Chapter 74 074
Amy's POV
I have nothing to be afraid of. It's not like I completely said bad things about him. Why should I be scared of him? I was saying the truth about him. Even if I fell in love with him, I shouldn't lie about his true nature. He's completely manipulative and annoying. He only thinks about himself, and I don't understand why I'm into this kind of thing.
"If you're going to talk behind me, don't you think you're a coward? Why don't you just say it to my face?" he asked me.
I got annoyed by what he said, and I stood up angrily. "How about you fix that nasty attitude of yours? A dignified Alpha like you sneaking around to eavesdrop on our conversation—aren't you ashamed?"
I don't know if I'm going overboard because I'm embarrassed that he heard my conversation, or maybe I'm just saying the truth to him. Either way, he doesn't look like he liked what he heard from me. This is not the first time I'm insulting him anyway. If he's mad at me because of this, he can just kick me out. Who wants to stay with him in the first place?
But if he kicks me out now, is he going to look for that woman? My blood boiled just thinking about her. Is he going to be with her and pretend that I don't exist? This is so annoying. Where do I have this thought—how can I fall in love with someone like him?
"It wasn't eavesdropping on your conversation. You were way too loud because you wanted me to hear everything," he replied to me calmly.
I scoffed. "So what? Are you going to beat me up for doing that to you, or what? I don't care what you do. It doesn't matter to me anyway."
I refused to admit that I'm wrong. Stacy was still standing in between us, staring at us argue. She tried to give me some signals to back down, but I didn't listen to her. Why should I back down for him? He should be the one backing down for me.
"I really don't want to argue with you right now. I wanted to tell you that the doctors will be coming to check you and the baby. Your appointment starts tomorrow," he announced.
I pretended to be angry, even though I was happy he did this for me. "You didn't even ask for my permission, and you're already making my decisions for me again?"
Of course, I'm happy that he did this, but I won't say that to him. He looked frustrated by my response. It's just a little bit of frustration and he's already giving up. Does he know how hard he frustrated me when I didn't have my wolf?
"You can think whatever you want. I'm going now because stimulating you would only hurt the baby," he replied and walked away.
Did he just make me look like I am the bad person here? He just said things like he didn't care what I said or what I did. Is he trying to mess with me or what?
Stacy rushed to my side, holding my hand. "Why are you both arguing like children? You're going to become parents. Don't you think you should mind your behavior now?"
I looked at her in confusion. "You sound like you're scolding the both of us, but in reality, you are scolding me. Are you taking his side now?"
How can my own best friend take his side? Did I say something wrong? He was eavesdropping on our conversation. The part about the doctors coming to check on me was just an excuse he wanted to use to get away from it. He's always trying to control me. Can't I complain about it?
"I wasn't taking his side. I'm just telling you not to stimulate yourself like he said," she replied to me. "Your baby is very important and you need to be careful."
"I know. That's why I'm trying to avoid him all the time."
She shook her head. "Actually, you don't need to avoid him. The baby needs to be close to its father most of the time. They need to build a relationship together, and it would help you a lot."
Stacy has never given birth to a child before, and she already knows about things like this. Is she messing with me or what? How can the baby need the father to help me? I don't seem to understand anything at all.
"I think you're saying a lot of nonsense that I don't understand. What has he got to do with the development of the baby?"
She sighed. "Both of you are hopeless. You don't listen to any advice at all, and you are both stubborn. I hope your child doesn't become like you both."
I wanted to give her a response, but someone interrupted me. It was one of the servants, and she looked like she came to give me some information.
"Luna, you have someone outside requesting to see you," she said to me.
"There's someone outside?" Stacy and I asked at the same time.
She nodded. "Yes, and he's requesting to see you. We even told him you can't see him at this time, but he refused to go."
"He?" Who could this be? Could it be my brother? Stacy and I took one look at each other before we stood up and followed the girl outside. When we got outside, I couldn't believe what I saw. It was Brian—the same person I already told not to come look for me again.
He actually had the guts to come all the way here to look for me. Does he not like his life, or is he so confident that Damien wouldn't do anything to him?
He moved closer to me with a smile. "Amelia, how have you been doing?"
Before I could say anything, Stacy was the first to say something.
"What the hell do you think you're doing here? Are you out of your mind? You actually came to look for her in the Lion's den?" Stacy fired at him.
He sighed. "Stacy, I know you still hate me for what happened before, but I already told you I would change things and make it right. Besides, I'm here now to see her. Why won't you let me talk to her?"
She sneered. "Do you seriously not know what is going on, or are you just messing with me right now? Are you blind? Can't you see where we are?"
"Exactly. I know this is Alpha Damien's mansion, and this is why I came to bring her back," he started. "I know you were first to say stay here, and there's a lot of rumors that you were here, which is why I came in the first place. I'm going to take you back home. Don't worry, he won't be able to hurt you anymore."
I couldn't believe what I was listening to. He clearly rejected me back before and didn't want anything to do with me. Ever since he came back, it was as if he got possessed by another person, and he keeps seeking me out. What the hell does he want from me?
"Don't you think you're a little bit too late, Brian? I already belong to Damien now, and there's nothing you can do about it," I replied to him confidently, and I saw the dark look on his face.
What's he going to do?
