The Descent.

The Descent.

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW

Lee was in his new home when he got a call from the Captain of his army.

“We got him.” He said, and Lee smiled.

“Bring him to me.”

“On our way, Pakhan.” The Captain responded, and the title washed over Lee like a tide.

He was so happy to be right where he was. He had finally got what he wanted. All that was left was to remove the thorns in the way. Through Spades, he would get Ace and the rest of them. This would be a canon event. This would be the moment everything changed. In a way, he was right. This was his descent, or ascent, depending on the perspective.

“I hope it went smoothly?” He asked, walking around the house. He had always wanted to live in this house. This house, this estate, was supposed to be his, but Sergei took it from him. It was poetic that he now stood here, while Sergei was gone. All he needed was Irina by his side, and Nina, whom he would marry to a rich man. His world would be complete.

“Yes. The alarm went off immediately they walked into the room. We identified them through the hidden security cameras. We waited until they were outside to ambush them. We attacked them with bullets and gas. They fought back, which was the distraction we needed to take Spades, who was knocked out. We drove off immediately after we got him, while some of us stayed behind to keep up the illusion of a fight. We lost some of ours, but we got him like you wanted. What should we do to him?” The Captain asked.

Lee could not keep the smile off his face.

“Fill him up with drugs. Hang him from the ceiling. Let your men take turns beating the shit out of him. Let him feel every agonising pain. I want him to feel the pain. He’s going to die anyway, so you might as well kill him now, rather than keep him alive. Have your fun. I’m going to be busy tonight. Break him, but not too much.” He ordered, bouncing on his feet, grinning like a fool.

There was no pity in him. He didn’t care at all. Spades was collateral damage. He was always going to be collateral damage.

“Alright, Pakhan. We’ll have our fun. I’ll send some of our boys to you, just for extra protection.” The Captain said, and Lee smiled.

“Thank you.”

Lee walked to the wine cellar and poured himself a glass of Sergei’s treasured Vodka. He drank it, then coughed in disgust. Feeling petty, he pushed it to the ground and watched in amazement as it crashed. Oh, Lee was so happy. He’d never felt so fulfilled in his life. All his partners were dead. He was alone to reap the fruit of his labour. He played a long game, and he won.

“Lee?” He heard, turned around and found Lily, his wife, staring at him.

Disgust filled him, and he sneered, “What do you want?”

“I heard a crash and came to investigate.” She said softly. She always spoke softly, and he hated it so much. He hated her. She was what he settled for when he couldn’t have the woman he wanted.

“Well, fuck off back to hell, will you?” He snarled, and she looked like she would cry.

“You know what? Why don’t you get on your knees and clean this up?” He ordered, gesturing to the Vodka and broken glass on the floor.

“Lee! Why do you hate me so much?” She cried, her hand on her chest, and his disgust flared up.

He stormed to her and slapped her, smiling as the sound filled the room. He wasn’t done. He dragged her by the hair and pushed her to the ground. She fell to her knees on the broken glass, and she shrieked in agony.

“Remember your place, cunt!” He hissed and walked out, making a beeline for his car.

His guards were already waiting. He drove out of the compound, out of the estate, to the hospital. A special hospital where Spades’ Mom was kept. It had been an hour since his call to the Captain. He didn’t care about what agony Spades was going through. He would soon care.

He walked into the hospital room. His men had been with Tatiana, Spades’ mom. She didn’t look surprised to see him.

Lee looked at the woman in disgust. She couldn’t talk, but she could hear, so he spoke. “You are going to tell your son to tell his boy toy to give up and surrender himself, or I’m going to show you hell.”

He spent the next couple of minutes describing the kind of hell he was going to show her.

To his shock, she spoke, but the words from her mouth shocked him to the core. She pulled out a memory with her words. He remembered having a one-night stand with a stripper decades ago. He is shocked to the core when he realized there is a possibility that Spades could be his son. Spades, whom he had put in the care of monsters, monsters who were breaking him into pieces.

Desperately, he rushed back to the estate, calling the Captain, but there was no response.

He was halfway home when he got a call. He picked it up without checking the ID.

“Where is he?” Ace’s voice filled his ears and Lee froze, tasting fear.

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” He lied, and his voice cracked, giving him away.

“What have you done to him? Where is he, Lee? I am going to find you. Tonight. I am gonna kill you. Just pray to every God there is that my boyfriend is unharmed. For every hair on his head that is hurt, your world will crash, and I will make you watch. I will let the world burn for him. I’m coming for you. Run. I’ll catch you, still.” Ace rasped, his words bleeding in agony.

And, Lee’s descent reached a peak.
