Chapter 274 What is a Six-Year-Old Doing
Chapter 274 What is a Six-Year-Old Doing
Dinner was very sumptuous, and Sienna ate with great gusto. She would eat anything expensive with relish.
Quinn, a little person, had impeccable table manners. He chewed his food with his mouth closed, making no sound.
The more Sienna looked at Quinn, the cuter she found him. Unable to resist, she reached out and pinched his cheek.
Quinn, alert, covered his right cheek. "What are you doing?"
His words broke the quiet of the meal. Matthew and Sam stopped and looked at her.
Sienna inwardly scorned her lack of self-control and said in a tone used to coax children, "I think you got some food on your face."
Quinn rolled his eyes and bluntly pointed out, "I never drop food on my face. You were just pinching me."
Sienna fell silent.
Matthew leaned on his chin and looked at her. "Sienna, do you like him?"
She only liked Quinn's appearance! Quinn's personality was just not cute enough!
Sam slowly cut his steak. "Matthew, do you only know me and Sienna?"
Matthew smiled. "You know, I don't like socializing."
Sam took a sip of wine. "Butler, your bodyguard, professional agency—you can always hire someone to keep him alive."
Matthew sighed. "I've considered that, but Quinn has some of my genes. Ordinary people can't handle him, and they'll be played around."
Sienna suddenly realized, understanding what had been off all along. She didn't interact much with children and didn't know what a six-year-old should be like, but she had unknowingly treated him like an adult.
After all, there aren't many six-year-olds who know how to use language to sarcastically mock others, right?
Sam shook his head. "No, I'm busy."
As soon as he finished speaking, tears welled up in Quinn's eyes, and his shoulders trembled slightly, as if he was forcibly suppressing his tears.
Unfortunately, Sam was unmoved, looking at him coldly.
Seeing that crying didn't work on him, Quinn quickly changed tactics and turned to win over Sienna. With long eyelashes wet with tears, a look of wanting to cry but forcing himself not to, it was so adorable. It was so hard for her to refuse him with that face!
"Ms. Bush," Quinn stubbornly bit his lip, "you're so beautiful, you wouldn't leave me alone, right?"
Wasn't he mocking her for being ugly and stupid just a few minutes ago?
She knew these tears and pitiful look were all an act. She even foresaw that if she really took Quinn back, he would definitely secretly mock her. But in this moment, Sienna just wanted to comfort him!
A six-year-old kid crying like this! Who could resist!
"It's just for a week," Sienna cautiously suggested. "It would be nice to have someone at home with me. Otherwise, you're usually at work, and it's just me at home, so boring."
Sam looked at her quietly for a moment before finally relenting. "I don't like having strangers in the house, so we can move in here."
Matthew wasn't surprised at all and said with a smile, "Great, the guest rooms are all cleaned up, feel free to choose."
Quinn also stopped crying. "Ms. Bush, you're so kind!" As he said that, he leaned in to give Sienna a peck on the cheek.
This time, he almost succeeded. Sienna watched as Sam grabbed Quinn by the back of his neck and pulled him to another chair. He then leaned in and whispered something in Quinn's ear.
Quinn's face turned pale, he tightly pressed his lips together, nodding as if he had been frightened.
For the rest of the meal, Quinn ate in silence, not daring to look towards Sienna.
After dinner, Sam had to go back to get his laptop, so he left Sienna at the villa. Quinn was playing with a game console on the sofa, giving her a chance to be alone with Matthew!
She racked her brains for a topic, but Matthew stood up and said, "Since we have some time, let me show you around here."
"Okay." Sienna stood up foolishly and followed him upstairs.
The upstairs decor was similar to downstairs, but with a focus on comfort rather than luxury.
She was wondering why Matthew stopped when she suddenly felt a tightness around her waist, a sharp pain in her back, and before she could react, she found herself pushed against the wall by Matthew.
Matthew's shadow completely enveloped her, with his back to the light, Sienna couldn't see his expression clearly. But he held her chin, and a heavy kiss landed on her lips.
Sienna was taken by surprise, her mind went blank, and she let Matthew kiss her without resistance.
Matthew's kisses were not deep, but they were very lingering. Every time he kissed her, Sienna felt as if she was his beloved, with gentle bites on her lower lip and a soft touch of his tongue.
"Mr. Moore..."
"Don't speak."
"But..."
Her mouth was covered again, and Sienna futilely grabbed at Matthew's shirt front, as if it could alleviate the feeling of suffocation.
"It's not fair."
A sudden complaint was heard, and Sienna reflexively pushed Matthew away, looking over in shock to see Quinn.
Quinn had somehow come upstairs as well and was now standing there, pouting with his arms crossed, looking disapproving.
Quinn said coolly, "Mr. Johnson told me that if I dared to kiss you, he would kill me. So why can Uncle Matthew kiss you?"
Before Matthew could speak, Sienna hurriedly explained, "No, he was just joking with you."
Quinn looked at her with a caring expression. "Can't you even tell if he's joking or serious? Pathetic."
Matthew calmly said, "Go back to your room, Quinn."
Quinn obediently closed his mouth.
Sienna realized that Quinn was indeed afraid of Matthew. Despite having a blood relationship, they should have been closer, but to her, it felt more like a superior-subordinate relationship.
"Wait," Sienna stopped them, "Children at this age love to play and have fun. What's the point of locking themselves in their rooms every day?"
Matthew bit his lip. "But I want to be alone with you."
He was being straightforward.
He hugged her, rested his chin on her shoulder, and took a deep breath in her neck. "I miss you so much. Being away from you for so long, I'm going crazy."
Sienna coughed lightly. "It hasn't been that long, has it?"
"26 days, 15 hours, 36 minutes, and 21 seconds."
Sienna forced a smile. "That's quite a while."
Matthew lightly kissed her earlobe. "Let's make love."
Sienna quickly covered his mouth. Quinn was still there!
Quinn, however, coolly said, "I'll go back to my room. Remember to call me out when you're done. I don't want to open the door and see you two naked."
Sienna, feeling embarrassed, tried to cover up, "No, your uncle doesn't mean that."
"It's okay, I understand," Quinn said with a knowing look. "I've studied middle school biology, you guys want to make a baby."
Sienna wished she could just disappear!
Matthew put his arm around Sienna's waist and raised an eyebrow at Quinn. "Are you just going to stand there?"
Quinn pouted. "Got it, Uncle Matthew."
With that, Quinn turned and went back to his room.
Sienna felt it was necessary to discuss early childhood education with Matthew. She pushed away Matthew's hand lightly caressing her thigh. "Look at what you've turned your nephew into!"
Matthew stopped and asked, "He is a bit slow, but not that bad, right?"
Sienna rolled her eyes silently. 'A six-year-old studying middle school biology, and you call him slow?'
"No," Sienna rubbed her temples, "he's only six, right? Why are you teaching him those things? Six-year-olds should be enjoying their childhood."
Matthew thought for a moment and said seriously, "What was your six like?"
"Me?" Sienna tried to remember, "I can't quite recall, just going to kindergarten, playing with other kids."
Matthew gave her a mysterious smile. "What was your earliest memory?"
"Probably at three years old?"
"My earliest memory was at eighteen days old. I had memories even when I couldn't see clearly in front of me."
Sienna was speechless.
"This is something I've been hesitant to mention to you, as it might seem arrogant," Matthew lowered his eyelashes slightly, looking a bit embarrassed, "but there is indeed a huge gap between our understanding and perception of the world, and this gap is at the genetic level."
Sienna sighed helplessly. "Just say there's an intelligence gap, I get it."
Matthew said, "Quinn is my sister's child, you can't raise him like a normal child."
Sienna took a deep breath. "Can you tell me, what does your sister do for a living?"
Matthew hesitated for a moment, then smiled. "She's not in research, just an ordinary person, currently working on Willow Street."
Willow Street? Ordinary? It was the financial center of the entire world!
Sienna was dizzy from the series of information, but she still weakly argued, "But isn't it a bit early for a six-year-old to study middle school biology?"
Matthew smiled. "Do you want to know what I was doing at six?"
"...Never mind. Not interested."
Matthew saw her feeling down and said with a tinge of self-blame, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said those things."
"No," Sienna waved her hand. "You're right, we should tailor education to the individual. I forgot that your family members don't fit the standard for normal people."
Matthew kissed her cheek lightly. "Shall we continue?"
Sienna pushed him away mercilessly. "No, I need some time to myself."
