Chapter 52 Our Dad Ran Away with Another Woman

"But Dad is very scary. Roy, I'm too scared to call him," Wendy thought of Austin's cold face and felt terrified.

She felt that if she lived with Austin for a long time, she would become depressed.

Roy thought for a moment and said, "Swap with Ariel right away."

"What? Now?"

"Who is in the villa? Tell me where they are. It's easier to swap now. It won't be as easy tomorrow." Roy thought for a moment and said, "Sneak out and go to the entrance of the villa area. The security should know Ariel."

"Okay. I can finally be with Mommy again!" Wendy was very happy. After the blood transfusion, Ariel would need to rest in the hospital for a few days, so Wendy could take a few days off.

In the past two days, Wendy secretly took Queenie's weight loss pills. The effect was obvious. Although she wasn't as weak as Ariel, she was no longer a chubby girl. She thought, 'I finally lost weight. Mommy's medicine is really amazing.'

After hanging up the phone, Roy woke up the just-asleep Ariel and told her about his conversation with Wendy.

Ariel nodded drowsily, "Roy, I'll listen to you."

Roy helped Ariel put on her shoes. "The lights in Mommy's room are already off. Now is the best time."

The two children sneaked out of the house and got into the elevator. Before they could breathe a sigh of relief, a couple asked, "It's very late. Why are you going out? Where are your parents?"

Roy had a backpack on his back and wore a baseball cap, looking cool and handsome. The couple couldn't help but want to talk to him.

Ariel wore a mask and snuggled in Roy's arms, looking fragile.

What cute children!

Roy said, "Our mommy is working overtime at the company. I'm taking my little sister to find her."

The woman asked in surprise, "What? What about your dad?"

"We don't have a dad. Our dad ran away with another woman."

Ariel did not speak.

…

While accompanying Derek and Mary in the hospital, Austin suddenly felt uneasy and shivered.

Sam handed Austin his coat. "Mr. Lewis, don't catch a cold."

…

In the elevator, the woman became angry after hearing Roy's words. She grabbed the man's arm, tears filling her eyes. "See, an irresponsible man can cause so much harm to a child." They almost divorced for similar reasons. Later, the woman chose to forgive the man for the sake of their child.

Roy's words resonated with the woman. "It's not safe for you to go find Mommy at this late hour. We'll take you there, alright?"

"Thank you, but there's no need. We're used to it."

The elevator doors finally opened, and Roy pulled Ariel out. They could hear the couple arguing behind them, the woman blaming the man for his past mistakes.

Roy didn't know what to say.

Ariel did not speak.

Roy thought, 'If Mommy and Austin would argue like this too, they'd better not be together. It's too painful. So, we need to find a way to make Austin leave his mistress and willingly return to our home.’

…

Moonlight Villa.

Wendy got dressed and carried a large backpack filled with food.

She waited for Roy and Ariel a few hundred feet away from the property.

The backpack was too heavy.

Wendy put the backpack down on the ground. Because she was trying to lose weight, her stamina was not enough to carry snacks. She found dieting too painful.

After about ten minutes, Wendy finally saw Roy and Ariel. They walked hand in hand toward her. Wendy ran toward them excitedly.

"Wendy!" Roy and Ariel called out simultaneously.

"Ariel, you should go home now. Wendy and I are leaving," Roy told Ariel. "When you get home, call Austin and tell him you're not feeling well and ask him to come back as soon as possible."

Roy felt that Austin shouldn't always be with his mistress. If he continued like this, even his children would grow to despise him.

Ariel nodded. "I will." After all, she really did look unwell.

"Wendy." Ariel and Wendy embraced. "You look like you've lost weight."

Wendy laughed and happily twirled around. "How about that? Am I beautiful?"

Roy didn't say anything.

Ariel spoke naively, "You're beautiful. You're the most beautiful."

Wendy pinched Ariel's cheeks. "If I'm beautiful, Ariel is beautiful too."

Ariel laughed, which was rare.

She felt happy being with Roy and Wendy. She didn't want to be separated from them. But they hadn't succeeded yet, so they still had to try harder.

Roy noticed the black bag on the lawn and curled his lips.

He thought, "If Wendy loves to eat so much, she couldn't possibly succeed at losing weight."

Suddenly, a bright light flashed. A black Maybach drove into the neighborhood. The three kids were startled and instinctively hid in the bushes.

In the chaos, Ariel tripped on the grass. Roy saw Ariel fall and ran back to help her up.

Wendy turned around to run over, but she saw the Maybach stop. She didn't have time to think and continued to hide behind a tree.

"Ariel?"

Austin immediately helped up the fallen Ariel. "What are you doing here? Are you hurt?"

Roy couldn't escape and could only lower his head, looking at Austin's shoes. He glanced up slightly and noticed Austin's trousers. He thought, ’He is indeed elegant, possessing the qualifications to become scum.’

"I, I..." Ariel wanted to cry but didn't know what to say.

Roy said, "Hello, I am Ariel's classmate. She hasn't been to school in a long time, so I came to visit her. I took the wrong road, so I arrived here late."

Ariel said, "Yes, Daddy. I told you that many people in school really like me."

Austin held his daughter and looked at the boy in front of him. The boy wore a hat, and Austin couldn't see his face clearly, but his voice was calm, and he seemed cool, not like a bad kid.

However, Austin was on high alert. He thought, "What does this little boy want with my daughter?"

In the end, he politely said, "It's late. I will have someone send you back. If you want to see Ariel in the future, you can call me. Ariel's health is not good and can't be disturbed all the time."

Austin thought, ’If you want to get close to my daughter, you have to ask for my opinion. Don't think you can play tricks on me!’ He would not agree. Ariel was not yet grown up. Even when she had already grown up, Austin didn’t want other men to get close to her.

Roy turned away coldly, ignoring Austin's words.

When Ariel saw Roy leave, she wanted to cry.

Austin felt that it was unsafe for a child to go home alone, so he carried Ariel and caught up to Roy. "Boy!"

Roy turned his head and coldly said, "What?"

Austin froze. He felt like he had seen this little boy before. He used to be this cool and cold when he was a child.

"If you don't want me to send you home, you can call your parents to come pick you up. That way, you won't be in trouble."

Roy rolled his eyes. He thought, ’It's because of a father like you that I became a child wandering in the middle of the night.’

"When I was born, my dad was lured away by another woman. He abandoned me. My mom raised me alone," Roy said coldly. "I'm used to being alone. You don't need to worry."

Austin didn't say anything. He felt as if his heart had been stabbed.

Wendy, hiding behind a tree, covered her mouth, afraid that she wouldn't be able to control herself as Austin discovered the black bag and picked it up.

Ariel and Roy were both stunned.

Wendy felt like crying.

She thought, "I've had such bad luck tonight."

As she was getting excited, she bumped into a tree, making a loud noise.

Austin didn't know what had happened.

Ariel didn't know what to do.

Roy didn't have anything to say.
