Chapter 292 True Colors

Chapter 292 True Colors

"Sir, I'm so sorry!" The server apologized profusely while immediately reaching out to wipe him down.

The tea had spilled on a sensitive area. If the server actually touched him there...

Sophia's eyes narrowed. Lancelot had already raised his hand and caught the server's wrist.

"Sir."

The server looked up at Lancelot, her eyes misty, radiating a pitiful, wounded charm.

Kneeling and looking up at a seated man created a sense of submission, a subordinate to a superior. Clearly, she was skilled at attracting powerful men in situations like this.

Lancelot's lips curved slightly. "Go get your manager."

"Sir, I'm the one who made the mistake. I can clean it up for you. Please don't call the manager."

The server's pitiful plea couldn't hide the calculation in her eyes.

Sophia didn't understand why Lancelot was wasting time on a server.

She frowned slightly and couldn't help speaking up. "Custom-tailored clothes—you think a few napkins will clean them?"

The server seemed to realize only now that they weren't ordinary people. Her voice took on a tearful edge.

"I know I'm poor, but miss, how can you say that?"

"Sir, I can take you to the lounge and help you wash it properly."

Sophia wanted to roll her eyes. What had she said? Wasn't it the truth?

If she hadn't reminded her, would the server have even thought about washing it properly?

And going to the lounge? That was laying her intentions out way too obviously.

Sophia was about to say something more when Lancelot spoke. "Lead the way. To the lounge."

Sophia fell silent.

Aiden fell silent.

It was so obvious—couldn't Lancelot see he was the big fish being reeled in?

Taking the bait just like that? Really?

Lancelot had already stood. The server was naturally beaming as she prepared to lead him to the lounge.

He followed for a step, then turned back to look at Sophia, still seated. "Come with me."

Sophia thought, 'What does this have to do with me? He's the one flirting—does he need an audience?'

She complained internally, but when she met his eyes, she stood and followed.

The server clearly hadn't expected Lancelot to call Sophia along. Her eyes shifted slightly. "Sir, I'm the one who dirtied your pants. Let me clean them for you..."

"Lead the way." Lancelot's voice turned cool, obviously not interested in further discussion.

Reluctantly, the server led them to the lounge.

"Sir, if you take off your pants, I'll wash them for you." She glanced at Sophia. "Miss, it wouldn't be appropriate for you to watch, would it?"

Sophia fell silent.

It wasn't appropriate for her to watch, but it was appropriate for the server?

A server in her early twenties had already reached this level? Acting like there was no one else in the men's restroom?

Sophia complained internally. Lancelot spoke coolly. "Ms. Percy, she's telling you to leave. What should we do?"

What should they do? She wanted to know too. She glared at Lancelot.

Hearing such a formal form of address, the server thought she had a chance and couldn't help pressing forward. But Lancelot spoke first. "You don't have any sense at all? Can't you see she's unhappy? Leave. I need to coax her."

The server was dumbfounded.

They were a couple?

No matter how unwilling she was, she could only turn and leave.

"Upset?" Lancelot approached Sophia, looking down at her, his voice tinged with obvious amusement.

"What do I have to be upset about?" Sophia was completely unaware that she looked exactly like a displeased girlfriend right now. "Mr. Clifford brought someone to the lounge. Isn't it a shame to just send her away like that?"

"What's there to regret?"

"No one to help you clean up now."

"You can help me."

Excuse me?

Sophia's eyes went wide with surprise.

Lancelot straightened and casually sat on the sofa. "Is there a problem?"

Yes, a huge problem!

How was she supposed to help him?!

He didn't seem to realize at all that it was a sensitive area. He just sat there, not the least bit worried about what people might think.

Did CEOs really have no sense of propriety?

As various thoughts swirled through her head, a knock came at the door.

Sophia didn't care who was outside. Like she'd found a lifeline, she rushed to open it.

Aiden stood in the doorway. Seeing Sophia's expression, he looked surprised. "What's wrong?"

"Why did you come?" Sophia hadn't recovered yet.

"To bring the boss clothes." Aiden waved a paper bag.

Only then did Sophia realize.

Someone of Lancelot's status would naturally keep spare clothes in the car to prevent all kinds of mishaps. Why would he need her to clean anything?

So he'd just been messing with her?

Sophia was both annoyed and indignant. She walked out and pushed Aiden inside directly.

Standing in the hallway, her face still felt hot. Why did she always let him lead her around so easily, unable to resist at all?

She stared out the window, lost in thought, when a voice spoke up. "So you got kicked out too."

Too?

Sophia raised an eyebrow and turned to find the server from earlier.

The server lifted her chin, blatantly looking Sophia up and down, her eyes full of contempt. "You look decent enough. Nice figure too. But you're almost thirty, right? Old woman!"

No woman could tolerate that!

Even though Sophia really was almost thirty, she was radiant and refined, with well-maintained skin that didn't easily reveal her age.

The server had only judged based on her demeanor, figuring someone who seemed established in her career must have been working for a while.

Sophia's lips curved into a cold smile. "Is that how you address female elders in your family? They're all over thirty, right? What do you call them? Don't they hit you for talking like that?"

"You!"

The server clearly hadn't expected Sophia to be so sharp-tongued. Anger flashed in her eyes.

But the next second, she recovered her disdainful expression. "Acting all high and mighty? You're no different from me—you've got your eye on that man in there. You're probably way dirtier than I am. At your age, who knows how many men you've seduced?"

Sophia's face darkened. "This is your hotel's service attitude? This is how you talk to guests?"

"What, don't like it when someone calls you out? You dare do it but can't stand hearing about it?"

The server clearly worried about being discovered by the manager, but her mouth wouldn't quit.

Sophia keenly sensed something was off about this server. She was too bold.

Even if she really had designs on Lancelot, Sophia was still a hotel guest. How would a server dare be this brazen?

And the server's words just now seemed very certain she was seducing men.

Eyes narrowing, Sophia suddenly said, "You know me?"

" I don't know you, but I know your face." The server spoke disdainfully. "Seducing someone else's boyfriend, having something unclear going on with your boss—I bet you've got plenty of other men in your life too. Disgusting."

Sophia's expression turned completely cold. Who was spreading rumors about her behind her back?

Several faces flashed through her mind, but she couldn't settle on one.

Seeing her silence, the server grew more arrogant. "Got exposed and can't talk now? Let me give you some advice—leave now. If the man in there knew your true face, he wouldn't spare you a glance!"

"What true face?"
