Chapter 63 063
Amy's POV
I can't believe what I'm looking at in front of me right now. Maybe I must have missed him so much that my head is completely messed up now. I moved far away from him, and my parents can't even find me. How is it possible for Damien to find me and arrive at a moment that I need help?
This is too much of a coincidence; only an idiot will believe that something like this is actually real. I'm no fool to know that this is a dream. In it, probably one of my last moments before these idiots catch me, I have to keep running.
"Get out of my way! You're not real!" I shouted and tried to push him away.
I was about to slip and fall, but he caught me anyway. That was when I realized he wasn't just a figure, he was real. I couldn't believe the amount of relief I felt for someone I didn't want to see. I was burning with hatred, but at the same time, I was glad he appeared for me the moment I needed him.
"Why don't you be careful? You don't want our baby getting hurt, do you?" he said to me.
My eyes widened in shock. I haven't even told him anything, and he already knows I have a baby? Why am I even surprised? Since he was able to find me here, then me being pregnant shouldn't be news to him anymore.
"You! What are you even doing here? Do you know how dangerous it is now?"
What the hell am I doing? Why am I scolding him when he came to help me? Shouldn't I be happy with his gesture and make sure he doesn't leave me alone? I don't understand what I'm doing to myself.
I realized that those people were catching up, and there was not enough time for me to banter words with him, which is why we needed to get away from here as soon as possible. If they find out there's someone else who is here to help me, they might attack him instead.
But if he can't defeat all of them, I don't want him dying on me and pinning the blame on me. If I'm going to watch him, then I should do it myself and also make sure that I get my revenge on him. I can't just let him die like that.
"We need to get out of here immediately," I said, trying to drag him, but he refused to leave.
He looked forward and tried to stop me. "Why should we leave? I'm coming to see you, and you don't want to take me to your house. Besides, why were you running away? Is someone after you?"
Is he blind or what? You can clearly see that I'm running from people and they were already getting close to us. Or is it that I'm the only one who can see them?
"You mean you can't see the people that are after me?"
He pointed towards them. "You mean those idiots?"
Is he for real? They are really good fighters, even if they are weaker than I am, but there's a lot of them and it's not easy for us to defeat all of them, despite the fact that we are Lycans.
"There's a lot of them, and it's not the time for us to act like we can defeat all of them. Let's just leave. You and I are alone here. I don't even know what you're doing here, but let's get out of here first!"
He stopped me from leaving again. "Why do you keep saying that? Besides, who said I'm alone?"
Then I saw Lucas coming from behind him. I guess I should worry about myself and not him, because he has backup and is more capable than I think.
"Hello… Luna," Lucas said.
"Who is your Luna? I'm never going to marry someone like him, so you better stop calling me that! I'm going to rip your head off!" I threatened him.
"Stay here and protect her while I deal with those idiots," Damien said to him.
I wanted to stop him from going alone, but he didn't listen to me. He immediately rushed there, and what I was worried about didn’t happen. Maybe I underestimated him too much. The people who said he was very powerful were not lying. He wiped out all of them in a single go.
His strength and agility were impressive. Though I have immense power too, I think I was a little bit weak earlier and I couldn't fight well. Besides, I haven't gotten my wolf for a long time, so it's still strange for me to manage my power.
I moved closer to him after he knocked them down. "Who do you think they came from? They just came to attack me at my house for no reason."
He grabbed one of them, forcing them to talk. I don't know what kind of torturing method he was imposing on them, but they were all confessing immediately.
"Tell me where you're from and what you want with my wife," he demanded to know.
"The Dark Hunters sent us here to capture her."
What Dark Hunters? What the hell are those supposed to be? Are they real hunters that are always after mystical creatures like us? Why are they deliberately targeting me, and how did they even know I moved here? I've been in my pack for a long time and they didn't come after me — why now?
"I don't think I've done anything wrong for hunters to be after me. I've never hurt a human or done anything against the rules, so what is the problem?"
Damien tortured him again. "What's the reason?"
"She's a Lycan carrying a child. We are after her and the baby. We were told to bring her because their special abilities will be cultivated by the hunters to use in protecting the world," they confessed.
I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing. They're after me because they think they can force me to give up my abilities for them to cultivate powers in protecting the world? What sort of stupid reason is that?
"Are you all idiots or puppets? Can't you see you were sent to your deaths? Even if you were taught how to fight, you're still very low in abilities. Why would you believe such stupidity?" I snapped at them.
There's no reason to believe such stupidity if they were not promised something. But probably someone is using them to do the adjutant work just to test us for now. In any case, my identity has been discovered, despite hiding it from everyone. This is what my family is afraid of, and now it has been found.
I don't think there's any reason for me to hide my identity anymore, and also I need to protect myself and my baby. The fact that they came after me like this doesn’t mean this is the first time, and it certainly won't be the last.
"I'm going to find out who these hunters are, and I will make sure they pay for trying to hurt you. I promise you that," he assured me.
I was mad for seeing him when I didn't invite him, but at the same time I was happy he came to my rescue, because there was no way I could have dealt with them with the way I feel so weak right now. On some days I feel energetic, and other days I feel weak.
"What's wrong with you, Amelia? Talk to me," Damien was asking me, but his voice seemed like it was slurry.
And then I felt my vision getting blurry and my body got weaker. I felt so dizzy that I thought it was because I was running too much earlier, and maybe my body just doesn't want me to do too much work.
I wanted to say something to him, but I couldn't, as I felt myself falling down, and then darkness took over.
