Chapter 388 It's Just a Physiological Reaction
Oliver got the gist and sneered, "So, who are you backing, Sarah or Dylan? Last I checked, you had no ties with either of them!"
Felix didn't mince words, "It's for Grace! I haven't forgotten her all these years."
Oliver shot back, "If you can't forget her, why'd you get married? Why mess up another woman's life?"
Felix smirked, "Didn't you mess up Sarah's life too? At least my ex and I split on good terms. I even paid a hefty sum to let her leave the Rodriguez family with dignity. Unlike you, who can't afford to lose. The moment you let go, Sarah will take the kids and bolt."
Oliver realized Felix was just pretending to drink with him to throw shade.
Feeling ticked off but not wanting to lose his cool, Oliver left the club and got into his car.
The driver turned around and asked softly, "Mr. Windsor, need some hangover meds?"
Oliver closed his eyes and said, "This little bit of alcohol won't affect me. Don't start the car yet; I need to call Sarah."
The driver, who had been with him for ages, waited patiently.
Oliver pulled out his phone and dialed Sarah's number, but she didn't pick up. He knew she was ignoring him on purpose, so he kept calling.
Sarah declined the call again, and a second later, the phone rang like crazy again, but this time it showed a number from Windcrest, probably Ellie calling.
Sarah answered and snapped, "You should worry more about Oliver! He's drunk and acting nuts!"
Ellie could easily guess Oliver was in one of his unrequited love moods again.
Ellie went nuts and started blowing up Oliver's phone. When he didn't answer, she called Zoey, threatening to commit suicide. A crazy woman always found a way to make a man comply.
This went on until two in the morning. Oliver finally got back to the villa and sat in the car for a bit.
The place was super quiet; all the lights were off, except for a few garden lights flickering, looking lonely in the winter.
After a while, he opened the backseat door and walked into the foyer.
He didn't turn on the lights and made his way to the second floor in the dim light.
In the bedroom, the moonlight was soft.
Sarah was sleeping soundly next to the two kids, and as usual, there was no spot for him in the bed.
Oliver stood by the bed, loosening his tie in the cold moonlight, followed by his suit jacket and white shirt.
Sarah smelled the alcohol and opened her eyes.
"Awake?" Oliver stared at her, his tone cold and devoid of warmth. Before she could answer, he pressed down on her.
Sarah tried to struggle, but her slender limbs were pinned down, unable to move. "Oliver! Are you crazy?"
"Yeah, I am crazy!" Oliver was angry and deliberately rough with her.
He wasn't his usual gentle self. Sarah knew she couldn't escape, so she rarely softened and hugged his neck, "Go to the guest room! And use a condom!"
Oliver stopped and looked down at her. Even in the faint moonlight, he could see the slight redness at the corner of her eyes, on the verge of tears.
He didn't soften and whispered in her ear, "Why are you pushing me away?"
Sarah didn't have a chance to answer as he carried her to the next room.
It wasn't the guest room but his study.
The dark wooden desk was uncomfortable, cold, and hard. Oliver showed no tenderness, using all the crude moves he had reserved for unworthy women on Sarah, just to punish her for pushing him away.
There was a box of condoms in the drawer, but he didn't use them.
Oliver knew Sarah's cycle; she was in her safe period and wouldn't get pregnant. She hated him, but he wanted to see her lose control.
That night, they made love at least four times. When it was over, they lay on the couch, both panting heavily.
Sarah was too tired to speak, not even having the strength to move a finger. She lay quietly, her body covered in a fine layer of sweat.
Oliver, having vented his anger, was now calm. He hugged her from behind, his voice hoarse, "What are you thinking about?"
Sarah didn't answer.
He was used to her coldness and hugged her tighter, asking, "Did it feel good just now?"
Oliver knew the answer. As a mature man, he could tell if a woman enjoyed herself during sex, but he still wanted to hear her say it, to hear her say she felt good.
"No," Sarah, with her back to him, said indifferently, "It was just a physical reaction. I told you, it's the same with anyone!"
Oliver was a bit angry. But he had already worn her out for half the night, and he couldn't bear to be rough with her again, so he just held her for a long time.
Half asleep, it was already dawn. Outside the study, a servant knocked on the door, "Mr. Windsor, Mrs. Windsor's brother is here! He says his name is Dylan."
