Chapter 320 There Was Another Woman by His Side
Late at night, Oliver got back to the villa.
He pushed open the door to the master bedroom and immediately felt something was off.
The floor-to-ceiling curtains had been swapped out for light gauze ones with tulip patterns, their delicate branches and vines climbing gracefully on the soft fabric.
The moonlight outside seeped in, casting a gentle glow.
In the living room, there were some yarns and kids' clothes piled up. Oliver walked over and touched them, realizing those tiny clothes were way too big for Jacob.
He chuckled. It was Sarah's first time being a mom, and she had never taken care of a kid before, so she bought a bunch of wrong stuff on her first shopping trip.
He looked at Sarah, and his heart skipped a beat.
Sarah had fallen asleep on the couch, wearing a gem-pink nightgown. Her long hair lightly covered half of her face, the other half delicate and beautiful, gently nestled into the dark couch.
Oliver stood in front of her, looking down, loosening his tie.
He suddenly found Sarah very beautiful and gentle. In the past, only Grace had such a place in his heart, but now there was another.
But soon, he despised himself. He told himself, "Oliver, you brought her back to Evergreen City to live, you remarried her, not because you love her, but because of Jacob, because of Grace's advice, because you didn't want to keep hating."
Thinking of this, his previously softened heart hardened again.
They didn't love each other, but that didn't stop him from wanting her. He knew she wasn't on her period, and the passion Ellie had ignited in him at the hotel still burned.
He was eager to have sex with Sarah.
While Sarah was asleep, he leaned in to kiss her, passionately awakening her desires. After a while, Sarah finally woke up, opening her eyes to see Oliver's handsome face.
In the dim light, he looked really good, but he had a familiar woman's perfume scent on him, though it was faintly blown away by the wind. Sarah still recognized it as Ellie's favorite brand.
And on his shirt collar, there was a lipstick mark. Ellie, bold as she was, must have left it on purpose.
Originally, Sarah was half-awake, but now her mind was fully alert. She could also smell that special scent on Oliver, the lingering smell of a man after being aroused. He had had sex with another woman. He didn't even take a shower before wanting to have sex with her again.
Sarah felt cold all over. Oliver, what did he take her for!
She was forced to lie on the couch, her voice fragmented as she spoke, "Oliver, you can have sex with other women, but at the very least, you should give me basic respect."
Oliver frowned, looking at his shirt and then smelling himself. He had had sex with another woman, and Sarah knew it. He didn't care. He could easily take a shower now and then ask her to fulfill her wifely duties. He didn't have to care about her feelings. But a man's desire was a fleeting thing, and Oliver lost the desire to make love.
Oliver bent down, sat on the couch across from her, and casually picked up the yarn. It was gray, and he kind of thought it was for him, which made him feel a bit guilty about his fling with Ellie. His tone softened a lot, "Did you buy this for me?"
Before Sarah could respond, he added, "No need to go through the trouble, buying ready-made clothes is super convenient."
Sarah sat up, her face pale. She took the yarn from his hand, her slender fingers stroking the soft thread, a sense of melancholy filling her. After a while, she softly said, "It's for Jacob!"
Oliver's face stiffened. After a moment, he forced a smile, "Of course! Who else but Jacob?"
He couldn't keep the conversation going, so he coldly said, "I'm going to take a shower."
Oliver couldn't get the tenderness he wanted from Sarah, and he had no intention of being faithful to his wife, so he secretly continued his affair with Ellie.
For the next two months, he kept seeing Ellie.
At first, he only let Ellie give him blow jobs. But as time went on, things naturally escalated. Once, on a business trip to Twilight City, he stayed in a hotel with Ellie for three days, having sex all day.
But this relationship was different from before. Ellie had a boyfriend, and Oliver had some business dealings with the other family. He didn't want to make this relationship public. However, many people in their circle knew about it, but no one exposed it. That wealthy heir had already proposed to Ellie, making quite a scene. As for Sarah, although no one mentioned it to her, she was Oliver's wife and knew about it.
During those two months, Oliver never touched Sarah. She guessed he had a woman on the side but didn't care.
As spring turned to summer, her health worsened, her frail body unable to withstand Oliver's strength.
That day was Jacob's birthday.
Early in the morning, Sarah got up to oversee the cake-making in the kitchen.
How could she not take Jacob's birthday seriously? She couldn't give Jacob much, so she wanted to give him a perfect birthday. She had started decorating the villa and preparing Jacob's new clothes a week ago.
Sarah put on makeup to make herself look better. After finishing her tasks, she returned to the bedroom to wake Jacob.
He had grown up, able to walk and talk. Jacob lay in bed, sleeping soundly.
Sarah couldn't help but bend down to kiss him, about to wake him up, when her soft waist was embraced by Oliver, followed by his familiar whisper in her ear, "Don't wake him up yet, make love with me first."
Sarah was stunned. Since that night, Oliver hadn't sought her out for a long time. She thought he had a woman outside to satisfy his needs and didn't need her. Unexpectedly, he made a request today.
Sarah didn't want to make love with him, nor did she want to offend him, so she softly said, "Can we do it another day? Today is Jacob's birthday."
But Oliver didn't agree. Just waking up and seeing Sarah coming in through the door, the morning light on her face made her look particularly gentle, making him especially want to possess her.
