CHAPTER SIXTY TWO
{Lexi}
"I knew she was real!" I yell, opening the door wider for them to come in.
"I knew that I wasn't crazy," I said again as I closed the door.
I was really scared, but I was calm and I did not have a panic attack.
I did not know who the girl was, but seeing her up close, I was certain that she was a witch.
She had smooth, honey-colored skin, one would think she was Middle Eastern. Her green eyes were brighter than mine, and she had curly black hair. Her brows were thick and bushy, but in a lovely way.
Her nose was pointed and just the right size for her face, her lips were very pink, and they were also the right size for her face.
She was tall, standing about 5 ft 8, and she had a slim build, she was wearing black jeans and a black camisole, her hair was flying around her face, and I noticed freckles on her cheek.
She was absolutely beautiful.
"I didn't know how to tell you, I was afraid that you would panic again." He said, and I just glared at him.
He had lied to me and he had made me question my sanity.
"You're not h-human, are you?" I asked him.
"No," he answered and moved closer to me. "And neither are you," he said.
"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion.
"This is Reyah, and she is a witch." He said and pointed towards the girl beside him.
"I'm Seraphine Delphine." She said and stretched her hand towards me.
"What did you just say?" I asked and moved backward.
Seraphine Delphine.
Seraphine Delphine was the owner of the journal, and she claimed to be my great-grandmother. How could she be standing in front of me right now?
"I'm Seraphine and I'm a witch." She explained. "There are a lot of things for you to learn, Lexi, and I know that this is all sudden, but you need to control it, you don't have much time left." She said and flicked my chest with her fingers.
I felt a burning feeling in my chest.
"What did you do to me?" I asked as the feeling began to spread throughout my body.
"I didn't do anything, that's your power flowing through you. If you don't learn to control it, it will kill you." She said,
I was utterly confused.
"How can you be Seraphine Delphine when I have a journal that belongs to Seraphine, and she claims to be my great-grandmother?" I asked.
"Did you read the journal again?" She answered my question with another question.
"Yes, but I can't make sense of it, it's written in—" I started to say.
"Crypetian." She interrupted me, and her eyes began to glow.
I stared at her in shock.
"Calm down, Lexi," Axle came to my side. "Your eyes are also glowing." He said, and I turned towards a glass cabinet.
He was right, my eyes were glowing.
"How is this? What is going on happening here?" I asked in confusion. I was close to tears.
I did not understand how my life could have undergone such a massive change in less than a year that I had moved to Bayou Crest.
"Seraphine is indeed your great-gran, she was my great-gran's twin, and I was named after her." Reyah started.
"So you're saying we're related," I said, moving to the couch.
I had to sit down for this.
"Yes," Axle answered and joined us on the couch.
"Your great-gran fell in love with a human, and she left the coven, that is, the fellowship of witches, to be with him. She was robbed of her memories, but they came back when she was dying, and that was how she was able to write that journal." She explained.
"I think I get it now, so Seraphine Delphine is Corrinne Mathews," I said.
I was understanding it slowly, I was getting there.
"Yes." She answered and then continued. "I was raised by a secret cucult,nd all my family is dead except you all." She said,
Oh yeah, if she's my cousin, she's Lex's cousin as well, and she's my mother's niece.
My mother would have loved to know that she had a cousin, it was so sad that her parents were dead.
"I'm sorry," I said and moved closer to her. "What were they like?" I asked.
"I never knew them." She said she was a bit sad. "I had a vision that I had another family, and since then I began to look for you all. I only found you because of the necklace."
"How do I know that you're telling the truth?" I asked, I had to be sure.
"Give me your hand." She sasaid,nd I gave her my palm.
"Lepomina salianu." She spoke a foreign lalanguage,nd she drew a sign on my palm.
I watched in surprise as green smoke rose from my palm and a screen appeared.
From the screen, I watched my life play backwards until I saw my mother's life backwards and my mother's mother's life backwards, and then my grandmother's life.
It was so cool.
"How did you do that?" I asked.
"Those are some of your memories, and the rest I got from the jade necklace." She answered.
"Jade nenecklace,un?" I glared at Axle.
He was the one who took my necklace, he had given it to her.
"Don't blame him, if he hadn't taken the necklace, I would not have been able to locate you. I couldn't sense the necklace when it was with you." She said,
I felt like screaming, I couldn't believe that I had a cousin.
"When can I meet the rest of your family?" She asasked,nd my smile washed off.
"You can't," I replied immediately.
They would think we were both crazy, and they would try to commit us to a mental facility.
"They won't believe you," I said. "You can't make them believe you, they'll think the both of us are crazy," I explained.
"I was thinking of enrolling in Bayou Crest High." she said out of the blue.
