Chapter 120: Not Him Again?
The more arrogant he'd been before the race, the more humiliating his defeat was now.
The men in the stands had been struck speechless. They stared at Isabella like she was completely insane.
Who in their right mind would attempt such a reckless high-speed turn in a race?
Isabella had already reached the stands while her opponent was still crawling to the finish line—a full ten seconds slower.
Standing on the third step, Isabella looked down at the furious man with cold superiority, her lips curving into a mocking smile.
"Can't even beat a 'trophy girl'? Maybe you should run back to mommy for comfort, because racing doesn't need pathetic losers like you!"
Isabella deliberately emphasized every word, her sarcasm reaching maximum intensity.
After all, they were the ones who'd pointed at her face and called her a trophy girl.
The men couldn't argue back, and the frustration was eating them alive.
Talking big was one thing, but having your arrogance thrown back in your face was something else entirely!
Especially when the man who'd just humiliated them was supposedly Aetheria's strongest racer!
They already looked down on women, and now they'd been absolutely crushed by one. The taste of defeat was bitter as hell.
Olivia ran over laughing, her face bright with joy. "Yay! Mommy, you won!"
At this moment, Isabella radiated the unmistakable aura of a champion.
Though she felt she wasn't quite at her peak form yet, Isabella was satisfied with today's performance.
After all, she hadn't touched a steering wheel in eight years.
"Alright, your boss already lost to me, so pack up your toys and get the hell out of this training facility!"
Before the race, the man had sworn that whoever lost would have to leave.
Getting beaten by his own terms—now that had to sting.
Joseph walked over with a grin, congratulating Isabella before reaching out for their traditional victory high-five.
"Damn, I should've recorded that for Zack and Samantha! If they knew Isabella's skills were still sharp as ever, they'd be thrilled!"
Joseph saw Victoria in Isabella—confident, radiant, with that unmistakable winner's glow.
The man who'd lost to Isabella approached, his face dark with anger.
"Why the hell should I leave?" He let out a nasty laugh. "We're using this facility for training, and we already paid our fees! Even if you dragged the owner down here, he couldn't kick us out."
Since he couldn't win through skill, he'd switched to being a complete scumbag.
Isabella had dealt with sore losers before, but rarely ones this shameless.
A man who couldn't even honor his own bet—what was he even doing in racing?
His teammates, equally thick-skinned, picked up on their leader's signal and started causing a scene.
"Yeah, exactly! This isn't your private facility. Just because you say 'get out' doesn't mean we have to. We all paid the same fees—what makes you so special?"
One of them even pulled out his phone and started filming Isabella's face.
They didn't spare Olivia either, pointing the camera directly at the child.
Their invasive behavior instantly ignited Isabella's fury.
Isabella could tolerate them refusing to leave—at worst, she'd throw some verbal warnings their way.
But Olivia was Isabella's absolute red line. Touch her daughter, and Isabella would show no mercy.
"Stop filming right now. You're invading our privacy, or I'm calling the police!" Isabella shielded Olivia, covering her face with her hand.
These men were textbook bullies. Isabella's warning sounded like a harmless protest to their ears.
"Ooh, I'm so scared! Do you have any idea who backs our team? Mess with us, and you'll disappear without a trace from Seaside City!"
Now they'd escalated to direct threats.
Isabella's eyes narrowed to dangerous slits, her gaze radiating pure ice.
"And who exactly is this backer of yours?"
"Summit Holdings Corporation's Mr. Montagu—ever heard of William Montagu? Mr. Montagu just invested a massive sum in Snake Team's Aetheria Division. The entire Aetheria operation now falls under Summit Holdings Corporation!"
William's name was practically legendary in Seaside City.
Summit Holdings Corporation was equally famous, with business interests spanning virtually every industry. Even random kids on the street knew about Summit Holdings Corporation.
Isabella froze when she heard that name.
Not him again?
William was like a persistent ghost, always finding ways to haunt her life.
Even when he wasn't physically present, he managed to affect her in the most bizarre ways—just like now.
Isabella's shock registered as fear to the men watching.
Well, who in Seaside City wouldn't be afraid of 'Mr. Montagu'?
The man who could make the entire city tremble with a single word!
The man waved his phone smugly. "Picked the wrong team to mess with, lady. You're finished. Just wait and see!"
Isabella found their situation almost amusing.
How did these idiots manage to keep running their mouths about things that played directly into her strengths?
What would their reaction be if they discovered the woman they'd just filmed was the daughter of the very man they were name-dropping?
Would they still be laughing so arrogantly?
Olivia carefully took Isabella's hand and gave it a gentle shake, asking with worry in her voice:
"They seem to be calling Daddy. If Daddy comes, will he make us leave?"
Despite being just a child, Olivia had already sensed the tension between her parents.
She was terrified that this incident might trigger another fight between them.
Isabella crouched down and pulled Olivia into her arms.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. As long as Mommy's here, no one—and I mean no one—will hurt you."
After saying this, Isabella gently stroked Olivia's head in comfort.
Turning to face those smug men, Isabella's mood had plummeted to absolute zero.
