Chapter 592
Chapter 592
After the Price family's collapse, Louisa and Sadie began digging into Vivian's story.
"Louisa, I found something."
Sadie set a thick folder on the table in front of her, expression grave. "Vivian really has been under Lorelei's thumb all these years. She was kept in some remote estate, forced to take medication. Her mental state was never stable."
Louisa picked up the file and flipped through it quickly.
Inside were photos of the estate where Vivian had been held, years of medical records, and evidence of how Lorelei had used Vivian's family as leverage.
"Lorelei really will stop at nothing."
Louisa's voice was flat.
"There's more." Sadie added, "I also found out that Lorelei never had any intention of letting Vivian or her family go. She was just using her — and once Vivian outlived her usefulness, she was going to have her silenced."
"And Vivian's been doing Lorelei's dirty work for years. Passing messages, manipulating witnesses, even getting pulled into some deals that couldn't see the light of day."
Sadie's tone was heavy. "Most of the time, she was forced into it. Her mental state was too fragile to fight back, and Lorelei kept her that way with the drugs."
Louisa's eyes went cold.
Silenced.
Lorelei really was ruthless.
---
At that same moment, Vivian sat alone in her hotel room, barely holding herself together.
She knew the Price family was finished.
She knew Lorelei wouldn't let her walk away.
All those years of doing Lorelei's bidding, all those secrets she'd been made to keep — Lorelei would never let someone like that stay alive.
"What do I do... what am I supposed to do..."
She pressed her hands over her head and sank to the floor, shaking.
Then the door exploded inward.
Several men in black flooded the room.
"Vivian. Ms. Wolfe says it's time."
The man in front spoke without warmth.
The blood drained from Vivian's face.
This was it. Lorelei had finally come to clean up loose ends.
"No — please —"
She backed against the wall, trembling.
The men closed in, step by step.
Then sirens cut through the night outside.
The men froze.
"Cops? How did the cops —"
"Forget it. Kill her now!"
The leader drew a knife and lunged.
Vivian squeezed her eyes shut. This was the end.
The pain never came.
She opened her eyes.
Noah stood between her and the blade, one hand locked around the man's wrist.
"Who sent you?"
His voice was ice.
The men took one look at the situation and bolted — but Noah's people had already sealed the building. Within minutes, every one of them was on the ground.
Vivian sat where she'd fallen, shaking, tears streaming down her face.
"Why..." she managed. "Why did you save me?"
She looked up at Noah, lost.
"Ms. Forbes sent me." His tone was even. "She said you're a victim too. She doesn't walk away from people like that."
Vivian went still.
Louisa?
The person she'd hurt?
She was the one who sent help?
The tears came harder.
---
Louisa and Sadie arrived at the hotel not long after.
Vivian was on the couch, pale, eyes vacant.
"Vivian."
Louisa crossed the room and sat across from her, voice calm. "Your family — we got them out. They're safe."
Vivian's head snapped up. Her eyes went red instantly.
"You — what? My parents... they're safe?"
"Yes." Louisa nodded. "They're somewhere secure. You can see them whenever you're ready."
Something broke open in Vivian's chest. The tears came in a flood.
"Why would you help me..." she choked out. "After everything I did to you... why?"
"Because you're a victim." Louisa's voice didn't waver. "Lorelei is the enemy. Not you."
Vivian looked at her and fell apart completely.
"Louisa... I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."
She could barely get the words out. "What I did back then — I was wrong. I was jealous, and I hurt you, and I've carried that guilt every single day since —"
"That's over now."
Louisa held her gaze, steady. "I stopped blaming you a long time ago."
Vivian stared at her, unable to believe what she was hearing.
"You... you don't hate me?"
"No." A small nod. "You were used. And you've been paying for it ever since."
The tears wouldn't stop.
She had been so sure Louisa would want revenge. So sure she deserved it.
She hadn't expected this.
"Louisa... thank you."
She swallowed hard. "I'll testify against Lorelei. Everything she did — I was there for most of it."
She steadied herself. "Her arrangement with Gareth and Dominic. How she controlled me, how she threatened my family — I have proof of all of it. Every crime she's buried over the years, I kept records."
"I'll hand everything over to the authorities."
Something hardened in Vivian's eyes — something new. "I want her to answer for what she's done."
Louisa looked at her, and the corner of her mouth lifted.
"Good."
She knew Vivian had just made the right call.
And Lorelei was one step closer to the end.
Years of wrongs, finally finding their reckoning.
The last trace of bitterness Vivian had carried toward Louisa dissolved quietly in her chest.
From today, she was starting over.
For her family. For herself.
"Louisa."
She spoke softly.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry. For all of it."
Her voice was barely above a whisper. "If there's a next life... I'd want to be your friend."
Louisa looked at her for a moment, then smiled.
"You don't have to wait that long."
She held out her hand.
"This life works just fine."
Vivian stared at the outstretched hand.
Then, through her tears, she laughed — and took it.
Two women who had once been enemies. At peace, at last.
