Chapter 151 She Initially Wanted to Abort the Child

Chapter 151 She Initially Wanted to Abort the Child

Isabella walked very slowly, and as she reached the door, George called out to her, "Isabella."

She stopped and turned back. "Yes?"

"Look, don't sweat it. I'm committed to getting healthy this time. We've got a long road ahead of us, and I don't want my health holding us back, you know?"

Isabella, unsure what to make of this, simply nodded. "Okay."

"Run and grab Mom for me. Tell her I need to see her."

"Sure."

Half an hour later, Patricia stormed out of George's bedroom, clutching a handful of photos supposedly of Isabella.

Back in the living room, she spotted Thalia and slapped her hard across the face.

Thalia stumbled back, hand flying to her cheek, staring at Patricia in disbelief. "Aunt Patricia! What was that for?"

Patricia flung the photos at Thalia, jabbing a finger accusingly. "You showed these to Isabella?"

Thalia, indignant, retorted, "What if I did? She's the one who did those shameful things! Why can't anyone talk about it?"

Patricia's face hardened. "Where did you get these pictures?"

Thalia hesitated, then stammered, "I… I found them at Adrian's. Why would he have those pictures if they weren't involved? It's obvious they were sleeping together."

"That's crap."

"Aunt Patricia, this is serious! Even if George is willing to overlook it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. You need to think for yourself, not just blindly believe everything George says." Thalia knew she was on shaky ground, but the woman in the photos was definitely Isabella.

"Thalia, don't push this. If it were true, George wouldn't stand for it. Those pictures are obviously fake." Patricia's chest heaved as she sat down heavily and took a gulp of water.

Thalia seized the opportunity to sit beside her. "Aunt Patricia, even if they're photoshopped, why would anyone put her face on them? She's not famous. Something fishy is going on between her and Adrian."

Patricia eyed Thalia thoughtfully. "You're positive you found these at Adrian's?"

"Absolutely. And…" Thalia leaned in conspiratorially, whispering, "…there's a whole folder of them on his computer. All Isabella."

"That's Adrian's issue, not Isabella's."

"Aunt Patricia, are you really that naive? You think having a kid means she's suddenly changed? How do you know she didn't have that baby just to trap George?"

Patricia, who had always been touched by Isabella's apparent devotion, felt a flicker of doubt. "Why would she have his baby if she didn't love him? She could have walked away."

"Oh, come on!" Thalia edged closer. "I heard she only had the baby because she couldn't get an abortion. It was for her own sake, not out of love for George."

Patricia was taken aback. "Is that true?"

"A nurse at the hospital where she was treated is a friend of mine. She said Isabella asked about an abortion right away, but the doctor told her it was too risky. So, don't put her on a pedestal."

Patricia shook her head, still resistant. "I don't believe it. George is such a good catch. She must love him."

Thalia shrugged, feigning helplessness. "Suit yourself. I've told you what I know." Her look clearly conveyed, You'll see.

Thalia knew Patricia well enough to be confident the seed of doubt had been planted. A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth.

"Just go home, Thalia. Don't come around so much unless you have something important to say." Patricia's mind was racing. She needed time to process.

Thalia grasped Patricia's arm, giving it a little shake. "I just worry about you, Aunt Patricia. You're so kind, so easily fooled. George is blinded by her, but we need to stay sharp."

"George isn't stupid. He knows who's good to him and who's playing games. You're just causing trouble."

Thalia's eyes welled up. "I'm not! I just want George to be happy, not some fool getting played. You're so unfair to me."

Seeing Thalia's near tears, Patricia relented. "Fine, go home. I need some quiet."

"Okay."

With Thalia's departure, peace returned to Spencer Manor.

A few days later, Daniel reviewed George's latest health report. A month of rest and treatment had done wonders.

"Looking good! You'll live to be a hundred at this rate," Daniel grinned, handing George the report.

George scanned the data, a satisfied nod following. "Worth it. Besides faking that coma, I've never spent so much time in bed."

"It paid off," Daniel agreed, packing his medical bag. "Isabella seems down, though. Probably overthinking things again. You might want to check on her."

"She's been through a lot," George admitted.

"Women, huh? One look and they come up with a hundred different scenarios. I feel for you, Mr. Spencer," Daniel chuckled.

"Save your pity. I've got a wife and son. You're the one I feel sorry for – still single."

Daniel sighed.

"Pushing thirty and still no girlfriend?" George needled, getting out of bed and stretching.

"It's not like you just pick one up at the grocery store. It takes time to find the right person," Daniel retorted.

"Sure. Keep telling yourself that while you get left on the shelf," George quipped.
