Chapter 21 New Agent Elena Harper
The next day was the shooting of the advertisement. Originally, Lilian was supposed to work with several models, but...the photographer felt that Lilian's aura was too strong and having more people around her would only make them look like accessories to her. Therefore, only one male model was left.
Sylvia knocked on Lilian's door early in the morning. However, when Lilian came to open the door, she clearly tried to hide something and didn't want Sylvia to come in. Suddenly, Sylvia stared at Lilian and questioned her: "Is there someone else in your room?"
"I..."
"Lilian! How could you do this? Although you have broken up with that scumbag already, you just got married to Mr. Alexander. How can you fool around outside?" Sylvia became a bit agitated and used a lot of force as if she wanted to push open the door. At this moment, Kevin suddenly reached out his hand and held onto the door handle with his tall figure looming over both of them.
"Boss it's you..."
Sylvia froze for a moment before laughing foolishly.
Kevin glanced at Sylvia with some approval in his eyes because he felt more relieved knowing that other men wouldn't have an opportunity to approach Lilian while she had someone like Sylvia by her side. So he didn't say anything and went straight into the bathroom to freshen up.
After seeing Kevin leave, Sylvia leaned against Lilian's arm and said: "Why didn't you tell me earlier? You made me lose face!"
"I found out last night when I came back." Innocently shrugged Lilian.
"Oh my god! This is so romantic! Mr.Alexander is such a busy man yet he flew all the way here just to be with you! You're really lucky Lillian! Think about how many years you were with that scumbag, when did he ever surprise you like this?" Sylvia became excited and exclaimed: "Indeed, there are differences between people."
"Are we still going to the shooting location?" Lilian reminded her even though she had behaved similarly to Sylvia last night.
"Is Mr. Alexander coming?"
"He should be." Lilian whispered.
How could they not watch Lilian's performance now that they were already here? The hf fashion show was unforgettable for him and what would Lilian look like in an outdoor shoot? He was looking forward to it.
Thirty minutes later, the three of them arrived at the photography team. Because they couldn't reveal their identities, Kevin could only watch from afar as Lilian came out of a shabby dressing room wearing a light blue lace dress which perfectly showcased her curvy figure especially her endless long legs which looked like a sculptor's masterpiece.
The theme for today's shoot was about chasing after a runaway groom by his bride who injured her foot during the process but went unnoticed by the groom until finally, it was the dazzling diamond in her hand that sparkled under the rainbow-colored sunlight which brought back memories of his promise to love and cherish her forever. Finally, he returned and they reconciled...
"Lilian, your emotions will be quite volatile today. Are you okay?" Yesterday's photographer had become today's director who asked symbolically.
"No problem." Lilian nodded lightly.
The director made an OK gesture towards her before reminding her to take position.
"Do you want to rehearse your steps?"
"No need." Lilian directly refused the director’s proposal. If yesterday hadn't happened yet or if she hadn't shown off how professional she was then maybe he would have doubted Lillian but having witnessed how good she was yesterday made him completely trust Lillian so when she said no need then let’s start."Because the entire advertisement has no dialogue and must be kept within a short 30-second timeframe, the models need to quickly get into character. The scene being filmed is of Lilian chasing after someone, so her facial expressions need to convey urgency and slowly transition from hopeful to desperate as she realizes she can't catch up.
As filming is about to begin, Lilian doesn't need any reminders and quickly finds her position. With the sound of the clapperboard, Lilian's shadow disappears, replaced by that of an abandoned bride searching frantically for someone with red-rimmed eyes but not yet crying. She even adds in breaths after running.
Her emotions seem to expand along with her search time; her anxiety seems like it will drive her over the edge soon.
Kevin watches Lilian from afar and sees her as a piece of jade covered in dust. No wonder three years ago she was at the top; if only she hadn't retired then, how much more successful would she be now?
"Mr. Alexander, isn't Lilian great?" Sylvia beams with pride. "If it weren't for that scumbag delaying things..."
"No one will delay her again," Kevin says coldly before walking straight into his car.
Sylvia smiles knowingly because she knows that neither will anyone else have a chance to bully Lilian anymore.
However, what gives Sylvia even more confidence is knowing that this man sitting in his car owns an empire.
Thanks to Lilian's professionalism during filming which saved half a day's worth of time for the director who also thinks highly of Lillian offered an olive branch: "I heard your current agency doesn't know how to plan your career properly. Are you interested in moving onto bigger stages?"
Lilian takes his card but still declines politely: "I'm doing well right now."
The director doesn't push further but just smiles at Lillian: "Although so, you're always welcome."
Lilian thanks him and heads towards Kevin, but Sylvia rushes over with a phone in hand to tell Lilian: "A woman named Elena called your phone claiming to be Brent's assigned agent. She said that the advertisement shoot is done on your end and that you need to rush back because Brent has taken on a runway event for you three days from now. I just checked this brand; although it isn't a product without any quality assurance, it has received many consumer complaints over the years."
"Brent is intentionally sabotaging your work!"
Lilian looks at her phone calmly: "Let's go back first."
"This is the popularity you've worked so hard for! If you take on this runway event, all of your previous efforts will have been wasted," Sylvia says sympathetically.
"Sylvia, do you think...I haven't prepared for these things?" Lilian sneers. She didn't expect Brent to give up so easily on The Moore Family background and choose Hillary instead. "I said before that advantages and disadvantages are sometimes only one word apart or separated by a thin line."
"I won't let my cards get played out again..."
Not far away, Kevin sits in his car waiting for Lilian while they exchange glances with an understanding smile. After she gets into the car, he shows her his phone: "I had Jason pull up information about this Elena agent from our database; her resume as well as negative news are all there."
