Chapter 180 You Want to Make Love That Badly?
Grace was stuck, no way out.
She clung to Henry like her life depended on it, 'cause if she let go, she'd be toast. His body was on fire, and her heart was about to jump out of her chest.
Henry grabbed the back of her neck, making her look at him.
Their eyes locked, his blue ones filled with that raw, primal need, and a hint of something deeper, like a storm brewing in the ocean.
Henry's voice was low, almost a growl. "You good now?"
It wasn't really a question.
Henry's touch never lied; after having the baby, Grace was even more irresistible.
Grace whimpered, "Just shut up!"
Henry kissed her hard, his hand pressing on her neck, like he wanted to consume her. The faint smell of tobacco on him seeped into her every pore.
Then, out of nowhere, Henry stopped.
He held her, staring at her face, seeing that look of someone used to giving in. His expression was a mess of emotions.
Henry let her go.
He sat on the edge of the bed, grabbed his pants, and put them on. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes, shook one out but didn't light it, just held it in his mouth, lost in thought.
Back in the day, when he wanted a smoke, he never held back.
Grace figured he must've found out about Taylor's illness, which was why he dragged her to the hotel, wanting to get it on.
But she had no clue why he stopped.
It was Grace's prime time to get pregnant, and after today, she'd have to wait until her next cycle. She didn't want to miss the chance, so despite all the bad blood between them, she hugged him from behind and softly asked, "Don't wanna do it?"
Henry turned to look at her.
Her hair was all messed up from their tussle, golden strands falling over her shoulders. She was curvy but slim, her face clean and young, like when they first got hitched.
Seeing his hesitation, Grace leaned in and kissed him. She held his lips, kissing him softly.
In all their married years, she'd never been this forward. Now, her seduction felt natural, and Henry definitely noticed. He didn't push her away, but he didn't dive in either. He just held her, playing with her gently, his voice teasing. "You want it that bad?"
Grace just hummed in response.
However, Henry paused. He picked up her clothes, placed them by the bed, his voice a bit rough. "Put 'em on! Don't catch a cold."
Grace hugged him, kissed him a couple more times.
Her face was flushed, showing a mix of shyness and lingering desire, but Henry seemed totally unfazed, even though his body said otherwise.
"Put 'em on!" Henry repeated, then grabbed his coat and walked to the living room. The lights were bright, casting long shadows.
Grace was wiped out, no way she could chase after him and beg. She knew Henry too well. If he didn't want to, he really didn't want to.
Her hands shook as she got dressed.
When she was ready to go, she tied her hair up again, and the pearl earrings on her delicate earlobes looked stunning.
Henry couldn't help but wonder, 'When Grace is in another man's bed, do those earrings sway gently? Does they make the guy want to nibble on her earlobe?'
He cared deeply but kept it to himself, his gaze dark and unreadable.
"Let's go!" Henry said.
They walked downstairs side by side.
As they stepped out of the elevator, a gust of night wind hit them. New guests were arriving; young couples clung to each other, inseparable.
Henry stood there, lost in thought, suddenly remembering his first time with Grace. It wasn't exactly a fairy tale, but it was wild and unforgettable, which was why he ended up marrying her.
He glanced at Grace, who was also watching the couple, her eyes a bit misty, lost in her own memories.
Henry wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
When they checked out, the receptionist gave them a look that was hard to read.
'Mr. Montague is so quick!' she thought.
The computer showed it had only been half an hour, and in that short time, they had to clean up, exchange kisses and hugs, and move in and out of the room.
She handed the receipt to Henry, saying respectfully, "Mr. Montague, have a good day!"
Henry caught on to what she was thinking, gave her a look; his blue eyes flashed with a hint of anger, making the receptionist almost too scared to meet his gaze.
After they left, the receptionist let out a breath. "It scared me a lot!"
In the parking lot, Sawyer didn't expect Henry to be so quick. He had just had a drink and was about to doze off when he heard a knock on the car window. He looked up to see Henry outside.
Sawyer quickly got out of the car.
Henry extended his hand. "Give me the car keys, I'll drive myself."
Sawyer hurriedly handed the keys to Henry, grabbed his cup, and went to get a cab, nodding to Grace as he left. "Mrs. Montague!"
Grace didn't correct him. Exhausted, she just wanted to crash in the back seat, but Henry opened the passenger door for her. "Hop in," he said. She had to sit beside him.
On the drive, Henry didn't say much, and she couldn't figure out what was going on in his head.
She thought the night would just end like that.
But when the car stopped, Henry suddenly pulled her into a hug. He had just quit smoking, but there was still a faint smell of tobacco on him.
He didn't say a word, just found her lips and kissed her.
They kissed in all sorts of ways, both staying silent.
Grace was way more forward than before. She gently unbuttoned his shirt, her slender fingers undoing his belt. The skin on his abdomen was warm, his muscles tight.
Henry rarely hit the gym, but his body was always in great shape, with lean muscles covering his tall, well-proportioned frame, almost perfect.
Henry caught Grace's hand, his gaze intense.
He said hoarsely, "That's enough." He meant he didn't want to go any further.
Grace let go and silently returned to her seat, fixing her own disheveled state. They both knew what had almost happened, but neither said a word about their desires or feelings.
They were only together for the kid, but clearly, neither could let go.
The car was filled with a charged atmosphere. Grace tidied herself up and softly said, "I'll go up."
Henry originally wanted to go upstairs to see Taylor, but seeing Grace's expression, he figured she probably wanted to be alone, so he just said, "I'll come to pick up Taylor in a couple of days! Grace, let's have dinner together."
Grace got what Henry meant.
She didn't refuse, softly said okay, then hoarsely added, "I'm getting out."
Henry caught her hand.
He looked at her and gently asked, "You still hate me, don't you?"
Grace knew that telling the truth would ruin the moment.
But she didn't want to lie to Henry, and she couldn't lie to herself. She softly and vaguely hummed, then quickly left.
The car door closed softly. Her faint perfume and the lingering scent of their intimacy still hung in the air, a sensation Henry could still sense.
He wasn't devoid of desires as a man. When he embraced Grace, his body yearned. He truly longed to be intimate.
But he couldn't get past himself. At the critical moment, he would think of her and Brent smiling at each other on the terrace and her delighted expression when receiving gifts.
Henry leaned back, his Adam's apple moving up and down.
