"Why do you look so in shock? You are the queen now, that's yours."

It felt surreal. Everything in that room screams luxury, expensive and some of them very vintage. Even the queen mother only used that room when it was really important that she show up as queen and now, that place will be mine. It felt too huge to be real.

"I don't know, Bern. It feels like I will be stepping into a place that isn't mine. Can't I just get dressed in our room?"

I asked him.

"Sure you can any other time but it's important that you show up in traditional crimson moon royal attire as the queen."

"But I am not queen yet."

I pointed out.

"Oh, but you are my dear. The day I found out that you were my mate was the day you became queen of the crimson moon. Coronation is just to make it ceremonial."

Now why do I suddenly have doubts when I was the one who insisted that I want to stand by his side? I let out a deep sigh and nodded. I didn't want us to waste more time.

"Call her."

I told him. He smiled proudly and reached for his phone. While he spoke to his oldest sister on the phone I picked up my phone and set a timer because I didn't want to be late for my first queen official appearance.

"Leah said she will meet you at the queen's dressing room. Are you sure you can handle what we are about to witness?"

I wasn't very sure but I do know one thing, I want to stand by his side today of all days. There was no second-guessing that so I nodded.

"I am very sure."

I told him in a confident voice. He smiled and pulled me into a hug.

"Thank you, baby. After today, our lives will only be filled with happy moments. Let's get through today together."

He said and kissed my hair.

"Yes, love. We get through tonight together, go to sleep knowing that the enemies are no more, and wake up to a new beginning."

I told him. He hugged me tighter.

"I love you."

He whispered.

"I love you just as much and even more."

I replied. He pulled away from the hug and kissed me on my lips. Someone coughed and we broke apart. His assistant smiled shyly and waved his tablet.

"I will take the Luna to her dressing room first."

Bernardo said and took my hand. We walked together out of the room while his assistant trailed after us, reading out the things that Bernardo needed to do. It was a lot for one evening but Bernardo didn't complain. He was pretty used to it, I guess. I know I will get used to having a busy schedule too but not as busy as him.

"I will be back for you in an hour and twenty minutes, please she should be ready by then."

Bernardo said and handed me over to his oldest sister who was all smiles. After last night and how down she had felt, I felt happy to see her smiling again. There were two other women in the room. And I didn't need someone to tell me that they were there to help me get dressed. They greeted both I and Bernardo formally.

"Trust me. I am very time-conscious and I will make her pretty."

Leah assured her brother who gave a thumbs up to her before turning to me.

"I love you, see you soon."

He said and pecked me. I smiled shyly. I mean, I am used to him being affectionate but doing it in front of his sister kind of made me very shy.

"Aren't you going to say it back to him? You are literally carrying his baby already, I know what are, don't be shy."

My face went all shades of red and I could feel the heat of my embarrassment blowing hot. Bernardo seemed to be enjoying it and was all smiles.

"I love you too."

My voice sounded low even to my ears but Bernardo took it and pecked me again before he started to walk away.

"Bern?"

I called out his name when he was almost at the door. He turned back and faced me with a bright smile.

"I love you!"

I called out in a loud voice. His smile grew and Leah cheered, and so did the other two women in the dressing room with us. My face still felt hot and red but I had to do it. I love him and shouldn't be shy to let the whole world know.

I expected him to respond to what I said and just walk away but that's not what he did. He walked right back to me and kissed me. It wasn't a peck or a light kiss. He kissed me deeply and I kissed him back without shame.

When we pulled back, he had a proud satisfied smile on his face and the room was dead silent.

"I love you too, see you soon."

He said and was gone before I could process what happened. I stood there for a few seconds, trying to process how best to face the women on my own. Their silence didn't help my case either. Leah decided to put me out of my misery by reaching for my hand.

"What happened to the boldness from earlier? Did he follow him out?"

She teased me. I shook my head and smiled.

"Good, because you need to be confident for the rest of tonight. You are going to be seated next to the king and everyone around you are going to be elites of the elites in the kingdom. This is your first queenly assignment and I hear you appointed yourself."

I did tell Bernardo that I wanted to stand by his side but when she puts it like that, it kind of felt like I got myself in trouble.

"I didn't assign myself. I didn't know it would turn into some official appearance. I just wanted to be with him becas---"

I stopped talking without finishing what I had to say but Leah understood.
