Chapter 7 On My Dime

Chapter 7 On My Dime
Sloane’s POV

Everything in me froze as he kissed me.

Still, Malik did not stop kissing me. In fact, my shock gave him all the motivation that he needed to delve in deeper into my mouth.

Everywhere was hot and cold at the same time.

I was in the middle of processing everything when he put his tongue into my mouth, biting my lower lip and urging me to suck on his tongue.

My brain told me to push him away, but I welcomed his tongue, sucking on it like a vice.

Malik sat on the floor and pulled me on top of him, his hands roaming around my waist.

Just then, I began to hear voices in the dressing room.

“Wow, they really are in love.” Someone said,

“He can’t even keep his hands to himself. Sloane must be so lovely.” Another person said.

Before I knew it, I began to hear the clicking of different cameras. The lights pointed in our direction.

All the while they took the pictures, Malik’s hand did not stop roaming around my waist as he kissed me senselessly. If I wasn’t fake dating him, I would have mistaken this for a real kiss.

His lips were soft, and he was so good at kissing.

Arthur and I had dated for a long time, but he’d never kissed me this way. It felt like someone lit fireworks in my brain.

My whole body felt hot. I wanted to direct Malik’s lips down to my neck so that he could continue kissing me there, but something snapped in my head.

I pulled away, immediately.

Getting up to my feet very quickly.

Malik remained there, seated on the floor while I stood, observing him. My heart was beating quickly and it was evident in the steady rise and fall of my chest.

I tore my gaze away from him immediately, throwing his jacket around me tighter before I made my way out of the dressing room.

“I can’t select any more dresses. Just give me the ones you think will look good on me.” I told the stylist as soon as my eyes landed on her in the hallway.

“Alright, Ms. Sloane. Follow me.”

I walked behind her back into the dressing room.

Now, Malik was now standing, wiping his lip with the back of his palm, my gloss shining on it.

I could not meet his eyes.

Not after what we had done.

The both of us sat on the couch in silence while the stylist sorted through the tons of clothes until she found three that fit me perfectly.

“Ms. Sloane, I think you should wear this. It’ll fit you perfectly.” She said, handing me a blue dress.

“I trust your judgment. Just pack everything up. I don’t have it in me to wear another dress please.” I shook my head and she nodded, walking away.

In no time, the dress was packaged.

I didn’t see when it was getting paid for, and I was quite confused. I didn’t ask any questions so that none of this looked suspicious.

I made a mental note to speak about it once we got back to Malik’s mansion.

Malik placed a hand on my waist as he urged me into this Mercedes Benz.

Brenda said it was supposed to be an intimate moment, and so we didn’t use a driver.

The drive back to his mention was a very quiet one. From time to time, I could feel Malik turning his face to look at me. He wanted to speak, but I was not giving him leeway to do that.

Not wanting to have any form of conversation with him, I pulled out my phone and began to toggle between random apps.

I shut my eyes, and I felt his hand snaking around my waist. I felt him pulling me closer to deepen the kiss. I felt him giving me his tongue. I felt all the feels.

I snapped my eyes open immediately, turning to look at him.

At that moment, I caught him looking at me too.

My lips parted open to speak, but I shut them immediately, turning back to the window to look out.

Immediately he pulled up to the garage in his mansion, I picked up all the dresses he got for me, forcefully opening the door before slamming it shut and walking away.

I dropped the dresses on the bed in my room, heading quickly to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

Halfway through downing the content of the glass, I heard footsteps shuffling into the kitchen.

I dropped the glass on the counter quietly and made my way to the exit when I slammed into his hard body.

“Ouch” I cried out.

“Are you okay?” He asked, concern etched on his face.

Avoiding his gaze, I nodded very quickly, sliding to the side so that I could walk away quickly, but he placed a hand on my wrist.

“Sloane, did I do something wrong?” He asked me when he noticed that I would not even speak to him.

I yanked my wrist from his grip, taking a step back.

“You know you had no right to kiss me at the designer store without my permission, yeah?” I finally asked him.

I watched him swallow a lump that formed in his throat.

“Are you kidding me? I literally saw how embarrassed you looked when you had that wardrobe malfunction. I was simply helping you.”

“I didn’t ask you to!” I snapped.

He looked at me with disbelief, shaking his head.

“You know they could have come in there and seen you in that state, right?”

“I still did not ask for your help. Even if you wanted to help me, did you have to kiss me?”

“We’re dating, Sloane. I can kiss you whenever.”

“Fake dating. We are fake dating and you can’t kiss me whenever.” I shook my head.

It wasn’t supposed to be this serious.

“You know what?” he raised his hands in submission. “It’s fine. If you’re ever in a situation like that, I’ll do nothing to help. Like you said, I’ll leave you be. I’ll simply shrug and walk away.” He said, not even bothering to look at me.

He took two steps away when he paused and turned to look at me.

“I’m very sorry for helping, Sloane.”

Those were his last words before he left me standing there.

All of a sudden, I felt like a terrible person.

Being pissed about the kiss did not warrant me to speak to him in that manner.

My throat felt dry all of a sudden.

I made my way back to the counter where the half-empty glass of water I drank was.

I was drinking from the glass when Malik walked back into the kitchen.

“Malik I….”

“Also, Sloane, as much as I hate this arrangement, don’t ever feel like you have to pay for anything. Whatever you want is on my dime. I’m your fake boyfriend.” He said, cutting me off.
