the living room with Lorenzo.
Everyone turns to her and I can't help but roll my eyes.Grandpa stands up and walks over to her the same way he did to me.
They introduce themselves to each other, but unlike me, Grandpa is proud of her. It infuriates me.
How can she be better than me? What does she think she's doing?
I watch her interact with everyone else and I know she's just doing it out of obligation. As much as she doesn't want to show it, I can see the fear through her barriers.
Our parents made sure she understood what family meant. And I can proudly say she got the message.
I return to my conversation with Antoni and Giorgio who show me the updates available on my phone, I am amused when Lorenzo calls me.
"Eloisa, show your cousins where the game room or the pool area is," he says looking at Elena with a cold look.
I smile with satisfaction when I see that in less time than I thought she has already ruined everything.
I go out with the boys and do as Lorenzo asked.
Hours later, I am getting ready for dinner and I see Elena at the shooting range with some of my cousins and Sandro from my window.
My blood boils.
It takes all my self-control not to grab the things in my room and throw them against the wall.
I take a deep breath and make a plan.
I text Alana and tell her that Elena is driving me crazy and I need her help to teach her a lesson she will never forget.
Alana readily accepts and texts Sheila.
They ask me what I have in mind and I tell them what I want to do. Of course, in the middle of the story I add a little more to what Elena has been doing and in the end we have a plan.
It will all happen tomorrow at school and after that Elena will think very carefully before touching anything that is mine.
I finish getting ready and go downstairs to have dinner.
Grandma tells boring stories that make me sleepy, but I pretend to be excited.
I also watch my older cousins interacting with Elena, she seems to be their ray of sunshine.
But not for long. I will make sure of that.
When dinner is over, I say goodbye to everyone and go upstairs to sleep. Sandro and Luca accompany me to my room and hug me before leaving me there.
I'm tossing and turning in bed trying to sleep when I hear Elena's screams. Almost like magic, sleep comes and I
fall asleep listening to her screams like a sweet song.
