CHAPTER 7

TERRIBLE STORM

It was only 6 months, that a terrible storm came. The velocity of that storm was very strong. Sajan’s house was destroyed in that storm. Everything was destroyed in the storm. Many people of the village were killed in the storm. But everyone was alive in Sajan’s house, only the house was broken. All his wealth was spent in the same house, which is now destroyed. The homes of many people were completely destroyed in the storm. Those who lived in the huts, they were not even aware of where their house was. Due to the storm, hut’s was destroyed in the wind. Big buildings got buried in the ground. Crops were destroyed in the fields. There was an atmosphere of sorrow all around in the entire village. People did not have enough to eat. Many people started starving. People did not even have clothes to wear. Many people started stealing. The plunder had increased a lot. People started committing violence. There was an atmosphere of fear all around. Sajan’s three-storey house was completely destroyed. The houses of big landlords were also destroyed. Screams of people crying were heard all around.

On the other hand, some people called it the misfortune of all. Some people had lost faith in God. On the other hand some people had increased faith in God. People were praying to God to get them out of this trouble. They were urging God to perform miracles in their lives.

Then everyone became more afraid. The captain of the ship said that all the boats are there, get them into the sea quickly. This was done.

But only 12 people boarded the boat. I had also boarded the boat. But before other people got into the boat, that sea ship started sinking in the water from behind. On sight, the ship was half submerged in a few minutes. Now a merchant shouted loudly from that ship. He had a big and heavy box in his hand. The merchant was 6 feet. He keeps the box aside with his hand. And shakes hands to save it. A boy brought the boat to his sea and brought it to him. The person threw the boxes in the boat first and then jumped himself.

Now we were trying to get away from the ship. The ship had sunk three quarters. All those who were alive reached the front of the ship. Heavy goods were brought quickly to the front end of the ship. But within the next 30 seconds the ship sank completely. All people were killed in that. But now the stormy winds started coming down. Our boat had also reached that island. We were 13 survivors. The storm had calmed down. Now we were on an island. There were many trees on the island. There Timber trees were spread far and wide.

There were coconut trees nearby. Everyone reached those trees. One had the experience of climbing a coconut tree. So he broke the coconut from that tree for everyone. We all quenched our thirst by drinking that coconut water. The person who broke the coconut broke 15–20 coconuts and filled them in a big bag. Now we had to first arrange food for ourselves.

Some of us were vegetarian and some were non-vegetarian. So all the people got divided into 2 groups. 5 people went inward into the forest on that island. We 8 people decided that we will catch and eat fish. The man with the big box also started going in the forest. He handed over the box to me and said that he would come back and take it from me. Me and he put that heavy box aside. We all now got back to our work.

We were the first to catch the prawns. We filled these prawns in a bag. We took out some zingoes to make fish bait. We put those zingoes in 2 fish hooks separately because we had only 2 fish hooks left. I took a fish hook in my hand and went into the water a little bit. Stood in the water for a while. I put a shrimp in the fish hook. When after a while the water had completely calmed down, a bunch of fish came forward to eat the prawn. One of those fish got stuck in my fish hook. I quickly took it out and put it on the ground. This is how I caught the first fish. Similarly, I and my partner caught many fish.

We buried some fish in the ground and roasted some on fire. The food was ready in a while. All 8 of us ate it.

On the other hand, one of the people who went inside the forest on the dope had found some banana flakes. Some picked up dried coconuts lying on the ground. They also got enough food. Now those people were coming back from the forest to the shore of Dindeep. when all of a sudden

A poisonous snake bitten the person who gave me that box. The snake was green in color. That was very dangerous. The remaining people picked him up and brought him to the shore.

There was a person in our middle who was suffering from a disease, so he had some injections which he used to apply on his own. I saw him doing this a while back.

I asked the person where he had thrown the injection, so he told me by pointing the hand – there it is. I ran and went there and I saw an injection. I picked up that injection. I broke the injection needle and threw it. I put the injection where the snake bitten. I started bleeding from there with the help of injection. I took the blood out of the injection 4–5 times. Now immediately, where the snake bite, tied a bandage over it so that poisonous blood does not spread throughout his body.

None of us knew about wild medicine on snake bite. So we were unable to do anything. We were hundreds of miles away from hospitals. Spent 2 hours. Now the condition of the man bitten by the snake had worsened. He called me and said – you have tried to save me. I want to reward you by going to it.

He continued – I have a box. There is billions of rupees of gold and precious treasure in that box. I am a marauder. I have earned all this wealth by robbing people. I was running away from my friends with this money. But God has punished me. I want you to take this money. Keep the fourth part of it with you. This money will not end up spending too much for your seven generations. Distribute three-fourths of it back to the poor people.

The man died as soon as he said this.

Now we were left with only 12 people. But the weather was worsening. The storm was about to return.

But some people said that it is very dangerous to stay on this island. They had already heard this. So we should leave soon.

All the people said to me, hide the same thing in the treasure box and when the weather is good, then come back and take it. I obeyed him. I hid that treasure in a cave.

All of us had now prepared to leave that lamp. We took some coconut, some banana flakes, and some prawns in the boat “for the way”.

We have all landed in the sea now. We had just traveled 15 mills, then the storm was back. Everyone held the boat firmly. But our fate was much worse that day. First of all the food items kept in the boat flew into the air.

It was a little late that there was darkness all around. It was not caused by a dark night, but because of the storm. There were clouds all around in the sky. It had started raining back. The boat was open so the water filled the boat. The boat was now about to sink with heavy weight. 2 people immediately jumped on the water after seeing this. But some people were continuously draining water from the boat. But the whole boat overturned due to the strong wind.

Now everyone was in the water. The strong wind pushed all the people far away. I held the boat tightly. On the other side of me was another man who was also holding the boat. We both straightened the boat and sat in it.

Those who were in the water disappeared on sight. The wind drove them away from us. Now there were only two people on the boat, so I did the work of running the boat, and that man did the work of draining the water.

After 2 hours of hard work, we got out of that storm. But right now, we could reach India only by operating at least 100 mill boats. We were hungry and thirsty. But now we had nothing.

The person with me drank a little saline water from the sea. In a short period of time, he started vomiting. After 8 hours, his condition was critical. Now he too had died.

For the next 36 hours, I reached India. People took me to their house as soon as they reached there. People in India are very supportive nature. They gave me food and water. A few days later, he came back to his village.

Your grandmother also died after coming to my village. So I decided that I will never travel back to sea.
