Chapter 175

Chapter 175

Wendy spotted Nina the moment she walked out of the airport.

"You're finally here! Let me look at you — you're absolutely gorgeous!" Nina said sweetly.

Wendy laughed and gave her a little shove. "Come on, let's go eat. I'm starving."

The two found a restaurant nearby.

"Will you be my bridesmaid tomorrow? And maybe get Mr. Ford to be a groomsman?" Nina asked.

She wasn't sure William would agree, but it was worth asking.

Wendy suddenly had an idea. "Sure, I'll talk to him."

"Wait, seriously? The CEO is going to be my groomsman?" Nina's jaw nearly dropped.

Wendy smiled mysteriously. "I'll need a favor from you in return."

She leaned over and whispered something in Nina's ear.

"Done! I've got you covered, don't worry." Nina let out a sneaky little laugh.

She hadn't expected Wendy to have such a romantic side.

"Don't slip up and tell William ahead of time," Wendy reminded her.

"Relax, I'm totally reliable." Nina patted her chest confidently.

That evening, Wendy met William for dinner.

William had a long face. "Why didn't you let me pick you up?"

Wendy hadn't told him she was coming back, and he'd been upset about it the whole way there.

"You were in the middle of an international meeting. I didn't want to bother you." Wendy nuzzled her face against his cheek.

Seeing her acting all sweet and cute, William's expression softened a little. "Don't do that again. I want to pick you up next time."

"Okay," Wendy said, like she was coaxing a little kid.

"Oh, by the way — Nina's wedding is tomorrow. Can you be a groomsman?" Wendy asked.

William looked puzzled. "Are you going to be a bridesmaid?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll go."

There was no way William was going to let Wendy walk down the aisle on someone else's arm.

Absolutely not.

The next morning, William drove over early to take Wendy to the wedding venue.

The place was packed and buzzing with guests.

Nina stood at the entrance in her wedding dress greeting people. When she spotted Wendy, she gave her a wink.

Wendy gave a calm nod back.

William's good looks naturally caught the attention of quite a few girls, but with Wendy right by his side, they all held back.

They whispered among themselves that a guy that handsome deserved to be with someone as stunning as Wendy.

Halfway through the wedding, it was time for the bouquet toss.

Nina made sure Wendy got up on stage to join in. William was worried about the crowd bumping into her. "Maybe skip this one — I don't want you to fall."

"I'll be fine, don't worry." Wendy ignored him and jumped right up on stage.

This was her carefully planned moment. She had to be there.

William couldn't relax and kept his eyes on her the whole time from below.

"Here it comes!" Nina shouted, and tossed the bouquet into the air.

Everyone on stage had been arranged by Nina in advance, so no one was going to fight Wendy for it.

Wendy jumped up, caught it, and immediately spun around and ran toward William.

"Dear Mr. Ford," she said, holding up the bouquet, her eyes bright and shining, "will you marry me?"

William stood frozen for a few seconds, completely caught off guard by the sudden turn of events.

The crowd around them started cheering. "Say yes! Marry her!"

In an instant, the whole atmosphere hit its peak.

Wendy's face turned bright red.

William quickly snapped out of his shock. His eyes slowly softened, and he reached out and pulled Wendy into his arms, holding her tight. "Yes. Of course I will."

He had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

He had never brought it up himself because he didn't want to pressure her. But now, his girl had proposed to him — how could he possibly say no?

He wanted to marry Wendy right then and there.

The news of the Ford Group and the Green Group joining through marriage sent shockwaves through the entire business world, and people talked about nothing else for a whole week.

The Green family threw themselves into wedding preparations with full force.

Wendy rubbed her forehead. "Mom, the wedding isn't for three months. There's plenty of time."

"What do you know? This is a big deal. There's still so much to get ready. You just focus on being the bride — leave everything else to us." Ever since Hannah heard the news, she hadn't stopped for a second. She was even too busy to spend time with Edward.

Wendy shook her head helplessly.

"Wendy, look at this wedding dress! This shop has made custom gowns for so many celebrities. Want to go check it out?" Aurora said excitedly.

She was genuinely happy for Wendy.

Wendy had no choice and got dragged along to look at wedding dresses.

Three months later, at the beach.

Wendy stood face to face with William in a white wedding dress, saying her vows. "Whether in wealth or in even greater wealth, we will always stand by each other, through everything."

William gazed at her with deep tenderness. In that moment, it felt like all the noise of the world had faded away.

He leaned down and kissed her, warm and lingering.

From a rocky start, through the pull they felt toward each other, growing together, pushing each other forward, standing at the top side by side — now they were starting a family.

Wendy felt the depth of William's love and held him tighter, giving back all the love she had for him.

It hadn't been easy for either of them to get here. But they made it — together.

Below the stage stood everyone who cared about them and loved them. Hannah was so moved she couldn't stop the tears from falling.

Shirley and Charlie clapped until their hands were red, eyes glistening with excitement.

A new chapter had begun for them, and life kept getting better for everyone around them.

Two years later.

William was holding their daughter Mia Ford in one arm and trying to help pack Wendy's bag with the other. "Wendy, we're going to miss our flight. Do you want to rebook?"

"No need. I'm ready, coming!" Wendy rushed out of the bathroom.

Ever since having the baby, she'd been scatterbrained.

"Sorry for making you wait again," she said apologetically.

William patted her on the head. "This is what I'm here for. Isn't waiting for your wife just part of being a good husband?"

Mia waved her little arms, reaching for Wendy.

Just as Wendy was about to take her, William gently coaxed the baby, "Mommy's a little tired. How about Daddy holds you for a bit? Let's let Mommy rest, okay?"

Mia pouted but didn't fuss.

The family of three made it onto the flight just in time for their trip abroad.

On the plane, Mia lay quietly asleep in the crook of William's arm, while Wendy leaned against his shoulder.

William dipped his head and gently kissed her hair. "You're tired — get some sleep. I'll wake you both when we land."

It was all so beautiful, like something out of a painting.

Maybe it was because Wendy had always been a good person that she ended up with a life this full — a warm and loving home, a husband who adored her, and the sweetest little girl.

Wendy closed her eyes contentedly.

She was going to enjoy every bit of happiness this life had to offer.
