Chapter 35

The black sedan stopped suddenly causing a screeching sound. The car owner rushed out after recognizing who was the victim this time.

“Terry!” she shouted running fast towards the body lying not far from her car. A thick red liquid seeped from the victim's forehead due to the strong impact on the asphalt. "No Terry! Do not leave me!" Again the woman roared crying over her actions.

Lucas helped Clarie get up from a sitting position and fell because she was pushed hard by Terry earlier. His body felt sore because he immediately kissed the asphalt, his arm also received abrasions that weren't too big.

"Are you okay, honey?" Lucas asked worriedly. Clarie shook her head weakly, lifting up her scuffed elbow.

"What was it?" she asked worriedly. Lucas turned his head around. There were already a lot of people gathered at that location. Lucas also seemed to recognize whose voices the roaring and crying belonged to. Then the man immediately recognized this car, this black vehicle he recognized it.

Lucas took Clarie's hand holding him walking towards the crowd of people and find out. Suddenly his heart was beating so fast. An hour later, Lucas, Clarie, and Marion were already in the hospital waiting room, to be precise, in front of the emergency room. Terry is being treated by the Doctor there. "Wait here a minute, honey," Lucas whispered in Clarie's ear.

"Where are you going?" stammered Clarie.

"I have to talk to them," he said while stroking the girl's cheek gently. Clarie nodded and let the man meet the two women.

Lucas walked over to Marion and Helen who were sitting not far from him.

"Don't tell me this was one of your plans to kill Clarie?" Lucas hissed sharply in his ex-wife's face.

Marion's eyes glanced hatefully at Clarie and then at Lucas.

“I've been trying to cover up the first attempted murder case you guys made on Clarie at the lake. Then, this?” Lucas shook his head slowly. "This time I will no longer be able to help you, I will let the whole world know about your crime, Marion!"

Marion shifted where she sat without saying anything to Lucas. There were a lot of swear words in her mind that were about to be spewed out, but she was having a hard time getting them out. Marion was in the middle of a sudden shock so she couldn't put into words what happened.

"Go on, Luke. Don't bother Marion," Helen ordered pushing Lucas' body away from them.

Lucas didn't refuse and chose to walk back to Clarie who still looked worried. Clarie immediately took the man's hand to sit beside her. The girl wrapped her arms around Lucas' arm.

"What really happened?" whispered Clarie softly. "I am very scared."

"It's fine, we'll find out in a moment." Lucas kissed Clarie's forehead trying to calm her down.

Shortly thereafter several police officers came to them, two of them interrogated Marion and two others questioned Lucas as an eyewitness to the incident.

Lucas started to tell everything he knew, from the first time he met Terry until Clarie arrived. Nothing was omitted from his story, for he would absolutely not cover even the slightest detail.

“Thank you, Mr. Henderson and Miss Evans. We will see you later if anything is needed," said one of the police officers.

"You're welcome," Lucas replied.

Less than an hour later, a doctor came out of the emergency room and said that Terry could not be saved. They lost their victims during the rescue attempt inside earlier.

“The victim's heartbeat was weak and finally stopped beating at 02.35 pm. Sorry we lost the victim."

Marion was hysterical again. She has lost her guardian angel.

“No! Terry!” roared Marion. Helen tried to calm the woman down. "Don't leave me, Terry."

"Now that she's calm there, you have to let it go," Helen said soothing Marion who was crying bitterly.

Marion immediately looked at Clarie, who was in Lucas' arms at that time. She rose from her seat and walked quickly over to the couple and grabbed Clarie's brown hair.

“Argh!” Clarie screamed in pain.

“Let it go!” he shouted.

“This is all because of you bitch! You slut you have killed my lover!” Marion shouted while beating Clarie blindly.

"Stop it, Marion!" Lucas tried to drive Marion away, but had difficulty, the woman seemed to be possessed by a demon so it was difficult to stop her. Finally the police officers who were still there helped to get Marion away from Clarie's body.

“I will avenge Terry's death on you! Remember that bitch!” Marion shouted again. Police officers manage to keep Marion away from the Lucas and Clarie couple.

Lucas hugged Clarie who was still scared from the incident just now.

"Girlfriend?" asked one of the officers who was still near Lucas.

Lucas began to feel something that was not wearing.

"You can explain to me about Miss Larsen, isn't she your ex-wife?" asked the police officer whose full name was Harry Byrne. “Then, earlier he mentioned 'that Miss Evans has killed his lover' which was inside, right? It's really confusing.”

“Does Miss Larsen, I'm sorry, have a sexual disorder. Like lesbians? Or?" asked another officer who managed to conclude.

Clarie was surprised to hear the officer's question to Lucas. While Lucas didn't speak at all, the man remained silent. Suddenly another officer came and whispered something in Harry's ear.

Harry glanced at Lucas and said, "We've just had some information from Miss Larsen's closest friend. If in fact Miss Larsen really has a sexual disorder that is, multiple sexual disorders, is that correct?" he asked.
