Chapter 137 So Angry I Could Die

Chapter 137 So Angry I Could Die

"I..."

Bella's emotions had settled down quite a bit by now.

She looked around and her eyes lit up.

She got out of bed and walked to the foot of it.

Picking up the roses on the floor, she felt a pang of heartache.

"You're just wasting money! How much did this cost? You can't even eat them."

Benedict smiled, "Flowers for a beautiful woman, it's only right. It didn't cost much. What's money anyway? Can you eat it?"

"And you can eat flowers?"

Bella rolled her eyes at him.

But deep down, she was a little happy.

All women loved flowers.

So many roses, red, white, yellow, pink, blue, arranged in a beautiful pattern.

Each flower was so fresh and vibrant.

The whole room was filled with the intoxicating scent of roses.

Benedict hadn't bought her flowers in five years!

"Let's not talk about that. Look for the property deeds, you're almost there," Benedict said with a smile.

Bella looked seriously at the bouquet in her hands.

It was heavy, so she placed it at the foot of the bed and searched inside.

Sure enough, she found them.

Two brand new property deeds. She opened them.

They were real!

Both had only Bella's name on them.

Bella couldn't help but feel excited.

She glanced at Benedict, a slight smile on her lips.

Her pride kept her from showing too much excitement.

Benedict smiled, "Bella, congratulations, you're now a woman worth over a billion."

"A billion? It feels like a dream!"

Bella pouted slightly, waving the property deeds.

"Dreams are good. When dreams come true, it's even better! From now on, dream big, tell me about them, and I'll work to make them happen."

"You always know what to say! Why isn't your name on the deeds?"

Benedict stood up, serious, "I owe you. The properties, the houses, the cars, they're all what I owe you. So I don't deserve to have my name on them."

Money was just a material thing, Benedict never cared about it.

Bella was silent.

Benedict had become so eloquent.

Everything he did was astonishing.

Her negative emotions had dissipated.

At least the material security of this home was enough.

She stared at Benedict, not knowing what to say.

Benedict touched his face, "Bella, why are you looking at me like that?"

"You don't seem like the old you. I can't believe all this."

"Alright, I'll go back to being the old me, as David wishes, okay?"

"No, you..." Bella quickly said, "David will definitely come after you when he gets back, what will you do?"

She was still a bit anxious.

Benedict was strong, but David was even scarier!

Benedict calmly said, "From Albert's surveillance, I can tell David has changed a lot. He's become stronger, more arrogant. The innocent boy he once was is no longer pure."

Bella blushed.

Benedict continued, "But he still has genuine feelings for you, that's clear, and I'm satisfied with that."

"You..."

"If he wants to come after me, that's his right. A man's revenge for dignity and love, I can understand. But I can't back down or be afraid just because he's strong. Grudges have to be settled eventually. You don't need to get involved. This is between men."

"But you guys..." Bella was really worried.

Benedict waved his hand, "Bella, don't overthink it. You should reconsider your work and life. Whatever you do, I'll support, accommodate, and respect you. Because you deserve the right to independence and freedom, and you're not stupid, you're smart. I'll just be your support."

Bella sighed, not knowing what to say.

Was this really Benedict?

The domineering, unreasonable, drunken, gambling, irredeemable jerk, where did he go?

His composure, maturity, and steadiness.

His gentleness, openness, and generosity.

David couldn't compare to Benedict now.

Even if David had a high position, a lot of money.

Even the tone of Benedict's voice now was magnetic.

It was pleasant to listen to.

In contrast, David's voice was a bit effeminate.

"Alright, Bella, you need time to digest my words. It's getting late. If you're hungry, we can go out for a late-night snack. If not, let's rest. You sleep on the bed, I'll..."

Benedict looked around the room and smiled, "I'll sleep on the couch, or get another room."

Bella was a bit frustrated. "Aren't you going to sleep on the bed?"

"I..." Benedict shook his head, smiling bitterly, "My illness isn't cured, and the hospital hasn't given any news. Forget it, I don't want to disturb your rest."

Bella smiled bitterly, shaking her head, "I really don't understand you. With your own wife, you're now so polite, not even sleeping together. If you really want to change, be good to this family, be good to me, then sleep on the bed! I'm going to take a shower."

"You haven't showered yet?"

"After hearing about you, do you think I was in the mood to shower? I was so angry!" Bella said with a bit of a pout.

"It's my fault. I thought if I took care of everything, everyone would be happy, and you wouldn't have to worry. Go on, take your shower!"

Bella went to the bathroom, turned at the door, blushing, her heart beating a bit fast.

"Benedict!"

"Yes?"

"Can you help me scrub my back?"

Benedict stood up, moved his hand, then pulled it back, looking out the window.

"Forget it, Bella, I don't dare, it's too hard. I'll buy you a back scrubber instead!"

Bella pretended to look disdainful and smiled, then went into the bathroom.

But deep down, she was a bit satisfied.

He really had changed.

If it were before, by now...

She would be covered in bruises.

When she came out of the bathroom, she smiled bitterly again.

She felt a strange touch in her heart, a bit of reluctance.

On the small couch, Benedict was sitting there.

His long legs stretched out, his body slumped, already asleep.

Thinking about Albert's report, it was already past seven in the evening.

He had driven over five hundred miles in just over four hours.

It really moved her.

But he was too tired.

Bella called out a few times, but Benedict didn't wake up.

So, Bella went over and pulled him a few times.

Benedict groggily opened his eyes. "Stop it, Bella, I'm tired, I need to sleep."

"Take a shower and sleep on the bed!"

"Stop it, I need to sleep. If you keep it up, I'll go back to being the old jerk."

"You..."

Bella was secretly alarmed.

But she had to give up.

She lay down on the bed.

Occasionally turning to look at Benedict, she felt a bit more at ease.

Benedict had really changed, he was a gentleman.

When Bella woke up, it was already six in the morning.

Benedict was no longer in the room.

Bella thought about it, knowing Benedict's style.

He was probably out for a morning run again?

A man who loves exercise is actually quite good.

And when he came back from running, her breakfast would probably be ready too.

Thinking about his thoughtfulness, Bella felt warm inside.

Why not try to cherish such a husband?

Why not try to cultivate some feelings?
