Chapter 131 Keep an eye on her
Molly’s POV
Wesley’s words echoed in my ears as I reflected on all of Gianni's promises, starting with his vow to reclaim everything for me.
It may have taken time, but if things had unfolded quickly, Kiara and Wesley would not have ended up in prison, as I would not have discovered their involvement in my parents' death.
Marie was merely a pawn, and for a moment, I almost doubted Gianni. Tears clouded my vision as I clutched Gianni tightly, overwhelmed with happiness. Gianni had retrieved everything that Wesley had stolen from me.
"I am a mother, Molly. Please reconsider," Kiara pleaded, kneeling before me, but Roger swiftly pulled me away.
"Don't touch my mother," he warned her, his tone cold and intimidating. "That boy is dangerous," someone in the crowd remarked, eliciting laughter as I addressed Kiara.
"Wesley's parents are alive. They will take care of your son," I assured her. Wesley interjected, "But you took everything. Those documents are my life."
I shook my head, realizing that he was willing to let me suffer to maintain his facade of wealth and power.
"You mean the documents you stole from me. Wesley, not long ago, you gave the mansion you claimed to have built for me to Kiara and divorced me. You even sent men to harass me. If not for Gianni, I would be dead like my parents," I confronted him.
"Molly, please, let's discuss this," Wesley pleaded, but I turned to Gianni and declared, "I'm done with them."
The police officers escorted them away as Gianni kissed me passionately on the lips. Congratulations," he said as the camera flashes from the audience and professional photographer never stopped.
Despite my enjoyment of watching their sorry faces being publicly humiliated, as I had experienced years ago, the pain of my parents' death weighed heavily on my heart.
Wrapping my arm around his neck, I whispered in his ear, "But it's not over. I don't want them to go to prison and have the chance to be released on the grounds of good behavior or anything," I said as his lips met mine again.
"It's done," he assured me. The significance of his words only sank in during my interactions with fans. Roger stood by Hank as the news spread like wildfire.
"Breaking news: Wesley Thompson, the CEO of a rising company, and his girlfriend, Kiara Campbell, a former music star, have been reported dead after a tragic accident while being transported to the police station following the revelation of their crimes at Molly's concert," the article on my phone read.
Some of my fans must have seen it and began commenting on the news. ‘They deserved it. Hope they burn in hell.’
‘Despicable beings. They don't deserve to live.’
The more I read the comments, the wider my smile became. Gianni's connections were so tight that a shiver ran down my spine. The operation was executed cleanly, with no injuries to the officers and no trace back to us. It seems being married to a mafia boss has its perks.
Despite the news, the moment was not ruined. After everything was resolved, we celebrated at the club.
Since Roger was on vacation, we arranged for him to stay at a hotel until he fell asleep before joining us at the club.
Two bodyguards were assigned to ensure Roger's safety. Marie joined us at the club and began flirting with Hank.
"Thanks for saving me, Hank. I owe you," she said flirtatiously, brushing an invisible thread off his face.
My backup singers, except Nora, were celebrating with their friends in a separate VIP booth, leaving just the five of us here: me, Gianni, Hank, Nora, and Marie.
The bodyguards didn’t add to the numbers, watching the entrance of the booth.
Hank didn't seem to appreciate the flirting and remained silent until Marie sat on his lap.
Nora said something I couldn't hear and abruptly left the booth with her drink, prompting Gianni to instruct Zak, "Keep an eye on her. She's vulnerable when drunk."
A shadow crossed Hank's eyes, and he pushed Marie away. "I'll go check on something."
Disappointed, Marie tried to follow him. "I'm coming with you."
"Don't," Hank replied coldly. Marie looked embarrassed and turned to Gianni for assistance.
"Don, can you set me up? Is he single?"
After the incident with Nora, Gianni and I chose not to involve ourselves in relationship matters.
"We're not living in the eighties, Marie. Remember your position," Gianni advised.
Their relationship was formal, and Gianni only allowed her to join us because of the good work she did and its timing.
"Sorry, I will go dance," she said and left the booth as Gianni instructed another bodyguard. "Watch her."
Only Gianni and I remained in the booth. When I requested to dance, he insisted that I dance in the booth, watching me closely.
I didn't know how much time had passed, but chaos broke out in the club. "Don, it's Hank," Jace reported.
Gianni rushed out to see four men bleeding on the floor. Hank was carrying an unconscious Nora in his arms.
"What the heck happened?" Gianni asked. Hank continued to kick the four men on the floor before his burning gaze landed on Marie.
Gianni seemed to synchronize his actions and reactions, his attention shifting to Marie. "What did you do?"
