Chapter 255
Chapter 255
Diana nodded in agreement, "You're right. Getting over being love-crazy is worth that price. Otherwise, who knows what ridiculous things she might have done."
Sometimes she really didn't understand—there's so much delicious food, beautiful scenery, and handsome guys in the world.
Men are everywhere, so why fight over one?
Having landed a big order, Diana was in high spirits, "Let's play some games. What do you guys usually play?"
Everyone's eyes turned to Michael in unison.
Clearly, they wanted him to decide.
Michael's eyes flickered, "Let's play Truth or Dare."
Diana nodded enthusiastically, and the others agreed.
The game began. Everyone started rolling dice to see who got the highest and lowest numbers.
The person with the highest could challenge the person with the lowest.
Diana was experienced at this kind of game, though she kept a low profile at first.
After playing for an hour, Diana rolled three sixes.
And coincidentally, Michael got the lowest.
"What fate! Come on, what do you want to ask? You two are about to be together, so if there's anything you're curious about, ask it now during the game—you might get some big revelations."
"Yeah, yeah, hurry up and ask. We can't wait."
Diana frowned, wanting to ask if she was really just a rebellious choice.
The words were on the tip of her tongue, but she swallowed them back.
Why humiliate herself?
After thinking for a moment, she cleared her throat, "Then I'll ask something everyone's interested in—who was your first woman?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, Diana froze.
What was she doing? Digging into Michael's past like this.
How pointless.
Why would she ask such a boring question?
The others burst out laughing.
"Michael, do you see? Diana's not so generous after all. She's already getting possessive, wanting to know about your past. Come on, tell us—who was your first woman?"
Under everyone's gaze, Michael's lips curved up as he wrapped his arm around her slender waist and pulled her into his embrace, "Of course it was you. Did you forget?"
This Diana really had no conscience.
So much time had passed, yet he still remembered what their first time together was like.
But she had completely forgotten.
Diana froze, her eyes wide, unable to believe her ears.
"Me?"
Michael had been surrounded by women throwing themselves at him since childhood, all beauties, career women too.
How could it have been her?
Diana was confused, her eyes full of doubt.
Michael chuckled, his tone slightly helpless, "You don't believe me? You really have no conscience."
Their first time together, his movements had been somewhat awkward at first, only gradually becoming more practiced.
And Diana had no memory of it at all.
Diana laughed awkwardly, "Well, that round's over. Let's continue."
Everyone laughed, and the game went on.
Michael, however, was sulking, holding the woman in his arms. He picked up a piece of watermelon with a fork and brought it to her lips, "What should I do? My woman doesn't love me as intensely as I love her. I'm so hurt."
Even though she knew he was playing pitiful, Diana guiltily opened her mouth.
To shut him up, she picked up fruit and stuffed piece after piece into his mouth.
Everyone watched, feeling somewhat bitter inside.
Late at night, everyone was tired.
Michael picked up Diana and headed out, "We're going back to sleep. You guys keep playing."
Diana worked hard—he knew that.
Staying up all night wasn't realistic.
With that, he left with Diana.
After they left, the private room erupted in discussion.
"Oh my god, what's going on? This time Mr. Johnson is serious—after all these years, he's never brought any woman here before."
"Isn't it obvious? At the banquet, in front of everyone, he announced that Diana is the love of his life. This Diana is something else—she's got Michael wrapped around her finger, completely under control."
"I don't like that way of putting it. What do you mean 'under control'? Who knows who's getting the better deal? Excellent women who are both beautiful and smart aren't easy to find."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
However, those with younger sisters felt conflicted.
The Hill family and the Johnson family had fallen out, which was an excellent opportunity for them.
They had originally wanted to attend this gathering to test Michael's intentions, to see if he really cared about Diana or if he'd just keep her as a mistress. They never expected this result.
Today they had become certain of one thing—they absolutely couldn't mess with Diana lightly in the future.
Meanwhile, after leaving the private room, Diana's head felt fuzzy.
"My alcohol tolerance has gone down lately. I used to be fine no matter how much I drank."
After getting in the car, Michael kept massaging Diana's head, "Don't come next time. Didn't I tell you? If you don't want to drink, you don't have to. Don't force yourself. When you're with me, you can do whatever you want."
"How can I do that?"
Diana lazily lifted her eyelids. Seeing a scene in the distance, her pupils suddenly contracted. Instinctively, she pushed Michael away and opened the car door.
Michael's expression changed, and he quickly followed.
In a dim corner, Veda was unconscious—whether passed out or drunk—being dragged into a car by two burly men.
Diana ran over with long strides, shouting angrily, "Who are you? What are you doing? Let her go right now, or I'll kill you."
She shouted as she ran.
Diana ran over breathlessly, but the two burly men clearly didn't take her seriously.
"Alright, stop being a busybody, or I'll deal with you first."
"Yeah, her waist isn't even as thick as my arm. Get lost, don't stick your nose in."
As they spoke, they had already stuffed Veda into the car.
Seeing them about to leave, Diana didn't have time to think. She grabbed a stick from the roadside and rushed forward, "Let her go, or I'll kill you."
"Got some nerve, trying to kill us?" The two rolled up their sleeves to fight, but seeing Michael approaching quickly, they stopped.
They could tell from his appearance that he had status. Michael's custom-tailored suit was worth a fortune—clearly someone important.
They cleared their throats and explained patiently, "We're not doing anything bad. This woman was sent over by her family. Our boss paid for her."
