Haula's POV:

Pain. That's all I feel now, the only thing I know.

I stand by the door as I watch him go again for the second time, but this time the only difference is that there are no lies.

Remembering how good it felt to have his lips on mine, while I touch my lips feeling so complicated at myself. I still love him that was for sure, but I didn't know what to do, I feel helpless.

Because there's a difference between liking someone and knowing if that someone is good for you.

Tears erupts from my eyes as I kneel down by the door and let them all come out. Maybe if I do let them out I would feel better, but no I don't, instead I feel something else.

Guilt.

Guilt that I have been too selfish to see what's been going on around here. I've been so selfish thinking about only myself and not also about Theo. He had a life, he had a life before he met me, a job, family and I can't just expect him to give it all up.

I've been so dumb thinking he didn't care for me, when all he'd had been doing is caring. He's right if he had told me where he worked I wouldn't have given him a chance, but I guess we are where we are for a reason.

He told me he loved me and he'll never stop fighting for me, how I wish he knew how much I love him too, but I am too selfish to tell him that.

I need to tell him I'm not going to give up on him, it’s because I love him so much that's why I feel hurt when he didn't call me, but I should have known being a soldier comes with sacrifice.

I want to know more about him, to hear all about him being in the army, how they work, the kind of training they go through, and the challenges he's faced. I want to know all.

I won't give up on him, I never will.

But, I can't deny the fact that he lied to me, rather he denied it. The door opens revealing my mom as she looks at me.

"Haula," My Mom comes standing in front of me seeing how miserable I have become.

"Look at you," Mom kneels over. "Look at what He's doing to you," Mom adds as I stare at her.

"It's not him mom, it’s me," I defend. Theo has done nothing wrong, it's me who fell for him.

"Stop it, look at yourself, you look miserable all because of him Haula, and now you're taking his side?" Mom says.

When I saw the messages Theo sent I was shocked, and Mom asked me so I couldn't lie to her anymore and I told her, I told her everything from the very beginning of how we didn't talk, when he left and the text he sent also with the fact that he is also a soldier.

Mom was furious that he could lie to her, but thinking about it now he didn't

actually lie. I guess he knew my Mom more than I do that she would never in her lifetime let her daughter be with someone that his life is constantly at risk.

"No mom, I was hurt and I never picked any side, I never made any decision that day," That's true I never told her I was going to stay away from him or ignore him. I never even said anything about it I just cried.

Seriously when did I turn to someone who just cried every time and I talk about Maggie crying a lot. I'm worse.

"Anything you say, but I have made my decision, as your mother I don't want to see him here or anywhere around you, and I also don't want you to be with him anymore."

"No no, you can't do that, please, please Mom."I beg. She can't do this. No.

"That is my decision Haula, unless you want to disobey me." Her voice heightens as she opens the door.

"I love him, I love him so much Mom, unless you also don't care about your daughter. Please mom. It’s not his fault,"

"It’s not his fault?" she closes the door and comes out to me again. "He could have decided to tell you, but he didn't, and you say it’s not his fault? What has he done to you?" She asks annoyed.

"So it's all because of his lie now?" I ask.

"Weren't you crying so badly because he lied to you?" She proves.

No that's not the only reason. I cried because I loved him and it looked like he didn't care, but that was before I knew more.

"I'm sorry I cried to you, I'm sorry I'm in such a mess Mom, I'm really sorry for causing you problems, but I beg you he is the only man that I have ever loved. Please mommy, I just need you to believe me on this one." I beg her hoping she will.

"I can't see you get hurt anymore Haula, I'm sorry and don't try to argue with me anymore, my decision is final. I don't want you anywhere near Theo McCall." And my world crumbles just like that.

Theo’s POV:

What have I done? I've ruined everything, every good thing I had with Haula, it’s all gone including the one I had with her Mom.

I get to the base after seeing Lisa's unending calls. I never picked any of them, as I am too busy drowning in my misery which is so unprofessional.

"I have been calling you, why didn't you pick up?" Lisa bombards me as soon as I head inside.

"Nothing," I say going past her, but she holds my arm.

"No, no, no, no, Mr. bad boy, you're not going anywhere, you're going to sit your ass down and explain to me why you didn't pick up the phone and what the hell happened." She drags me to sit.

"Look Lisa its nothing okay? Let's just get over to getting Vladimir,"

"Since when did you care about only Vladimir, before you left here you wanted to go and see Haula and judging by your attitude things didn't go well, so spill and shut up, don't tell me it’s nothing cause I swear Captain I will torture you for disobeying a command from a lieutenant, am I clear?"

Wow! Did Lisa just order me? I would have laughed right now, but I'm not in the mood. She just gave me an order and as a soldier, it is my duty to fulfill an order.

"Yes sir," I respond as a smirk appears on her face as I joined her and we both laugh.

"Look at you doggie," She hits my arm as she chuckles.

"What? you were being all super soldier on me." I chuckle beforeour voice seemed to go down.

"Now I need you to tell me what happened," She asks more seriously. "Yeah." I begin to tell Lisa everything that happened over at Haula's.

"I messed everything up Lisa, I did big time." Lisa looks at me with pity all over her face. No its not pity it’s something else. Or is it?

"No don't think like that, you haven't messed up anything, does she know what length you've gone to come back? Does she know how depressed you were over the week all because of her?" Lisa asks and I nod no.

"You see that's it, she needs to know even if you won't tell her, she needs to know. And what did I say about I being here to help you. I got you Theo, everything will be alright." Lisa speaks.

"No it won't, her Mom practically hates me, what am I going to do about that?" Truthfully I can’t get Haula if her mom doesn't want us to be together.

"Well I'll talk some sense into her," Lisa demands.

"No Lisa, she's Haula's Mom okay? You can't go on being super soldier with her, please." I ask her which she nods in agreement.

"Yeah fine," Her mood changes.

"Lisa, are you okay?" I ask her as her expression starts to darken.

"I know it’s not the right time but there's someone you should meet," She stands up indicating I follow her.

"What is it Lisa?" I still ask but she doesn't respond and only keeps walking.

We stand by the board room door as she looks at me in pity. "Lisa what's going on?" I ask her before we enter.

"He called me, and he said there's a huge problem," Lisa explains.

"What are you talking about? Who is he?" I ask her perplexed as she opens the door and there stand Matt, and someone facing his back at me. I can't tell who it is, but his back views familiar.

"Hello Theo," And he turns to face me. "Derek?"
