Chapter 172
Seeing Victoria looking like she wanted to die, Martin was furious.
She was the one who wronged him, and now she was throwing a tantrum at him?
Who gave her such nerve?
Martin slammed his hand on the table, "You dare threaten me?"
Victoria flinched, lifted her pale, sickly face, and laughed at him, "I wouldn't call it a threat. I'm just telling the truth. Since you've already prepared a coffin, please prepare another one. My dad and I can go together."
"Done eating? Come out with me." Martin forcibly suppressed the urge to strangle her and spoke impatiently.
Victoria refused, "I don't want to go anywhere."
"If you really want to arrange your dad's funeral, try defying me one more time?" Martin laughed coldly in anger. Why did she have to argue back every time he said something?
She had done wrong and needed his help now.
Didn't she know how to please someone?
Didn't she understand being obedient and compliant?
Hearing this, Victoria immediately calmed down.
She looked at Martin in surprise, "Where to?"
"The hospital." His tone was harsh.
But Victoria didn't mind. The hospital?
Was he taking her to see Hayden?
Were they resuming the medication?
The gloom in Victoria's heart instantly cleared. If they were going to see Hayden, she definitely wanted to go.
Looking like this, Aria would surely worry.
She needed to fix herself up, put on some makeup, and improve her complexion.
"Wait a moment, I'll go get ready." After saying this, Victoria got up and hurried to the master bedroom.
After she left, Martin took out a pack of cigarettes, put one in his mouth, and started smoking.
Through the swirling smoke, his expression grew increasingly cold.
After finishing several cigarettes, Victoria came back dressed and made up.
Martin glanced at her, his eyes brightening.
She seemed to have returned to her bright appearance when they first met in college.
As if nothing had happened between them.
Martin quickly reacted, stubbing out his cigarette in the ashtray.
Victoria smiled bitterly. Actually, it didn't matter whether he put it out or not—she had already miscarried.
"Go ahead and smoke, you don't need to worry about me." Victoria bit her lip.
Martin looked at her with displeasure and snorted coldly, "The person I'm concerned about has never been you, but my child."
"What if the child is gone?" Victoria blurted out.
He narrowed his eyes and, after a long pause, warned, "I'll make the entire Gonzalez family pay with their lives."
At these words, Victoria's face turned deathly pale.
The entire Gonzalez family would pay with their lives for that child?
Victoria blinked her dry eyes. Wouldn't that mean Hayden was doomed?
"Good that you're scared. Victoria, if you're smart, just give birth to the child obediently, and my promise still stands. But if you dare make any moves, you, your father, the Gonzalez family—you'll all die miserably." Martin stared at her belly under the down jacket.
She was afraid of the cold, so she wore thick clothes.
He couldn't tell at all that her belly was already flat.
Martin grabbed his car keys and went downstairs without waiting for her.
Victoria followed behind thoughtfully.
She swallowed hard.
How long could she hide the miscarriage?
Once Martin found out, it would be the end for the Gonzalez family.
In the car, Victoria was completely anxious and afraid.
She felt like she was walking a tightrope, each step so difficult, each step so careful, yet still easy to fall into the abyss and be shattered to pieces.
Martin drove quietly without talking to her, glancing at her bloodless face from the corner of his eye.
Actually, today's temperature was okay, not particularly cold.
How could she be so weak?
So cold that even her lips had no color.
Martin turned on the heater and adjusted the vents.
Victoria felt warm air spraying on her fingers, and her whole body gradually relaxed.
"Mia has been diagnosed with depression." Martin's cold voice suddenly rang out.
She didn't care at all and responded indifferently.
"Do you have anything to say?" he asked mockingly.
Victoria didn't know if he was deliberately making conversation or just couldn't help making her miserable.
Mia was her rival, the mistress who destroyed her family, and the murderer who tried to kill her in Rainbow Town. Now Mia had depression—she deserved it!
It was karma!
And he asked if she had anything to say?
Victoria laughed coldly, "I have nothing to say."
"What if I insist you say something?" Martin pressed her.
She sneered, "Then I can only say heaven has eyes and knows who the villain is."
Victoria glanced at Martin and mocked, "Don't worry, your karma is coming soon too. You might end up worse than her."
"Victoria, you insist on talking to me like this?" Martin's face turned extremely cold, his eyelids twitching with anger.
Victoria snorted, "I already said I had no opinion. You insisted I speak. Did you expect me to say something nice? Martin, I haven't studied acting. I don't know how to flatter people. If you want to hear nice words, go find her. Though now that she has depression, she probably can't say anything nice either."
"If you can't have a proper conversation, shut up! Nobody thinks you're mute!"
Martin glared at her and suddenly accelerated.
Victoria knew he was angry and taking it out on the car.
She obediently shut her mouth. She was about to see Aria soon and didn't want to upset herself.
Soon, the car stopped at the hospital entrance.
But Victoria didn't get out, because she realized this wasn't the hospital where Hayden was, but the one where she had her psychological evaluation!
But Hayden hadn't transferred hospitals!
The person Martin was taking her to see wasn't Hayden!
Could it be—
Victoria instantly guessed what he wanted to do.
Martin unbuckled his seatbelt. Seeing her motionless in her seat, he sneered, "You're not getting out? Waiting for me to carry you?"
"Who are you taking me to see?" Victoria narrowed her eyes, laughing coldly in anger.
Martin looked somewhat uncomfortable. "You'll know when we get there."
"Your lover has depression, and you're still bringing me to see her? Aren't you afraid she'll get jealous and threaten suicide? Martin, you're really something. Not only are you terrible to me, but to Mia, too. What's your intention in bringing me to provoke her?" Victoria suddenly smiled. She thought he treated Mia so well.
His expression changed slightly, "She'll feel better when she sees you."
"Really? So I have the power to cure depression, and I didn't even know it? Go by yourself. I won't put on a show." Victoria was angry and hurt.
Mia would be happy seeing her, so if she died, Mia would be happy too. Should she just give her life to Mia?
"You won't go? What right do you have to refuse? You ruined her face and gave her depression. Shouldn't you apologize to her? Victoria, after doing such dirty, despicable things, can you sleep soundly at night?" Martin grabbed her chin, forcibly turning her head to make Victoria look at him.
