Chapter 295 Are You Abandoning Me?
That night, Oliver took a red-eye flight to Dawnstar.
When he got to the villa, the place was lit up like a Christmas wonderland. From the courtyard to the front door and into the grand hall, everything was decked out with twinkling star lights.
Sarah was still up, busy decorating the house. She was in her white pajamas, barefoot, and focused on hanging ornaments on the Christmas tree.
She looked delicate, with red lips and white teeth. Even after having Jacob, she still had that touch of innocence.
Oliver, looking worn out from his trip, still had a hint of Ellie's perfume on him. But the moment he saw Sarah, his heart skipped a beat.
For a second, it felt like he was back in the past. Sarah was 22 then, and she had accidentally bumped into him in a crowd. With everyone teasing her, she looked like a scared little rabbit. She was naive and quickly fell for him.
It wasn't until she rode on the back of a guy named Lester's bike that Oliver realized she was unhappy in their marriage. He punished her and even messed up Lester's hand, driving Sarah to the brink.
To this day, Oliver still didn't know if she was with Lester because she liked Lester.
But it didn't matter anymore—they were getting a divorce.
Oliver dropped the documents he was holding and walked over to Sarah. He hugged her from behind, holding her tight.
Sarah fell into his arms, panicking and trying to break free, but Oliver wouldn't let go. She finally gave up, whimpering softly, "Let go, I haven't finished decorating."
Instead of letting go, Oliver caressed her for a bit.
Sarah's body was soft, and in her struggle, a bit of her leg showed, stirring something in Oliver. He'd been busy lately and hadn't had sex in a while.
He picked her up and headed upstairs.
The crystal lights shone brightly, highlighting his sharp features and cold eyes. There was no tenderness, just a burning desire. They weren't divorced yet, so having sex was still on the table.
As they reached the second floor, the maid, Olivia Dixon, called out worriedly, "Mr. Windsor!"
Oliver didn't stop. He said coolly, "No need for a late-night snack. I'll be leaving in two hours."
Olivia got the picture right away, especially with the divorce papers on the table. What puzzled her was, if Oliver didn't care for Sarah anymore, why did he still want to sleep with her?
Thinking of Sarah's innocent face, Olivia couldn't help but mutter, "Jerk!"
Upstairs, in the master bedroom.
It had a ridiculously luxurious bed. Oliver had spent many nights with Sarah there.
Tonight would be no different.
Sarah was placed on the bed, her face brushing against the silk sheets as Oliver moved her around. His warm breath tickled her ear, making her shiver. "No underwear, huh?" he murmured.
He squeezed her breast, and when he was ready, he quickly unbuckled his belt and thrust into her. His body was hot, his need urgent, but Sarah just lay there, crying softly.
He held her, staring at her small face. "Feeling uncomfortable?" he asked.
Sarah shook her head wildly, tears streaming down her face, her body trembling in his arms. This was all for him, not her.
After a while, he lost interest and finished quickly.
Oliver got up, looking at the messy bed.
Sarah was still lying there, her thin shoulders covered in kiss marks, looking pitiful. He didn't leave right away but sat by the bed and lit a cigarette.
Sarah curled up, covering herself with the sheet, her innocent face streaked with tears.
Every time after sex, she looked like this.
Oliver's gaze darkened. He stared at her for a long time, then leaned over to put out the cigarette and got up to go downstairs.
After he left, Sarah's fingers loosened their grip on the sheet. Her small face looked lost, her heart pounding. She had a feeling Oliver's late-night visit was about the divorce.
Even after sex, he felt unsatisfied and thought it was meaningless.
Sure enough, after a while, footsteps sounded on the stairs again. Oliver appeared at the bedroom door.
Sarah still looked innocent, half-naked, her long hair tangled around her delicate body, a post-coital scene.
Oliver walked to the bed and sat down, placing the divorce papers in front of her. His voice was gentle, half-coaxing, half-deceiving, "Sign this, and I'll let you sleep."
Sarah appeared not to understand divorce.
She picked up the papers and looked at them, completely unaware that her body was half-exposed, nor did she notice Oliver's darkened gaze, his desire reigniting, but he held back.
Sarah couldn't satisfy him.
The papers had no property division, no issues about child custody. She had lost her sanity, and he planned to take care of her for life. Every year during the holidays, he would bring Jacob to see her.
Sarah didn't open the papers. She stared at the words for a long time, then looked up at him, her eyes teary. "Are you abandoning me?"
"Yes," Oliver replied quickly, but his voice was hoarse.
Sarah's innocent face looked lost for a long time. Her red eyes filled with tears. After a while, she knelt on the bed and moved towards him, grabbing his sleeve, her voice trembling and cautious. "Do you have another woman? What about Jacob? Will he stay with me?"
In that moment, she lost some of her innocence. Her face looked more refined.
Oliver stared at her for a long time before answering, "Jacob will stay with us."
Sarah was stunned.
