Chapter 171:The Birth Of Extraordinary Twins

Chapter 171:The Finale: Extraordinary Twins
Three years later…
“My Queen, you truly need to slow down,” Star pleaded gently as she hurried beside Lucy through the palace gardens. “You are only weeks away from giving birth to your twins. Any of the royal guards could have taken Prince Kenneth Junior to the playground.”
Queen Lucy smiled, one hand instinctively supporting her heavy abdomen while the other kept hold of her three-year-old son, who bounced excitedly beside her. Pregnancy had taken more from her this time — carrying twins was no small task — yet her resolve had not dimmed.
“Thank you, Star,” Lucy said softly, a hint of fatigue in her voice, “but you know I only feel at ease when I’m near my boy. My heart refuses to rest otherwise.”
Before Star could argue further, a familiar voice cut through the air — firm, maternal, and unmistakably worried.
“Lucy, my child.”
Lucy turned and froze.
“Auntie… Mom… Mother!”
Margaret, Queen Mara, and Queen Liza stood a short distance away, their expressions a mixture of relief and concern. They had just returned from Badosa, having gone there for Queen Margaret’s baby’s first outing — an event that had been long awaited and joyfully celebrated in the magical realm.
Despite human notions of age, Margaret and King Pontionne had been blessed with a daughter, a miracle that still left many in awe. Little Lanah had instantly wrapped everyone around her tiny fingers — most especially her older brother, Lance.
Lucy waddled forward instinctively, joy lighting her face, only for all three women to shout at once.
“Slow down!” “Lucy!” “Careful!”
She laughed breathlessly, stopping herself just in time.
“Oh, my baby girl,” Queen Mara scolded gently as she pulled Lucy into a careful embrace. “You truly refuse to stop being hands-on, even with a kingdom full of servants and guards at your command.”
Lucy smiled. “Some things power can’t replace, Mother.”
Her eyes darted around eagerly. “Auntie, where is my little cousin? Where’s Lanah?”
Margaret chuckled knowingly. “Sleeping inside the castle. Don’t worry — you’ll meet her as soon as she announces herself.”
Lucy laughed, nodding in understanding. “Oh, she must be very good at announcing herself. Kenny still holds the crown on that one.”
As if summoned by the comment, Kenneth Junior squealed happily in the distance, already making his presence known to the entire garden.
That evening, the palace came alive.
Tables were added again and again as guests continued to arrive. Laughter echoed through the halls. Kingdoms reunited. Old friendships rekindled. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation — not just for the birthing ceremony, but for what it represented.
Hope.
Two days later, the ceremony began.
Caravans flooded the Western Kingdom. Temporary dwellings stretched across the land, accommodating lions from every corner of the realms. The palace grounds were alive with movement, colour, and reverence.
Security was flawless.
The four brothers once hired as assassins now stood as protectors of the realm, operating under Deven’s leadership. With Thomas having moved to the Eastern Kingdom alongside his mate, Nelly, Deven now served as second-in-command. Malcolm, finally relieved of duty, stood proudly beside his best friend, King Kenneth Paige the Twelfth.
Thomas Kane, now Interim King of the Eastern Kingdom, ruled in honour of his mate, Nelly Barot, who had chosen to cultivate her immense magical gifts rather than take the throne herself.
Former kings of the West, East, and North reunited — laughing like warriors once more. King Pontionne of Badosa stood among them, divine and timeless, preparing to soon hand over his crown to Prince Lance.
Lance himself had just returned from Europe, where he had spent years training — sent away to heal from the pain of accepting that Lucy was not his mate. The time away had changed him. He returned stronger… and with news that he had finally found his own destined mate abroad.
Everything had come full circle.
Then—
A sharp scream pierced the celebrations.
Guards tensed. Warriors shifted.
Until Queen Liza’s voice rang clear and triumphant.
“It is time!”
Lucy was swiftly escorted to the birthing chambers, prepared well in advance within the Western Kingdom palace— on the land she ruled as Queen.
As labour intensified, the palace grew unnaturally quiet. Too quiet.
Thoughts began to press in from every direction — worry, fear, hope, anticipation — until Lucy snapped.
Her roar thundered through the mass mind link.
“Would you all kindly shut your thoughts this instant! I am the one in labour — with two enormous babies — and you are giving me a splitting headache!”
Silence fell immediately.
Relief washed through her as minds hastily closed.
Time blurred.
Pain surged.
Then—
The drums sounded.
Once. Twice. Again.
The palace erupted.
An hour later, the doors opened.
Queen Mara and Queen Liza emerged, radiant and triumphant, each holding a bundled miracle.
“Meet Matthew Dave Paige,” Liza announced proudly, lifting the child. “Second son of King Kenneth Paige the Twelfth and Queen Lucy Foster-Paige.”
The hall exploded in cheers.
“Meet Lilian Ruth Paige,” Mara followed, smiling broadly. “First daughter of King Kenneth Paige the Twelfth and Queen Lucy Foster-Paige.”
The celebration intensified.
The boy cried — and transformed into a soft, shimmering jade cub.
Gasps echoed.
“A Jade Lion!”
Then wings unfurled from the little girl’s back, blazing with radiant power.
“A Phoenix Lioness!”
Kenneth’s hand tightened around Lucy’s as pride filled his chest. He looked at his wife — fierce, gifted, indomitable — and their extraordinary children.
Legacy secured. Hope restored. The Goddess answered.
As the celebrations reached their peak, Kenneth stepped forward with a grin.
“As a push gift,” he announced boldly, “I am buying my Queen a jet.”
Laughter and cheers thundered through the palace.
Lucy laughed — exhausted, fulfilled, victorious.
The past had been healed. The present was strong. And the future had arrived.
