Chapter 168: The Most Amazing Mom in the World

Chapter 168: The Most Amazing Mom in the World

Nathan's crying intensified.

He seemed to believe that as long as he kept crying, Isabella would definitely feel sorry for him.

In fact, that was exactly what he thought.

In the past, whenever he cried and shed a few tears, no matter what he wanted, Isabella would deliver it right to him.

But Nathan failed to realize one thing.

Before, he had been Isabella's most precious treasure, but now, she wouldn't even spare him a glance.

His status had changed—what meaning did his tears hold anymore?

After Isabella's threat, Nathan's emotions became even more turbulent, and he cried even louder.

Seeing this, William frowned. "Why are you so impatient with Nathan?"

Nathan was only a five-year-old child, after all.

Isabella laughed when she heard this.

"You've barely spent any time with the kids, yet now you're putting on this act of being a good father?"

When Nathan and Olivia enrolled in kindergarten, it had been Isabella and the nanny who carried the children there. Isabella had handled all the paperwork by herself.

When Nathan got sick, it was Isabella who sat alone on the cold hospital chairs, keeping watch.

Now that the children were older, William appeared to claim all the credit for himself.

Was he slapping on the "good father" label again?

Isabella suddenly felt pathetic.

"You've negated all the value of my labor, and now you're here accusing me of not being patient enough with the child. Where was this patient father during the first five years of their lives?"

The dissatisfaction piled up in Isabella's heart hadn't accumulated over just this short period.

She had simply believed all along that she and William were husband and wife, and that spouses should support and help each other.

Who could have predicted that this very belief would enable William to find another woman outside their marriage?

"Can you stop being so unreasonable? My work is very demanding—you know that."

"So demanding that for five whole years, you couldn't spare even a moment for me and the children?" Isabella demanded angrily.

So busy that he'd rather spend time dating Laura than spare her a single glance?

"Ms. Capulet, your car has been serviced," the manager approached nervously, interrupting their conversation.

Isabella grabbed the car keys and prepared to leave.

William immediately seized her hand. "Give me Victoria's contact information."

His tone was like that of a superior commanding Isabella to comply.

Isabella found it impossible to remain calm in William's presence. Hearing this demand, she let out a cold snort and kicked him in the leg.

He groaned, instinctively reaching for his leg in pain.

Isabella took advantage of the moment to get in the car, start the engine, and drive away.

She had no other plans that afternoon, so Isabella picked up Olivia from kindergarten with Mary.

They hadn't yet purchased an extra parking space, so the flashy racing car had to be parked on the street.

When they returned, quite a few children had already gathered around to look.

However, the car obviously looked expensive, so the children's parents stood nearby, worried their kids might accidentally scratch it.

As they approached, Olivia's mouth fell open with a "Wow!"

"Mommy, is there another race car driver living in our neighborhood?"

What an awesome car!

Even cooler than the one Richard had given Mommy!

Isabella gently patted Olivia's head and whispered in her ear, "It's my car."

Speaking too loudly would cause a commotion, so this secret was better kept between just the two of them.

Olivia stared at the car, her eyes practically glued to it.

Any racing fan knew just how influential Victoria's racing car truly was.

Under Isabella's influence, Olivia had also grown increasingly interested in racing.

"Mommy, I knew you were the most amazing mom in the whole world! Can you take me for a ride in this car? That would be so cool!"

Olivia looked at Isabella eagerly, her big eyes filled with anticipation.

This was her area of expertise, and Isabella really wanted to show Olivia what she could do.

But Olivia was simply too young.

Even with a seatbelt, they didn't offer much protection for children who were too light.

"Sweetie, when you're a bit older, Mommy will let you try the race car. You're still too young right now—it wouldn't be safe."

The moment Isabella said this, Olivia knew there was no hope. Her big eyes blinked as she glanced at the car once more.

Isabella found it amusing.

Such a young child already knew how to express her emotions this way.

Mary hadn't heard their whispered conversation and was making her own observations.

"Looks like there really are plenty of wealthy people in our neighborhood—even top-tier luxury cars like this!"

Isabella and Olivia exchanged glances and both covered their mouths, giggling.

Olivia took Mary's hand proactively.

"Mary, actually my mommy is really amazing at driving too. Next time, she'll show you!" Olivia said innocently.

Isabella followed behind, smiling helplessly.

But... if it was Olivia doing the bragging, that was fine.

When they got home and stood upstairs, Isabella truly felt how eye-catching her car was.

From over a dozen floors up, looking down, that bright racing car was immediately visible.

No wonder everyone who passed by couldn't help but take a second look.

The next morning, Isabella went downstairs early with a tape measure from home.

She planned to take the exact measurements of the race car and then buy a car cover to conceal it.

Otherwise, with everyone looking at it, if someone knowledgeable posted it online, Isabella's address would be as good as publicly transparent.

Just as Isabella was busily measuring the dimensions, she suddenly looked up to find Richard standing before her.

She felt a bit embarrassed and touched her face.

"Mr. Spencer, what brings you here? I didn't even have time to make myself presentable."

She'd rushed downstairs after breakfast, without makeup or changing clothes. Isabella felt she could be described as disheveled.

Richard simply smiled. "It's fine. You don't need to be so formal around me."

After learning Isabella's purpose, Richard proactively reached out to help hold the tape measure on one end.

With someone helping, the work efficiency improved considerably.

In less than ten minutes, Isabella had measured all the dimensions and immediately ordered a car cover online.

"Isn't today a day off? What brings you here, Mr. Spencer?"

Richard laughed and jokingly accused her, "Can't I come if there's no particular reason?"
