Chapter 108
Victoria's soft lips pressed against Martin's.
His rationality was being eaten away bit by bit by her actions.
Actually, when she got in the car, Martin could have kicked her out.
But he couldn't bear to.
When he really brought Victoria home and saw her deliberately humble herself, lowering her status, Martin inexplicably got angry. He didn't know how to face Victoria.
Victoria's kiss gradually stirred up intense desire in his eyes.
With a swift movement, Martin pressed her beneath him.
His large hand landed on the back of her head, his eyes fixed intently on Victoria's stunning features. "You want to have sex that badly? Victoria, don't regret provoking me. You asked for this!"
Before Victoria could react, her lips were dominantly sealed by Martin's.
She was a bit dazed. How did it turn out like this?
Victoria turned her head away, and his kiss landed on the side of her face. "What? Changed your mind again? If you don't want to, then get lost!"
"Promise to do it, Martin. Do you dare to promise? Are you that afraid of getting close to me, afraid of falling in love with your enemy's daughter?" Victoria shot back sarcastically.
Her jaw was gripped hard by his large hand, the pain making tears well up in her eyes.
Big tears instantly spilled out.
That night passed too slowly.
And was too hard to endure.
Victoria was too tired and eventually fell asleep from exhaustion.
She didn't know when Martin finished.
After she fell asleep.
He got out of bed and first went to the bathroom to take a cold shower. He didn't know why, but tormenting Victoria didn't make him feel any better either.
Feeling a bit hungry, Martin walked to the living room.
Several dishes were still on the living room table.
Victoria had made these. He thought she had thrown them away, but they were still here.
After heating them in the microwave, Martin sat at the dining table and ate all the dishes Victoria had made with an expressionless face.
He ate every dish clean.
After a year, her cooking seemed to have gotten even better. It was the familiar taste he knew.
The next morning.
When Victoria woke up, she found no one else in bed, just herself.
She moved her body slightly—it was incredibly sore, as if someone had taken her apart and put her back together, like she was about to fall apart.
After looking around, there was no sign of Martin at home. He must have gone to work at the Gonzalez Group—after all, he was a true workaholic.
Victoria glanced at the dining table. Last night's dishes were gone. She didn't believe Martin had eaten them—he probably found them an eyesore and threw them away.
She smiled bitterly, went to the bathroom to shower, then washed up.
Suddenly her stomach felt nauseous, and she retched violently, but couldn't throw up anything.
She had been throwing up several times already.
Could she be pregnant?
After a year, they had only had sex at the Night Club.
After sex, her liver started hurting so badly that she went to the hospital to buy painkillers and forgot to take birth control pills.
Victoria felt a bit panicked. She needed to go to the hospital for a checkup.
Walking to the living room, she noticed a sticky note on the fridge. She tore it off to read.
It was Martin's handwriting: [When you wake up, come report to the Gonzalez Group. Sign the deal agreement. Before 10 AM. Don't be late.]
Victoria didn't immediately go to the Gonzalez Group to find Martin. Instead, she went to the hospital first.
When the doctor saw her, thinking she had run out of painkillers, she quickly explained, "Doctor, I suspect I'm pregnant. I want to get checked."
"You can't get pregnant! You're a late-stage cancer patient right now. Pregnancy will speed up the deterioration of your condition." Hearing this, the doctor's smile disappeared and his expression immediately became serious.
Victoria understood all this—the fetus would take away the nutrition and nutrients from her body.
Her resistance would get weaker and weaker, ultimately resulting in both their deaths.
"That's why I'm here for a checkup, just to be sure." Victoria pressed her lips together.
The doctor took it seriously and quickly wrote her a form, having her do the relevant tests.
After the examination, the doctor asked about her recent condition, whether her pain had intensified or anything like that.
Victoria said that recently, her liver hadn't been hurting.
The doctor was satisfied and told her the condition was under control. He told her to keep a good mood and prescribed her four bottles of painkillers.
Victoria peeled off the painkiller bottle labels and efficiently put them in her handbag.
Her father Hayden was also in this hospital, so she went to visit him.
Aria told her that Hayden was recovering well, and it was certain he would wake up by the end of the month.
She was just worried about money.
Victoria comforted her, "Mom, don't worry. We won't have to worry about money anymore. Martin will help the Gonzalez family from now on."
"Really?" Aria was a bit surprised.
Victoria nodded. "Really."
"Did you promise him some condition? Victoria, please don't do anything foolish."
"Mom, don't overthink it. We're husband and wife anyway, so it's only right that he helps us. Just relax and wait for Dad to wake up. Then our family of three will be reunited." Victoria forced a smile on her face, which exhausted her, but she had to do this. She couldn't let Aria worry.
Before dying, if Hayden woke up, she would have fulfilled one wish, so she had to be happy too. She would live as many days as she could.
Victoria checked the time—it was already 9:30. Before leaving, she pulled two thousand dollars from her wallet and pressed it into Hayden's hand, telling her to take care of herself.
Hayden initially refused, but Victoria insisted, so she could only accept it. After all, there were too many places in the hospital that needed money.
Victoria arrived at the Gonzalez Group CEO's office at exactly 10 o'clock—not a second more, not a second less.
Martin didn't waste words with her and directly threw a document in her face.
The document hit her face painfully.
Then the document fell in front of her shoes.
Victoria bent down to pick it up, and Martin's extremely cold voice came from above her head, "If there's no problem, sign it!"
