Chapter 100: A Gift for You
Infinity Ventures Corporation.
Richard had also seen the post that had shot to the top of trending topics and sparked massive discussion within the industry.
But what he was watching was the video Nina had downloaded online last night.
This heart-pounding footage had a second half that most people hadn't seen.
After the person filming saw the red sports car come to a stop, they gasped and zoomed in on their phone camera.
Despite the distance and blurry phone video quality, Richard could immediately recognize that the person stepping out of the red Ferrari was actually Isabella.
"Mr. Spencer, I saw this video trending last night and thought this person looked a bit like Ms. Capulet, so I immediately had our PR department contact the video's creator," Nina said, standing beside Richard. She paused the video and disconnected her phone from the projector.
Richard rubbed his forehead. "Good work."
If this video spread online, there was a risk William might see it too.
Going viral was a disaster for ordinary people. Internet fame would definitely not be good news for Isabella—it could very likely affect her work and personal life.
"Though I really didn't expect Ms. Capulet, who takes the subway to and from work every day, to be such an amazing driver!" Nina said admiringly, then added without thinking, "I saw all the online comments praising Ms. Capulet for having the style of a professional race car driver!"
"I also watched some of Victoria's race videos yesterday. Even though she's a female racer, her technique and abilities are truly impressive!"
After Nina left the office, Richard opened his phone and searched for information about Victoria online.
Victoria: professional race car driver, former member of the Romantic Racing Team, one of the team's main drivers and founding members.
However, despite Victoria having millions of followers online, there wasn't a single video showing her face. Every time she appeared on the podium, she wore a heavy helmet.
Judging by her build, she did bear some resemblance to Isabella.
Richard leaned back in his office chair.
He couldn't stop thinking about the video Nina had just shown him.
The footage was blurry, but Isabella's bold presence was unmistakable.
It was completely different from how Isabella appeared during work hours—so different it was almost like watching two different people.
Richard suddenly remembered something and got up to leave his office.
...
That evening, Isabella was sitting in the living room helping Olivia with her drawing while waiting for Mary to finish cooking dinner.
Just then, her phone rang.
She picked it up and saw it was Richard calling.
"Hello, Mr. Spencer."
"Are you free right now? I'm downstairs at your building."
Isabella was startled, and the crayon she was holding dropped onto the table. "Mr. Spencer, what's going on? Why didn't you give me a heads up?"
"Bring Olivia down with you. I found a really good restaurant—Julia loves their chocolate cake, and I think Olivia would too."
The aroma of dinner was already wafting from the kitchen, so Isabella quickly declined. "We've already made dinner at home. How about next time?"
"The restaurant is hard to get into—you need advance reservations. They called me just before closing time today, which reminded me."
Isabella didn't want to refuse repeatedly, so she covered the phone and asked Olivia, "Mr. Spencer is downstairs waiting. He says he wants to take you for some really delicious chocolate cake. Want to go?"
At the mention of dessert, Olivia immediately bounced up from the sofa, sweetly called out "Thank you, Mr. Spencer!" toward the phone, then ran into her room to change clothes.
Isabella had no choice but to agree to Richard's invitation.
She walked to the kitchen door and told Mary about the sudden change of plans, then headed downstairs with Olivia.
Richard had changed out of his work clothes into a t-shirt and casual pants, looking approachable and much less formal.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Isabella realized she'd seen this place's name online before.
It was famously delicious, but also famously expensive—not the kind of place people would choose unless it was for special occasions.
After they'd eaten their fill and Olivia had enjoyed her long-awaited chocolate cake, contentedly swaying her head with satisfaction, Isabella looked at Richard.
"Mr. Spencer, did you need something from me? Surely you didn't just want to treat us to dinner?"
Richard smiled slightly. "I should have known nothing gets past you."
"I have a little gift prepared for you that I wanted to give you."
"A gift?" Isabella was even more puzzled.
Why would Richard suddenly want to give her a gift?
Olivia also looked at Richard curiously, counting on her fingers. "It's not Mommy's birthday yet, and there aren't any holidays coming up either. Why does Mr. Spencer want to give Mommy a present?"
The innocent question echoed Isabella's own confusion as both mother and daughter gazed at Richard with curiosity.
"You'll understand when you see it," Richard said, getting up to call the server for the check before leading the way.
The elevator went straight down to the basement level—the underground parking garage.
Isabella followed behind Richard, her confusion growing stronger.
Until his footsteps suddenly stopped in front of a car.
Isabella slowly turned around following his movement, and the moment she saw the vehicle, her eyes widened slightly.
A Pagani Zonda Cinque—one of only eight ever made worldwide—was parked right in front of Isabella.
This car had been released many years ago. Isabella and Zack had once joked that if they could drive a Pagani Zonda in their lifetime, they'd have no regrets.
Because it was a limited global edition, buying this model required more than just money—you needed connections and influence.
This single car currently had a market price starting at $15 million in Aetheria.
Just seeing an actual Zonda in person left Isabella stunned and speechless, her eyes constantly taking in every detail of the car.
The black and white color scheme was particularly striking and cool, but also made everything feel surreal to Isabella.
"I remember the last time a Pagani Zonda appeared was at an overseas auction house. Where did you buy this one, Mr. Spencer?" Isabella asked in amazement.
Forget driving it—just being able to see the actual car was incredibly exciting for Isabella.
Richard took in every expression on Isabella's face, a gentle smile playing at the corners of his lips.
"I used to think racing looked really cool when I watched other people do it, so I went to great lengths to buy this car. But right after I got it, I started my company, and it's just been sitting in my garage ever since, never getting driven."
He pulled out his phone, found the video of Isabella driving from last night, and said, "I saw the video of you driving last night, so I figured rather than letting this car waste away in my garage, I'd give it to you. Make good use of it—that way it won't be a complete waste."
