"You finally showed up, I thought you were really going to take the whole day off."

Damien said when we walked into Bernardo's office.

"Oh Luna, you came too?"

I smiled and waved at him.

I never said that I was taking the day off, I just said that I wouldn't rush to the office. I deserve a break don't I?"

He asked Damien while walking me further into his office. I haven't been here since the renovation after what happened with Sean. I can't believe this was where it all really started. Thank Goddess that he called me into his office that day. Even if I hated meeting that uncle of his, the meeting still helped expose him.

"Thank goodness that you are here because I was about to take over your office and make new laws for Crimson Moon. Your assistant has been looking at me funny all morning."

Damien said just as Bernardo's assistant walked in. he bowed to the king and me.

"Is that my schedule for today? Why does it look so fucking scary? I told you to use a tablet! I hate seeing that typed paper."

Bernardo complained.

"I do use a tablet but I didn't know you were still coming to the office, your majesty."

His assistant responded. Bernardo scowled.

"Why does everyone assume that? Anyway, scrap all non-emergency schedules, and meetings and reschedule for later. I am on temporary hiatus."

I laughed at the way he said hiatus but I must be the only one who found it funny because both Damien and his assistant didn't laugh. In fact, Damien looked visibly unpleased.

"A king can't be on hiatus, your majesty."

He complained.

"See what I go through? They don't let me rest! I am supposed to work every day and night without taking a break. Save me, babe."

Bernardo complained to me in a cute tone. I shook my head at Damien.

"I didn't make him like that, I swear."

I told him when he kept looking at me with accusing eyes.

"No, you actually did a good job with him. I like this over the idiot I left behind years ago. You made him a better man."

Oh, a compliment. I will take that. Bernardo smiled after his best friend said the words made it even better. He didn't even deny it. In fact, he accepted what he said and even squeezed my hand that he still held, lovingly.

"Babe, you can sit over there. There will be a lot of people coming and going, don't mind them."

I nodded and walked towards the place he pointed out to me. I sat down on the big couch and got comfy.

The men got to work immediately. I watched my mate go from the carefree, easygoing, and loving lover to the alpha king of the Crimson Moon. It was fun to watch him go from loving to all-ruler mode and I realized that I love that side of him too.

The sophisticated way he spoke and how wise his words were. Let's just say I fell in love with him again. I couldn't take my eyes off him even as the people that he was meeting started showing up. His voice was smooth, manly, and authoritative. His mannerisms were classy and precise.

Everyone who walked into the office and saw me made sure to take a moment to greet me. Having them take time to show respect to me kind of reminded me that I actually became an important person in the kingdom.

Soon, I will have my own office and people will come to me too. It sounded scary but I know with the right people by my side, I will do well. Like Bernardo who has his best friend on his side, I know someone who will be on my team too.

Julia and there's my sister too. Only that she is a doctor and has to focus on treating people. The princesses too. My brother but that's if Bernardo doesn't give him a role in the kingdom. I know he will. I still have a few months of my Luna training.

I still have a lot to learn but I am pretty confident in my abilities and I know it will get easier with time. My phone buzzed and I checked. I smiled when I saw that Hillan texted me.

"Here is the pdf of what I told you about. Will bring the physical copy when I visit."

His text read. I downloaded the file and clicked on it. My eyes widened when I saw that it had four thousand pages. Four freaking thousand. That's a lot of pages to read. I quickly texted back a thank you and clicked the file again.

I read through the introduction. It was more of a personal diary than a handbook but the writing was precise and straight to the point. It got me hooked and I found my sense flipping pages and consuming every knowledge.

I saw some things that I have already experienced, like the reading people's minds while healing and I also saw some that I haven't experienced yet. My visions were still just limited to when I heal people but according to the handbook, I will also be able to read minds by just touching someone. Oh, I think I will like that a lot.

I stopped reading for a moment and looked in my mate's direction when I felt his eyes on me and sure enough. He was looking at me.

"What are you doing?"

He asked through our mind link.

"Hillan sent me a healer handbook pdf. That's what I am reading."

I answered.

"There's a healer handbook?"

He asked the same question I asked Hillan when he first told me about the book.

"There is. It's a diary. The healer in his pack made it and she shared it with me. It's a lot but it's fun."

I told him excitedly.

"I am glad. I thought you would be bored. I was starting to feel bad for dragging you to the office with me to listen to boring talks."

I shook my head.

"It's not boring at all. I love being here. Can I come whenever I want?"

I asked him.

"Sure, you can, babe. I am almost done. We can leave soon and we will spend the rest of the day together. Like a date. What do you say?"

I smiled.

"Yes, to a date, and yes to spending more time with you."

I told him and smiled when he bowed out of my head and started talking out loud again. I gave him a thumbs-up and went right back to reading the healer's handbook.
