Epilogue

Chandra hugged Danyun. “Thank you.” Her lips brushed over his cheek. “This place is beautiful.” She sat on his lap as they watched the lake and the lush greenery nearby. The opened porch allowed the citrus scent to tease her senses.

They’d come to the Wallan Island a couple of weeks ago. Danyun had delayed his vacation so he could take her to see a sorceress. The powerful witch weaved a spell that revealed Chandra as Princess Lucinda Mavora Freydian. It felt good to learn about her new family. The Bryants would always be her parents, and she missed them daily. Meeting her Fenarian and Danyun’s family eased some of the ache she once had.

She glanced at the man she knew for six months. “Your mother hinted that it was time for us to get married. My mother didn’t make matters easy.” Chandra met her birth mother, Princess Sorianne Troy Freydian, at King Jeremiah’s palace. As the daughter of the ruler of the House Altraias, Sorianne held a ball to herald her daughter’s return. Within minutes of their meeting, the older woman insisted Chandra live in the family’s palace and take up a position as an apprentice to the sorceress. Chandra shied away from accepting the position. She still worked for Riezer, and she doubted she would quit any time soon.

Chandra sighed. “Mother listed all the reasons why we should marry.”

“Are you trying to tell me something?” He nipped her ear.

“No, nothing.” She rubbed her legs on his. The lounge chair was roomy enough to fit two people, but Chandra preferred sitting on his lap.

Her guides flew to her face and buzzed in her ears. Just tell him.

She glanced at the rugged planes of his handsome face. Her fingers combed through his blond locks. Occasionally, she woke up with night terrors, but Danyun’s arms would always soothe her until the dream no longer frightened her.

They’re right. She should tell him what she really wants. “That’s not true. I want to get married.”

“Good,” he said, his eyes scanning the lake.

She blinked several times. “Good?” She punched his arm. “That’s all you can say.”

“I didn’t want to rush you.” The corner of his lips tugged as if he resisted smiling.

“Rush me? I fell in love with you the day I met you.”

He nodded. “I know.”

She let out another sighed and saw his mouth twitch into a smile. “When do you want to get married?”

“Tomorrow. Today. Anytime you’re ready.”

She was ready now.

“Let’s go tell our family.” She turned to get up.

He grabbed her arm before she moved an inch. “Not yet. Tomorrow will be soon enough.”

Chandra hid a smile as his lips swooped on hers and his cock pressed against her.

Yes, tomorrow would definitely be soon enough.
