Chapter 43

I felt my blood run cold as I heard the woman by the other side.

“Emily” i said more to myself than to her.

“Oh, I believe cousin dearest ran with his tail in between his legs to meet you.”

“what are you doing with his phone?” i heaved in a deep breath, careful not to let my emotions slip. She could not have an upper hand over me that way.

“Oh honey, I told you. Ben would always come running back to me. Whether you want him to or not.” She laughed in mockery.

“YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME!!” I snapped, unable to hold it in anymore.

It only prompted her to laugh further. Before I could say what was on multiple mind. Elias took the phone from my hand, ending the call abruptly.

“you knew didn’t you” the look in his eyes told me all I needed to know. “Fuck you!!” i yelled, my headache coming back in massive length.

“Ally, i just wanted you to know..”

“don’t call me that! Don’t you dare! Fucking call me that!” i was panting at this point all i needed was just to lay down, rest my head and sleep, but that proved to be impossible since Elias wanted by all means wanted to make my life a living hell.

“Allison, look, I just wanted to help, if I was truly the bad person, I would have kept quiet. Its obvious where Ben is now. If you want him to come back to you, I would help you. You’re overwhelmed right now, so I’ll give you time to think it through” he left, closing the door softly leaving me with my thoughts.

I sighed. I couldn’t cry. I was either to hung over or too tired to cry.

I sat on the bed. I knew he was right. He didn’t mean anything wrong or at least I hoped he didn’t. But that didn’t mean I could easily be swayed. Or could I?

He was going to look for a way to. Get Ben back at my side.

I sighed, it was best to take a shower to calm my nerves and reduce my headache at this point.

The cold water on my skin felt like a relief I didn’t know I needed. I watched as the water cascaded down my skin. Going through hidden corners that could rarely be touched.

Touched.

The word rang in my head over and over. He had touched me, for a moment he made me feel loved and then he left, no trace of him, nothing.

I turned of the shower, the bath I was taking no longer feeling like a relief.

I tied a robe and went out, not caring how I looked at the moment.

I walked out of the room, the smell of pancakes and cinnamon wafted through the air.

“Now turn around.” I heard his laugh immediately after “good boy, have some” I walked in to see Elias playing with the dog Ben had gifted me two nights ago.

It took everything in me not to take the dog and throw it out of the house.

“Hey” he smiled at me, finally noticing that I was around him

I sat on the chair, looking at the plate. “You made this?” it wasn’t a question, the batter on his clothes was the give away.

“I hope you don’t mind. You just seemed like you needed something to eat, a warm break fast always help” I didn’t say anything to that, I just sat down, delving in to the warm goodness.

“Why do you want to help me so much?” I said when I had had enough to sate my craving for more. “I mean....” I didn’t know how to put it without sounding like a jerk. Buy I couldn’t put it past him to use it as a ridicule attempt.

“Must there be a reason?” he said feeding himself bits of the pancake and giving the dog some too.

“i need to know this isn’t some type of scheme that at the end of the day, I’m not being ridiculed not by you, not by Ben, and certainly not by that witch.

I sneered the last part out.

“You’ll have to trust me” he looked at me square in the eye “can you do that?”
