Chapter 12
Layla walked unsteadily like a poor former prisoner who hadn't seen the light of day for a long time. She felt that her body was dirty and smelly because since she was locked up in the dungeon, she had not showered or washed her face.
A guard accompanied her to a room she had never visited since she set foot in this mansion. Layla and the guard stopped in front of a large door and when the guard opened the door, Layla could see a very spacious and large room which had many sofas and a bar table.
Ten men and five women were in the room and two of the men were Lucien Schneider and his brother, Keith.
Lucien sat on a special sofa holding a Bengal cat and on the floor a large dog that looked more like a wolf sat firmly at his feet. Meanwhile Keith was standing next to Lucien holding a glass filled with expensive wine.
Everyone in this room turned their attention to Layla who came in her red dress which was torn and dirty. The women in the room looked at her sarcastically, some of them held back smiles and some of them whispered to each other while glancing at Layla who looked like she was homeless.
"Who let you in?" Keith immediately attacked her with questions that made her self-esteem plummet. She had no idea that she had to meet and talk directly to Lucien in a place like this. She just hoped they would meet together so she wouldn't have to feel so embarrassed like this.
"I-I didn't know that-"
"She's John Weisz's wife, isn't she? I remember I met her at a charity event two months ago." Said a blonde woman. She grinned like a disgusting vixen. Layla realized with a jolt that there was someone else here who knew her as John Weisz's wife.
Layla looked down, even though she felt annoyed, she tried to cover her embarrassment by remaining silent and lowering her face.
"You're right, I've also seen her in the theater. At that time she looked very intimate with her husband, I didn't expect that she ended up on the auction stage too." The other women started to pick up the sound, making Layla want to cry and scream even more.
She waited for Lucien Schneider's reaction, who seemed reluctant to say anything about her presence in this room, and she felt quite afraid to lift her face just to see Lucien's face, which still didn't move.
Meanwhile, Keith walked proudly towards Layla, occasionally taking a sip of the wine in his glass. It was clear that he was the most satisfied with this scene.
"Tramp are trying to beg the master for mercy, hmm? Why are you silent? Bow down and beg now!" He said. Layla, who was starting to get emotional, immediately looked at his face with her eyes starting to get wet.
She felt very embarrassed and angry, she didn't understand what really happened and who planned for her to be humiliated like this. But looking at Keith's behavior, it seemed like this was his idea.
"Why are you glaring? You're not happy, huh? Hahaha...stray cat, don't ever think you can become a expensive cat just because you wear geun and jewelry. You will always be a worthless dirty cat!"
"Hey Keith, you're going a little overboard!" Said a brown-haired man sitting calmly on the sofa.
"What? You just don't know what she did to me! She shot me, you damn thing!"
"It must all be because you bully her too much, I think it's best if you don't interfere too much in Lucien' affairs!"
"Tch, damn! Who are you to dare boss me around, bastard?"
"Hey you two, never mind!" Said a blonde man who was trying to break up the debate between the two men which was getting heated.
"He started it first!" Keith said.
"You don't interfere too much, you should just mind your own business!"
"What did you say? You want to fight with me? Do you think I'm afraid of you, Gavin?"
Realizing that a heated argument was increasingly unavoidable, Lucien, who had previously remained sitting calmly in his place, began to lose his patience.
"Keith, Gavin, stop it!" He said with one firm sentence which was able to make the two young men immediately fall silent and stop their argument.
"Tch, damn-" Keith, who was forced to stop, immediately went to the balcony to calm himself. Meanwhile, Layla felt that she had benefited a little from the fight between these two men she didn't know.
"Layla, go back to your room now! Wait until I come to your place. Do you understand?" Lucien said. Layla was shaking, but on the one hand she felt a little relieved because Lucien had finally decided something wise enough for her, instead of embarrassing her in front of many people like his crazy little brother had done.
"O-okay, thank you." She said as she left. But before she left the room, she briefly glanced at the brown-haired man who had defended her from Keith. For some reason, she felt grateful to the man even though she didn't know him.
His face was cold with brown hair, his eyes were silver like very beautiful diamonds. He is very handsome, not much different from the two brothers Lucien and Keith.
"The man who was so handsome earlier, who is he? Is he one of Lucien' men?" She thought after she left the room. A guard who had previously escorted her to the room accompanied her back to the front door of the room as if to ensure that she didn't try to escape again like she did yesterday.
This mansion seems to be filled with extraordinarily handsome and attractive men, Lucien, Keith and that man. Even though she didn't have time to see the faces of the other men in the room one by one, she knew that they were no less attractive.
"What exactly is this place?" She wondered. What she saw in that room made her remember a mafia film. To be honest, she didn't want to guess, but when she thought about it, a luxurious mansion in a remote area, an underground prison, dozens of guards dressed in black and guns, this place was like the headquarters of a mafia group.
"There's no way Lucien Schneider is a mobster, his face and appearance are too perfect to be a big-time criminal like that. Yes, definitely not. He's definitely just an ordinary businessman, just like John, he's just an ordinary man."
