Chapter 324

Stefan's POV

The heavy oak doors of my father's red room creaked loudly as I shoved them open with both hands.

The air inside smelled of old leather, cigar smoke, and decades of quiet corruption. Rows of dark mahogany bookshelves lined the walls, filled with thick leather-bound ledgers, encrypted hard drives, and private financial files that had been kept hidden from the public eye for over thirty years.

Two state department officers stepped into the doorway behind me, their hands resting on their sidearms.

"Sir, you cannot be in here," the senior officer said, his voice tense. "The Prime Minister's private office is off-limits to unauthorized personnel."

I turned on my heel, my cold eyes locking onto the officer with a look of pure, burning rage.

"I am the Prime Minister's son," I snarled, stepping directly into the officer's space until our chests almost touched. "Move."

The authority in my voice made both men freeze. They exchanged a brief, uneasy look, slowly backed out of the room, and pulled the heavy doors shut behind them.

I turned back to the massive desk sitting in the center of the room. My fingers moved rapidly, pulling open file cabinets, flipping through years and years of transaction logs, dark offshore accounts, and classified state department receipts.

As my eyes scanned the black ink on the white pages, my stomach twisted into a violent, sickening knot.

Thousands of innocent families had been affected. Billions of dollars had been funneled through dark government channels to finance illegal weapons deals, black-market research, and off-the-grid military operations. My father had built his entire political empire on the shattered lives of ordinary citizens, covering up murders, land seizures, and medical cover-ups to keep his power intact.

My anger burned so hot I could feel it in my throat. I gathered the thickest financial files, slammed them into my leather briefcase, and walked straight out of the building.

I drove directly to my father's personal financial director's office in downtown. I slammed the briefcase onto the director's glass desk, unceremoniously spilling the paper trails across his polished counter.

"Authorize compensation for every single family listed in these documents," I ordered, my voice trembling with suppressed rage. "Every dollar stolen, every family broken. Start transferring the funds immediately."

The financial director went pale as a sheet, staring at the documents in utter horror. Before he could even formulate a reply, the heavy satellite phone in my coat pocket began to buzz.

I pulled it out and answered.

"I heard you were running around in my private office," my father's calm, smooth voice echoed through the speaker. He was sitting in a high-security suite in New York, attending a global world trade conference. "Calm down, Stefan. We will talk about all of this when I get back."

"You are disgusting," I spat into the phone, my knuckles turning white around the receiver. "You ruined thousands of lives for power."

I hung up before he could answer, dropping the phone onto the desk.

Standing in the quiet office, the horrific truth finally made complete sense. I finally understood why Commander Dante had severed his ties with the government years ago. I understood why Nikolai, Dante, and Enzo had turned their backs on state authority to build their own syndicate. They were not the monsters. The men sitting in government office chairs were the real monsters.

I walked back to my car, pulled out my private mobile phone, and dialed Amanda's personal number.

She picked up on the second ring.

"Amanda," I said softly, leaning my head back against the leather seat of my vehicle. "I know you might not want to talk to me again after everything, but please... let me cover the cost of your research and all your medical bills."

Amanda let out a soft, quiet sigh over the line. "Give it to the thousands of people out there who actually need it, Stefan. You might not know this, but my parents are wealthy."

A small, genuine chuckle escaped my lips despite the heavy weight in my chest. On the other end of the line, I heard her break into a soft, warm smile.

"I miss you," I whispered softly into the receiver.

Amanda paused for a second, her voice carrying a playful spark. "Oh, really?"

"We never got to finish your bucket list," I said, a faint smile touching my lips as I remembered her list of wild dreams.

"Maybe we should catch up after my treatment with Dr. Jamal," Amanda replied softly.

"Sure," I said smoothly, a light chuckle in my voice. "Just do not fall in love with him. And let me know if you need anything at all. I am pretty rich too, and I can come meet you within a few hours at most."

Amanda smiled. "I will ask Nina to come with me."

"Good idea," I said, my tone growing gentle and sincere. "I will make sure you have fresh fruits and flowers by your bedside all the way."

I quieted down as her name left my mouth. Deep down, I did not like the fact that Nina was always surrounded by those three dangerous men—Nikolai, Dante, and Enzo. Yet at the exact same time, after seeing the rot inside my father's administration, I trusted those three men far more than I trusted my own blood.

I ended the call with Amanda, looking down at my phone. My thumb hovered over Commander Dante's direct satellite number.

My hand hesitated over the screen. A dark, painful dilemma gripped my heart.

If I gave Dante these files, my father's entire political world would collapse in flames. He would face an international tribunal or a quiet execution.

What will become of my father? I thought, staring at the screen in absolute silence.
