Lila let out a nervous breath. "Yeah, it has been a while."
"How have you been Lila?" Victor asked.
"I am doing great, life's been treating me good." She answers as she laughs nervously.
"Lila you know exactly what I meant, so skip the small talk and get straight to the actual answer." Victor told her.
"Well, to be honest it has not been going great. Clara still does not want tobelieve me no matter how many times I try to convince her. I have not been able to find any evidence. Elliot does not want to talk to me. Clara does not even let me in her room anymore." Lila whined
"Hmmm." Victor cleared his throat.
"Well I see you have been having some trouble with carrying out your task." Victor said to her.
"Not to worry though, I believe I have something that can help you expose Elliot."
"And that is?" Lila questioned with her voice low.
"Meet me at The Vane tonight. I will explain everything better then." Victor says to her then ended the call.
Lila stood staring at the phone in her hands. What could Victor have that could possibly help her. Why didn't he just expose Elliot himself if he had it.
She shrugged, "Meh..... I guess I will just have to ask him when we meet tonight."
Few hours later Lila stepped out of the shower her hair damp and her skin covered with droplets of water. She padded to her dresser and proceeded to get dressed. She put her hair up in a sleek ponytail and did her makeup lightly. Standing up, she put on a matching set of lingerie and a body on red dress. Standing in front of the mirror to admire her appearance she thought...
'Lila it's not a date, why are you putting in so much effort.'
'I always have to look good.' She responded to the voice in her head.
'Oh Lila do not be silly you and I know you are starting to have a thing for Victor.' The voice retorted.
Lila gasped wide eyed, 'I would never. Elliot is still the love of my life, he's just confused right now that's why he's gay. I must help him see the light.' Lila said out loud.
'If you say so.' the voice answered.
She stepped out of her room, got into her car and left. She did not want to be late.
Lila stepped into the restaurant, looking around in search of Victor. Her eyes lands on him and he beckons her with his hand. She walks towards him, he pulls her seat out for her and she sits.
Victor takes a quick sip of his drink, the whiskey burning his throat.
"Would you like anything to drink?" He asks Lila.
She nods,"I would like some Champagne." She answers Victor.
He calls the waiter over and tell him Lila's order.
"Soo what was it you said could help me?" Lila asked going straight to the point.
"Getting down to business quick right?" Victor let out while smirking.
"Definitely why else would I be here." Lila answered.
Victor leans forward, "Why don't we relax a bit, get to know each other then I will tell you what you need." Victor said.
The waiter had arrived and poured Lila's champagne in her flute leaving the rest of the bottle on the table.
Lila took a sip. "I never knew our relationship to be so casual. I thought it was a scratch my back I scratch your back thing."
"It was but I just thought I should change things up a bit." A sly grin on Victor's face.
"Oookayyy." Lila said feeling slightly uncomfortable.
"I mean, don't you want to get to know me a little bit more? Plus straight to the point is a little boring and you are not my employee." Victor asked.
"I mean I don't mind." Lila said non-chalantly.
"Let's play a game." Victor proposes. Lila arched her brow in confusion.
"Twenty questions. You ask me twenty questions to get to know me and the tool needed to help your mission. For each question that doesn't lead you closer to the bigger picture, you have to drink. Is that okay with you?" Victor explains
Lila nods, curiosity filled on her face.
"Let's begin." Victor said.
"What is it you have against Sinclair's that make you want to expose Elliot so bad?" Lila asked
"Well I'm a man of the truth and I hate fraud. That is all, it is really nothing that personal." Victor answered.
Lila nodded in response. "Nineteen more questions to go." Victor said.
"The question did not even relate to the tool you needed." Victor added
Lila shrugged, " I only asked because I was curious."
"Oh well, now you have to drink." Victor told her.
Lila reluctantly grabbed her champagne flute and downed it.
"Next question, Why haven't you tried exposing Elliot on your own?" Lila asked.
"Well not that I have not tried but people did not believe me. The Sinclairs blind everyone with their perfection." Victor answered
"But I believed you" Lila said.
"Yes you did but you still needed evidence." Victor told her.
"Fair enough." Lila said.
"Eighteen questions left. Drink up." Victor told her. She downed another glass of champagne starting to feel slightly buzzed.
They continued playing the game. Each question peeling back a layer of Victor and his agenda towards Elliot and the Sinclair's.
"Three questions left." Victor told Lila.
She giggled, nothing was funny but she giggled and she didn't know why.
"I think your goal all along was to get me drunk." Lila said laughing.
"Me?" Victor said in fake pretense.
"That was never my plan." Victor added.
Lila rolled her eyes in disbelief. "Anyways, if you had the chance to expose Elliot how exactly would you do it to ensure that everyone believes you?"
Lila asked her words starting to slur.
"Well I've told you already, live evidence. A Livestream for everyone to watch." Victor replied.
Lila nodded. "What if I'm still in love with Elliot, would you spare him a little for my sake?" Lila asked her lips pouting.
"Like I said I just like honesty and I want the truth. Me getting the truth out there is not to hurt Elliot but to liberate him so he can live his dream life." Victor answered.
Lila nodded, "Please don't hurt my poor Ellie he doesn't know he's in the wrong. He hasn't had the taste of a real woman like me. That's why." Lila said completely drunk and swaying from left to right.
"You have one last question." Victor told her.
