Chapter30
Tabitha was so angry her chest was shaking a little. She took a deep breath, “I don’t care how your grandma spoiled you, you have to get a divorce! I’m calling Garrett right now!”
There was blood at the corner of Adrienne’s mouth, she just stood there and didn’t move, watching as Tabitha called Garrett.
Willard saw this from not far away and frowned a little. He didn’t know what was going on between Garrett and Adri- enne. He knew Tabitha, who was Garrett’s mom.
Tabitha almost visibly hated this daughter-in-law, and she recognized Willard right away. Wasn’t he that former exec from the Melendez Group? He almost forced a kiss on Adrienne back then, and Garrett ended up firing him on the spot. That whole thing caused a big stir in the Melendez family. After all, Willard was working with Theodore at the time and had just helped him finish a big project. Garrett going after Willard at that point almost made him fall out with Theodore.
Luckily, Theodore cared about his little brother and didn’t fight him for the position like other families did.
Otherwise, Adrienne’s fault would have been way too big.
Garrett did so much, but now Adrienne was actually with Willard, and Tabitha was so mad her scalp tingled.
When Garrett got the call, he was sitting in his office, sounding calm, “Why did you go over there? If you get mad when you see her, just avoid her from now on. She hardly ever comes to see you anyway.”
Tabitha just felt like she couldn’t breathe, “Hurry up and divorce her! Didn’t you promise me you’d have a kid with Beth?”
Garrett didn’t argue, lowered his lashes, his eyes dark and cloudy, “Let’s talk about it later.”
Tabitha thought he was thinking about it and felt relieved, “Garry, I think she just can’t live without a man, she never changes! Now she’s even trying to hook up with Willard, it’s so embarrassing for our family. I won’t let someone like her take the spot of my daughter-in-law.”
“Mom, I still had a few more meetings today.”
Tabitha knew he was busy and didn’t want to bother his work, so she hung up the phone.
But she looked up and saw that Adrienne actually left without saying a word.
She got mad again, and the rich lady who came with her saw she was upset and quickly tried to comfort her.
“You meant Beth, that kid Bethany, right? She just came back from abroad. That kid was really something. She wrote
several songs for people overseas and ended up winning the most prestigious music award. Now everyone was calling her a genius composer. She was so young and so talented.”

Tabitha had heard about this because foreign media had interviewed Bethany. Each of those five songs was amazing, and they were sung by international superstars. As soon as they were released, they pretty much swept all the major
music charts.
Bethany’s new songs were almost impossible to get. Ever since she came back to the country, she had gotten a lot of invitations from big names in the music world, and a lot of musicals wanted her to write music too, but she turned them all down.
This kid was talented and low-key, who wouldn’t like that.
Tabitha got annoyed every time she thought about this!
How come Beth wasn’t her daughter-in-law.
Adrienne came upstairs at the company and ran into Willard.
Willard saw the finger marks on her cheek and didn’t say anything, just told her to call the police station.
Adrienne nodded, worked until noon, and after getting a call from the police station, talked about settling it privately.
She hung up the phone and saw her phone got a new message.
“These were the five songs Bethany won awards for abroad. Why did I feel like the melodies were exactly the same as the ones you played for me back then? Adrienne, how long were you planning to avoid me?”
Adrienne had been really closed off these three years.
