Chapter 45 I mean every word!
Theo
I watched as Don walked away while I then went back to the file with me. I started browsing through the pages all over again. As I saw the secrets in there, I was surprised like it was the first time seeing it.
“How vile can this people be?” I muttered under my breath as I finally closed the file.
I stood up and then walked away. I was soon back at the hotel and as I approach the reception, I saw the lady again and I just knew she was going to pull my legs again.
“Hey Timara,” I let out and she responded with a big soft smile.
“I had no idea you would be back so soon but thankfully, I already have your room deep cleaned. And to make sure it’s properly done, I monitored everything myself. You’re welcome.” She chimed in with much excitement that I couldn’t help but smile.
I was probably just overthinking things. She might be just a kind person with no ulterior motives like I was painting her to be.
“Thank you, Timara. The keys, please.” I retorted and I saw her smile vanish for about a split second it came back.
“Here, but it’s Tim to you. I like to believe we are now friends so you’ve earned the right to call me that. Promise me you’ll do that… unless you don’t think we are friends, don’t you?” She quizzed and at that point, I burst into laughter.
It didn’t seem that funny but for someone in the mood I was before I got there, it was funny as heck.
“You know, if it were any other day, I would have said we aren’t friends but I guess I’m in a heck of a mood so yeah, we are friends now. Thanks again, Tim.” I said and then reached to get the keys.
She gave it to me but she lingered a bit and made sure our hands touched. She stared at me and smiled, and yeah, I realized I wasn’t making things up in my head. She definitely had a different motive other than what I thought.
“Tim!” One of the other girls suddenly showed up.
She happened to see what happened and quickly called Tim to order. Tim on the other hand didn’t seem to bother because she just rolled her eyes like it was nothing.
“You’re not supposed to do that with the customers.” The girl warned while Tim rolled her eyes.
“This is a friend, and not just a customer, so I know what I’m doing.” Tim quickly cautioned the girl.
I wasn’t interested in their drama so I wasn’t wasting my time with them. I turned to leave and was already walking away when I heard the girl’s next response.
“Well, maybe I should remind you that you’re married then. You’re not supposed to be flirting with other men.” She let out.
I was shocked all over again. I never knew she was married and I was so sure I didn’t spot a ring on her.
It was surprising but it was still none of my business so I didn’t question it. I just kept on walking and didn’t stop until I was in my room.
Everywhere was sparkling clean and that made all my reservations vanish. I inhaled the fresh air and then went to the desk, sat down and started going over the file again.
As I scanned through this time, I was filled with excitement as I knew I had finally gotten a way to get my woman out of the mess my family put her.
A big smile lined my cheeks immediately and I just got so moved to call Grace. I could finally get the urge to hear her voice. I have been so reluctant to call her because I knew I wasn’t deserving of hearing her voice, and I didn’t want to come off as being insensitive. I mean, I had all the chance in the world to defend her that day, but I chose to be mute instead.
I grabbed my phone and dialed her number. I suddenly found my heart beating fast as her face took over the screen.
The call ended with a sound and dropped. I tried it again and again but it was never reachable.
“Did she block me?” I muttered under my breath.
I was still wondering when the door rang. Thinking it was the room service I called for food, I quickly got up and opened the door. To my surprise, it was Tim at the door smiling sheepishly. She wasn’t wearing the uniform anymore and had another dress on.
“I just got off duty and I didn’t want to go home to my empty house. Do you mind if I kept your company instead?” She asked and I smirked.
“I know I heard clearly when your colleague mentioned you are married so why is your house empty and why do you want to keep another man company?” I asked and she smiled more.
“She was just messing around. My ex and I are actually separated. It was a messy one so I guess she was only trying to protect me in her own way. But I’m an adult and know what I want so that’s why I’m here, hoping to keep you company.” She chimed in.
“Well, I’m still very much with my woman so I do not need another woman keeping my company. As a matter of fact, I was about getting on the phone with her. I wouldn’t want to keep her waiting or angry when she finds out some woman was here because I’m definitely going to tell her. So is like you to leave now. Thank you.” I quickly cleared but then I saw she didn’t seem to really understand how serious I was.
“I mean every word, Timara and I hope I wouldn’t have to talk to the management. You already lost your marriage, wouldn’t be nice to lose your job too. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day.” I chimed in and then shut the door in her face.
I saw the smile on her face wiped off immediately and I didn’t care. That was exactly what I wanted anyway…
