I can't do anything else if you

I can't do anything else if you
The sun began to filter through the window curtains. Deanna slept on her husband's chest, and Daniel held her. The bed was a mess, the room was a mess.

The passion of being back together, the desire for that man, and the love they shared unleashed an uncontrollable wave of mouths, hands, and bodies touching, kissing, and connecting. Amid crude words, gasps, moans, and declarations of love, they had let all their feelings out. Deanna bore the marks of his fingers on her legs, and Daniel had a bitten lip from his wife.

But that insistent ray of sunlight hit her face directly, and she stretched out, annoyed. She felt comfortable and warm in his arms; Daniel moved too. For a moment, they remained awake but lethargic. Their skin still felt hot.

Deanna opened her eyes slowly and looked at his face, his disheveled hair, and the sparkle in his eyes that always made her feel sensual.

"Good morning," she whispered with a husky voice, still half asleep.

Daniel responded with a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Good morning."

She could feel the warmth of his body against hers, their bodies intertwined, her legs over his. And she didn't want to move. But the day kept appearing, and suddenly Deanna's stomach made a noise.

"Are you hungry?" Daniel asked.

"Mmmm..."

"But you ate half the menu last night," he said with a teasing tone.

"And it's a good thing I did, otherwise I wouldn't have had the fuel for everything you did to me."

He laughed heartily.

"I'll order breakfast."

He stretched his body a bit and sat up in bed, turning his back while he ordered room service. That expanse of skin also had marks, and Deanna smiled slyly, satisfied.

Unhurried, they headed to the bathroom and shared a shower, treating each other to gentle and patient caresses, as if wanting to relax their muscles and spirits.

"You were so wonderful at the theater last night," he said when they sat down to breakfast.

"Thank you... If you weren't with me, I couldn't have done it."

"You could have anyway."

"No... I can't do anything without you."

"Neither can I without you."

"Well, that means we're anchored to each other forever."

"I won't complain about that," he replied, smiling.

"You know? You make me happy," she said, looking into his eyes.

Daniel's chest tightened a bit.

"You are everything to me, Daniel. You are my knight, my husband, my best friend, and the love of my life. How do you do all that together?"

"Because I'm amazing?"

Deanna burst into laughter.

"I think it's just because you're you," she replied thoughtfully.

"Well, I think the same about you. You are my beautiful wife, the most vulgar woman I know, and the most erotic; you are the mother of my children and the most brilliant opera singer."

"I have many qualities, don't I?"

"Too many... But the most important thing is that you are what keeps me going, Deanna, and I love you."

The tenderness of that huge and imposing man was what she loved most about him; the security of showing her his vulnerabilities and overflowing with sweetness with just a few words.

Deanna crossed to the other side of the table, standing where Daniel was sitting, and he hugged her by the waist. He rested his face on the warm skin of her belly and sighed as his wife stroked his hair.

They had a whole path to travel together, a whole life to share and love. In each other's arms, everything seemed easier.
