Chapter 80 Mistress's Wedding Photos
Henry asked quietly, "Why are you so happy?"
Joy wasn't common for Grace, especially with her complicated relationship with Henry. Holding her phone, she muttered, "Something I've wanted forever is finally in stock!"
Henry assumed it was some luxury item like jewelry. He smiled. "What is it? I'll get it for you."
Grace just clutched her phone and walked barefoot into the closet. Henry called after her, "You always have your phone. Hiding something? Added some young, handsome guy on Facebook?"
In the closet, Grace picked out an outfit and changed. She said softly, "What secrets could I have? Isn't Harmony City your turf? Revisiting old haunts must be nostalgic for you!"
Henry felt a twinge. He followed her, leaning against the door, watching her calm demeanor. "I don't have anything with Elodie! I never touched her! That photo was taken secretly."
Grace smiled indifferently and pulled on black polka-dot stockings. Her legs looked incredibly sexy in them.
Henry might have liked her outfit, but he couldn't hide his discontent. "It's freezing outside, and you're wearing that?"
Grace walked past him to the bathroom. "Should I go bare-legged under my coat and dress?"
Henry frowned. "Don't you have thicker ones?"
As Grace washed her hands, she met Henry's eyes in the mirror. After a pause, she said softly, "Henry, if my outfit bothers you, I'll wear something warmer next time. I still need you to help Oliver with the lawsuit. Can't risk upsetting you, right?"
Henry seethed at her sarcasm but held back. Silently fuming, he followed Grace to the Harmony City Opera Center. Gavin, from Harmony City, was debuting his his launch site of the classical music tour.
When they arrived, the person in charge greeted Grace warmly, "Ms. Windsor, welcome."
Grace nodded. The person then noticed Henry. "And this is?"
Henry glanced at Grace, then shook hands with the person. "I'm Ms. Windsor's husband."
The person understood. "So Ms. Windsor is already married at such a young age!"
Grace glanced at Henry. He gracefully excused himself and sat in the audience, watching Grace oversee everything from stage design to lighting. She moved with command, her soft voice cutting through the chaos. Beautiful women like her always seemed to bring efficiency to the workplace.
With all the lights adjusted, Grace stood center stage and played a violin piece to test the effect. Under the lights, her posture was captivating, and her bowing was classical. Her profile was flawless.
She was so radiant that it moved Henry. His breathing became erratic, but he couldn't look away. Just watching her from a distance satisfied him. He felt a soft spot in his heart tremble.
Henry knew he had fallen for Grace. Just as he was overwhelmed with emotion, his phone rang. It was Celeste calling.
As Henry stole another glance at Grace, he didn't realize this would be the last time he'd see her dazzling performance, her talent shining brightly in the field she loved.
Henry answered Celeste's urgent call, her voice a mix of shock and panic. "Mr. Montague, something's happened!"
"Go on," Henry said, his usual calm now tinged with worry.
Henry, not yet 30, was known for his cool demeanor in business, but Celeste's next words shattered his composure.
Celeste lowered her voice. "You let Elodie take some photos as a keepsake. I was busy with my wedding prep and handed it over to other assistant. This morning, Elodie posted those photos on Instagram from Tranquil Heights with a provocative caption: [The unloved one is the one who destroys love.]"
Henry's grip on the phone tightened, his knuckles white. In a flash, he formulated a plan. "Contact Instagram immediately. Pay whatever it takes, but get that post removed! Grace can't see it."
Celeste replied, "We can do that, but the post's already been shared 100,000 times. Deleting it now is pointless. I'm sorry, Mr. Montague, it's my fault!"
The room fell silent, tension thick. Henry's voice cut through, soft but firm. "Do it anyway."
After hanging up, Henry met Grace's gaze. She was still on stage, the lights on her, but her usual glow was gone, leaving her pale and unsettled.
Grace had seen Elodie's post. It wasn't the scandalous content that hurt; it was Elodie's audacity to intrude on Tranquil Heights, her parents' love nest. Elodie was Henry's mistress. The revelation hit Grace hard.
It turned out that Henry had bought Tranquil Heights. Now Henry was allowing Elodie to wear a white wedding dress there, taking seductive photos at there.
Grace's heart shattered, a devastating blow to her and the Windsor family. The humiliation cut deep, inflicted by Henry, the man who once called her Mrs. Montague and professed his love. Did he really deserve her love?
Grace looked at Henry, her eyes filled with unfamiliarity and hatred. The thing she cared about most was easily destroyed by him.
How would the world talk about Donna? Grace was incompetent, letting a maid's daughter, Elodie, trample and humiliate her. The family was unfortunate, allowing Elodie into Henry's bed!
Grace laughed softly as Henry approached. "Actually, Elodie is right. The unloved one destroys love! Henry, despite our past grievances, I thought we could move past them. Even if we divorced, we could part amicably. We grew up together. But now you let Elodie trample on me and the Windsor family, showing off to the world? You may not care about your reputation, but I do, and so does my father!"
"Grace," Henry called out.
Grace slapped him. "Henry, you disgust me!"
Henry didn't move or grab her hand. He even asked gently, "Feel better now?"
Grace's chest heaved. At that moment, the person in charge hurried over and asked cautiously, "Ms. Windsor, shall we continue with the rehearsal?"
