Elsie nodded her head earnestly, "You should first gauge Mom's attitude!"

Elsie gave a sly smile, "We need to meet Mom first!"

"When you helped Mom find Grandma's information, didn't you ask for a reward?"

"I'll help you take credit!"

Saying this, she quickly and eagerly took Alexander's phone and dialed Amelia's number, putting it on speaker.

"Amelia, how about you sleep with me tonight! I'll warm the bed for you!"

A loud and enthusiastic voice came from the other end of the phone, and Alexander's face immediately fell.

Amelia looked at the phone call accidentally answered by the drunken Vivienne and felt a headache coming on.

She just finished having dinner with these two people and, knowing her poor tolerance for alcohol, didn't drink much.

She didn't expect these two to have an even lower tolerance than her. After a few cans of beer, one was clinging to her arm, crying and saying, "Amelia, you're so pitiful, I want to sleep with you"; the other was standing like a pillar, staring blankly with a silly smile, clearly not sober.

She originally wanted to take out her phone to call the Scott family's driver to send these two back. After all, one was involved in an academic fraud exposure case, and the other was the only student of the currently prominent Rowen. She couldn't just let them get into someone else's car.

But as soon as she took out her phone, Alexander called, and Vivienne, who was clinging to her, accidentally answered it.

Amelia, feeling a bit of a headache, pried Vivienne off her, "Mr. Brown, is there something you need? I'm a bit busy right now, I'll call you back later."

Elsie, seeing her father's dark face, didn't dare to speak and obediently handed the phone to Alexander.

"Nothing major, Ms. Johnson, are you outside? Do you need my help?"

Alexander could tell it was a drunk girl on the other end, but he still felt uncomfortable.

He hadn't even won her over yet, so why could someone else warm Amelia's bed?

Just because she was a girl?

Hearing Alexander's words, Amelia thought for a moment, "I'm at the night market."

"I remember the Brown Group has a hotel nearby, right? Do they have a shuttle service? I'll book a room and have them come pick up two people."

Alexander was silent for a moment, then said, "Wait there for a bit."

About twenty minutes later, a Bentley pulled up by the street.

Amelia was surprised, was the Brown Group this extravagant? Even the hotel shuttle was this high-end?

However, the man who got out of the car shocked her even more.

"The president of the Brown Group, coming to pick up guests?"

Alexander was speechless.

Alexander cleared his throat nonchalantly and said, "Just happened to be nearby."

Amelia raised an eyebrow but didn't expose him. She put the two people, who were stunned by the luxury car, into the car and brought them to the Brown Group's hotel.

Watching the hotel staff take the two into their room, Alexander opened the passenger door for Amelia, "Are you going back to the Scott family? I'll take you."

Amelia got in without hesitation and quickly fastened her seatbelt.

"Was the barbecue good?"

As the car was about to start, Alexander suddenly asked.

Amelia was taken aback.

Wasn't this guy always very health-conscious? According to Sawyer, he had never tasted street food while following Alexander.

Why was he curious about the taste of barbecue now?

"It was pretty good."

"Vivienne found a really good place."

"Really? I haven't tried it yet."

Alexander's tone was very calm, but Amelia inexplicably heard a hint of sadness.

"Then... I'll treat you?"

Alexander's lips curved up, "Sure."

"Consider it a token of appreciation for helping you check Hayden's report yesterday."

Hearing this, Amelia felt a bit embarrassed.

Hayden's report had been hidden by her mother and had disappeared for over twenty years, making it very difficult to find.

Moreover, Alexander had shown up very timely, and treating him to barbecue as a thank you seemed a bit too casual.

"The barbecue is on me. The thank you will be separate."

Alexander was overjoyed, "If you insist, I have no objections."

Amelia rolled her eyes.

"By the way, today we found out that someone was behind Hayden approaching the Scott family. What are you going to do?"

"Is it someone named Opal?"

Amelia smiled, "Let's leave it for now. My dad needs to learn that some things aren't easy to get."

Alexander glanced sideways, seeing the lights outside highlighting the woman's hidden sharpness, and his heart skipped a beat.

As expected, Paxton didn't get anything out of Hayden.

No matter what he asked, Hayden's answers were all lies.

Paxton could see through it, but he still let him go.

As soon as Hayden left the detention center, he went straight to the hospital to find Stella and Ava.

Seeing Ava feeding Stella honey on the hospital bed, Hayden's face turned extremely dark.

"I suffered in the detention center, and you two are living it up out here?"

In response to Hayden's snarky comments, Ava showed him no mercy at all.

"You're a nobody now, what right do you have to shout at us?"

Ava had thought that after over twenty years, she and Hayden would have some feelings for each other.

But in times of trouble, true colors are revealed. After the Johnson family started to decline, all of Hayden's bad traits came out, and Ava found she couldn't stand this loser at all.

And Hayden, he didn't love anyone but himself.

After feeding Stella the last spoonful of honey, Ava expressionlessly took out a document from the drawer, "Divorce agreement, sign it."

Hayden was incredulous, "Are you crazy?! Aren't you afraid I'll tell the Smith family that Stella is someone else's child, and she won't be able to get married?"

Stella, hearing Hayden's words, felt deeply hurt. Indeed, Hayden could be so cruel.

Ava sneered, "My daughter is a prospective graduate student at Serenity University, and now she's with the Smith family's child. How dare they oppose the marriage?

"Besides," Ava looked Hayden up and down with disdain, "with the way you are now, the Smith family would rather marry a poor girl than be associated with you."

Hayden's face showed deep humiliation.

"You look down on me now, but don't regret it when I make it big!"

He tore up the divorce agreement in two swift motions and slammed the door as he left.

"Hello, is this Mr. Bridges? I've done what you asked, so about the funds..."

A furious roar came from the other end, "How dare you call me!"

With the man's roar came a woman's shrill scream, and under the double sounds, Hayden was completely stunned.
