Chapter 201: Twins
Chapter 201: Twins
"You know what? This place really is perfect for romance."
With that, Louis suddenly stood up, swept Evelyn into his arms, and strode directly toward the house.
Seeing his eagerness, Evelyn's face flushed instantly.
For days on end, they hadn't left the villa. Evelyn had truly discovered just how insatiable he could be.
She'd thought he was the restrained type, but now she understood—that earlier restraint had been pure pretense.
His stamina seemed endless, and he made advances regardless of time or place. Now she dressed conservatively even indoors, afraid he might get ideas.
Six months later.
"What? What did you say?"
Louis was in the middle of a meeting when he saw the caller ID and answered immediately. Hearing the news on the other end, he was utterly shocked.
The conference room attendees kept their heads down, not daring to speak. Ethan watched with open curiosity.
"Alright, I understand!"
Louis hung up abruptly and bolted from the room, leaving everyone bewildered.
"What was that about?"
Ethan sighed helplessly, already somewhat accustomed to Louis's dramatic reactions.
Ten minutes later.
The luxury sedan screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance. Louis rushed inside like a madman, bursting into the third-floor examination room.
Evelyn had just finished her checkup, test results still in hand. Leona stood beside her. Seeing his frantic state, she couldn't hide her excitement.
Leona couldn't take it anymore. "Fine, since you're here, I'll leave her to you. I can't handle your dramatics."
Before she finished speaking, Leona turned and left.
Louis ignored her sarcasm, snatched the report from Evelyn's hand, and carefully guided her to a chair.
"Is it true? What the doctor said—is it true?"
"Twins?"
Seeing his excited, expectant expression, Evelyn nodded helplessly. "And they're fraternal—a boy and a girl."
Louis froze completely.
He'd never dared hope... that he could have fraternal twins.
"I'm actually this amazing?"
After a moment, Louis could barely contain his excitement. Even passersby couldn't help commenting as he announced to everyone, "I'm going to be a father!"
Seeing his ridiculous behavior, people around them suppressed their laughter. Even the nurses couldn't help but stare.
Evelyn felt mortified, wishing she could disappear into the floor, but Louis was watching her far too closely.
Since learning of the pregnancy, the Windsor family had become extremely protective.
Raymond sent supplements daily and arranged for housekeepers and a professional maternity care team to provide round-the-clock support.
In just these few days, dozens of people had arrived. They'd even moved to a larger house, and the entire medical team had relocated to the Windsor estate.
Compared to when she'd had Julie and Leo on her own, this was almost absurdly attentive.
Louis's reaction now made Evelyn somewhat worried.
If Raymond found out, would he be even more excited?
"Keep your voice down! What's there to brag about? Let's go home!"
Evelyn felt too embarrassed and started walking.
Louis hurried after her.
Throughout the journey, he was incredibly careful. Once home, they couldn't wait to call Raymond with the news.
Sure enough, an hour later, several more caretakers had been added to their household.
Evelyn felt like crying, though she understood Raymond had long been eager for the next generation.
Now he'd have both grandchildren—the perfect pair.
Louis immediately transferred all his work to Ethan, taking the opportunity to boast about his impending fatherhood.
That same evening, he posted identical announcements across all his social media accounts.
Evelyn watched him, finding it somewhat annoying yet feeling mostly sweetness in her heart.
Soon the news spread. For days, Louis didn't go to the office, staying home as a full-time husband.
Despite having so many caretakers, he personally handled everything related to Evelyn.
When the delivery day arrived, Louis, Raymond, and Marcus waited outside the operating room.
Watching him pace constantly, Raymond and Marcus looked grim. "Can you stop? We're already nervous—watching you makes it worse."
Louis sat down reluctantly, but within three seconds, he stood up again.
"I can't help it. I'm too nervous."
"What if something—"
"Shut up! Don't say such things."
Raymond knew what he was about to say and immediately stopped him.
Nearby stood bodyguards and staff from the maternity center, all waiting for Evelyn to emerge from surgery.
Who could have imagined—the three heads of Windsor Corporation standing together outside an operating room, waiting for the next generation's arrival.
Finally, the operating room lights went out and the door opened.
Evelyn was wheeled out, still conscious. Medical staff brought out the two babies.
Raymond looked at the boy, whose features strongly resembled Louis, while the girl looked more like Evelyn.
"The Windsor family finally has heirs."
"Let me hold them!"
Marcus quickly intervened. "You can barely walk yourself—let me hold them."
As he reached out, before the two could start arguing, Leona and Sophie quickly took the babies.
"They're still so small. Let's get back to the room first. You two can hold them properly later."
Reluctantly, Raymond and Marcus relented.
Louis's attention, however, remained entirely on Evelyn. Seeing her exhaustion, he felt deeply distressed. "We're never having more children."
Seeing him about to cry, Evelyn felt helpless and whispered, "Alright, no more children."
"But you have to promise—don't cry now. It's too embarrassing."
They exchanged smiles and returned to the room.
Days later, Evelyn was discharged, her recovery excellent. Julie and Leo had been brought back from Sophie's.
Watching the children play in the yard, Louis handling all five kids—busy yet comical—Evelyn's smile never faded.
This was the life she'd always wanted. A harmonious family. And this was how she would continue living.
