Sophia’s eyelids fluttered immediately after hearing Jessica’s request.

“Stay overnight?”

Jessica smiled awkwardly and raised both hands quickly.

“You can say no. I know it’s sudden.”

Sophia looked at her quietly. It was already evening now and any moment from now, Damien could come home.

It wasn’t like Damien would have a problem with Jessica being around. He had never acted controlling about things like that. Still, Sophia had naturally assumed she would spend the evening with him.

But then, she remembered how things were at the art room. Today was unexpectedly fun.

Painting together, laughing over random mistakes, listening to music and talking about everything and nothing at once.

She realized she genuinely enjoyed Jessica’s company.

And honestly, she had never really had a proper sleepover before.

She looked back at Jessica who suddenly looked nervous.

Jessica laughed awkwardly. “Forget I asked.”

Sophia smiled. “No, it’s fine. You can stay.”

Jessica stared at her out of surprise.

“Wait… seriously?”

Sophia nodded and Jessica immediately gasped dramatically.

“Oh my God.”

Sophia laughed. “You’re acting like I just handed you ownership of the mansion.”

“This already feels close enough.”

Sophia shook her head while smiling. Soon, she stepped out briefly and found one of the maids.

“Please prepare one of the guest rooms.”

The maid nodded respectfully. “Yes, ma’am.”

Sophia thought for a second before adding with a smile, “And make it comfortable. We’re having a sleepover.”

The maid smiled slightly. “Understood.”

Soon, preparations started. Then another maid headed to prepare dinner while Sophia returned to Jessica.

Jessica immediately stood.

“So I’m really staying?”

Sophia nodded and Jessica looked genuinely excited.

“This is my first sleepover in years.”

“That’s amazing.” Sophia responded without saying hers.

That somehow made both of them laugh. Since there was still time before dinner, they moved downstairs and picked a movie to watch in the living room.

Soon, they were curled up comfortably on the large couch with snacks spread around. Jessica reacted dramatically to almost every scene.

Sophia laughed several times, then sometime later, the front door opened.

Sophia immediately turned only to see that Damien had arrived. He stepped inside while loosening his tie slightly before his eyes found Sophia.

Her face brightened instantly, then she stood and hurried over.

“Welcome back honey .”

Damien smiled faintly. Then she hugged him and kissed him softly.

He wrapped one arm around her and then Sophia remembered.

“Oh!” She exclaimed softly and turned towards Jessica.

“Damien, this is Jessica.”

Jessica immediately stood up while Damien walked over calmly. Jessica looked slightly nervous but smiled politely.

“Hello.”

Damien nodded politely and offered his hand.

“Nice to finally meet you.”

“Thank you for letting me visit.” She said as she shook his hand too.

Damien gave a small smile.

“You’re welcome.”

After that, Sophia followed Damien upstairs. Inside the room, Damien placed his things down while Sophia stood nearby.

“Jessica suddenly asked to stay overnight.”

That caught Damien’s attention and Sophia smiled slightly.

“I know it’s random but I’d really like it.”

Damien looked at her quietly before his expression softened.

“If it makes you happy, then it’s worth doing.”

Sophia smiled immediately. She walked over and kissed him.

“Thank you.”

Damien smiled faintly, then she turned happily.

“I’m going back before she starts the movie without me.”

Damien shook his head with amusement as Sophia hurried back downstairs. Soon, she returned to the living room where Jessica already had the movie paused dramatically.

Sophia sat down beside her and the movie night continued.

Eventually, one of the maids approached the living room.

“Dinner is ready.” She informed them.

Sophia immediately paused the movie and looked at Jessica while Jessica sat up ready.

“I forgot people in this house actually eat.”

Sophia laughed. “Oh, please. Come on.”

Soon, all three of them were close to the dining room.

Jessica slowed down slightly when she saw the setup. Although she had already eaten there earlier, sitting at the dining table with Sophia and Damien somehow felt different.

“Relax.” Sophia said, noticing Jessica’s demeanor.

Jessica nodded and sat. In no time, dinner started quietly.

The conversations were simple and mostly polite. Damien asked Jessica how she was adjusting to work.

Jessica answered properly and admitted she was still getting used to everything.

Sophia occasionally joined in and teased Jessica lightly.

At one point Damien asked calmly, “So, Sophia hasn’t scared you away yet?”

Jessica looked surprised before laughing.

“No. She’s actually very nice.”

Sophia looked offended. “Actually?”

Jessica grinned. “You never know with rich people.”

Sophia glared at her playfully while Damien quietly looked amused.

The atmosphere stayed comfortable with nothing intense or drama. Just peaceful conversation, good food, and occasional laughter.

After dinner, the maids cleaned up while Sophia led Jessica upstairs.

The room prepared for their sleepover looked warm and comfortable with soft lighting, blankets, snacks, and extra pillows arranged neatly.

Jessica stopped at the door.

“This is a guest room?”

Sophia laughed. “It’s normal.”

Jessica shook her head. “We clearly live different lives.”

Soon, both of them changed into comfortable sleepwear and settled onto the large bed. The lights stayed dim while they talked and the conversation drifted naturally.

They talked about their favorite movies, foods and things that they enjoyed.

Jessica admitted she liked baking but rarely had time while Sophia talked about painting and how relaxing it felt.

“Do you prefer mornings or nights?” Jessica asked randomly.

“Nights.” Sophia responded without thinking.

“Favorite color?”

Sophia answered immediately as well. It was fun and they laughed over small things.

At some point Jessica asked, “If you could disappear for one week and do anything, what would you do?”

Sophia thought deeply before she finally responded.

“Travel quietly somewhere.”

Jessica smiled. “Okay, cute.”

For a while, everything felt easy. Eventually, Sophia yawned.

“You’re sleepy.” Jessica said.

Sophia laughed. “A little.”

Jessica stretched too. “Me too.”

Soon they turned off the lights and settled into bed. Within minutes, the room became quiet.

Meanwhile, Damien stood on his balcony in his room. The night breeze felt cool against his skin as he looked over the city quietly.

After staying outside for some time, he eventually returned inside. He sat on the bed and turned on the television.

News played quietly in the background and about ten minutes later, he heard a knock.

Damien looked towards the door.

“Come in.”

The door opened and his expression changed slightly.

Jessica stepped inside. She had changed into sleepwear and she quietly closed the door behind her. Damien looked surprised.

His brows pulled together. “What are you doing here?”

Jessica looked at him for a moment, then without answering, she removed the outer layer of her sleepwear and stood there in clothing that was far more revealing than expected.
