Chapter 25 My Name is Khisa!

Greta looked towards Angela, placed her index finger on her lips, and shushed her,' "not so loud child."

Even though she had asked about her mother, the question had come out as an attempt to hide the anxiety she had and the fear she had gnawing at her insides. She almost ran to him but she control herself, held herself in a bid to give her arms something to do other than hug Zander; which was what her arms longed to be doing at that moment.

"She is safe but we cannot leave her there for long. I managed to mislead them into following the wrong path that will lead them opposite of where Celestine is currently placed."

"Take me to her, I want to see her," Angela said

"Not so fast princess, at the moment any attempt on our part to go anywhere near her would be suicidal, and we would be leading them straight to where she is," he said trying to make her understand the situation.

Greta, who had said nothing, came towards Zander her eyes glistening with unshed tears, How is my child?"

Zander, who understood the extent of Greta's emotions, did not say a word at first but went and took Greta in his arms and held her there while soothing her. He whispered something into her ears and she kept nodding as she listened. He kept holding her in his arms as she sobbed into his coat not letting go, he looked at Angela and saw the anxiety written all over her face and whispered something to Greta who let go of Zander and left the room hurriedly.

"What's happening is my mother okay?"

"Yes. For now she is but we need to make a move to bring her back or else Casper the evil move to bring her back or else Casper the evil emperor will find her and try summoning her by force." He said as he moved to stand by the windows.

Angela followed him and hesitated to join him, she stood a few steps behind him and asked him what he meant by saying that they had to make a move.

"I do not know how much you know about the reason why she had to sacrifice her life in the waking world but since it is not my place to tell you, I will touch on the details of how she need to be brought back. I understand you know Carita Bennett?" he asked avoiding looking at her.

"I would appreciate if you'd turn and talk to me as you look at me in the eye, I don't like talking to people's backs," she adamantly told Zander who seemed surprised but wiped the look as soon as it had appeared.

"Forgive me, I did not mean to be rude," he said to her and smiled but the smile did not reach his eyes.

Angela looked down to avoid his gaze, whenever he smile she would feel butterflies fluttering in her tummy, causing her heart rate top accelerate and her mind to lose focus. She looked at the curve at the corner of his upper lip that made him look so hands the way he was looking at her right now made her swallow a gulp without realizing and lick her lips. Her core started to throb and she tightened her knees trying to will her body to stop reacting to him. Without knowing how or when, she had moved near Zander, the scent she had smelt earlier was more prominent making her senses go wild. She was dripping wet, her panties were soaking wet and she could feel something warm dripping down her thighs.

As if in a trance, Zander moved towards Angela, her arousal was wrecking his senses and all he wanted to do was take her there and then.

The way she was looking at him made him growl with need, he took a step towards her and lifted her chin up so that she could look at him.

He liked the way her eyes glowed with need, he lowered his lips and just as he was about to kiss her the door opened and in came Greta. They both jumped apart quickly, the moment ruined but both grateful for the interruption.

"I was not gone for a minute and here you two are doing heaven knows what," she admonished them both but pointedly looked at Zander who lowered his head in shame. He could not believe that he was about to kiss Angela, she was still a minor and despite the fact that her arousal had gotten his brain warped, he should have controlled himself. He excused himself and went outside using the window, he did not want to be anywhere near Angela. His body was on fire with need and if he continued to stay, he would not be able to hold himself much longer. He did not know why but her scent was driving him crazy with need, it had been too long since he had his needs met. He remembered how he had met his mate a few years back only for her to be taken cruelly from this life by a stray arrow from the training fields.

He had gone berserk, how could fate be so cruel? Lolotia had been such a sweet, beautiful, kind and generous woman, he was about to build a life with her but just as they were starting, death came knocking. Zander headed towards where she was buried and lay his head on her tombstone, he felt like he was betraying her for having s****] feeling for Angela. He cried as he apologized, asking her to forgive him for being weak. When he was spent, he sat his head against the tomb and slept.

Back at the house, Greta took Angela’s hands, let her towards the bed, and asked her to sit down. She obeyed without asking questions but was not sure why all of a sudden she looked so serious like someone had died.

"Child, I know Zander is a handsome man and every girl in Grundolf dreams of being mated to him. I also understand that you may have feelings for him..." she did not get to finish the sentence.

"I don't have any feelings for him," Angela vehemently denied.

"Child, there is no shame in having a crush for a handsome man like Zander," Greta tried to reassure her.

"What's a crush?" she asked.

"It is when one feels attracted to someone and may even think they are in love," Greta said.

"That's not what I feel Greta," Angela said.

"What is it that you feel child?"

She did not immediately reply, she was thinking and just when Greta was about to give up on receiving an answer, Angela told her.

"I hate him actually but when I look at him I feel butterflies in my tummy and my heart starts thumping. I fear looking at him straight but feel like I want him to hold me in his arms. He has a nice curve on the upper lip that whenever he smiles, I just want to taste his lips. He also smells so nice, whenever he is near all I want to do is to be held in his arms. So do you see, I'm not crushing on him, I just feel things." She tried to justify her feelings.

"It is okay to feel those things child but they may be dangerous for you because as a man he may not be able to control himself if he smells your arousal. You are a beautiful girl, boys will come lining up hoping that you are mated to one of them and if you follow your body's urges at the moment, and you might find yourself regretting acting on them." She said hoping she would understand.

"How so?"

"The mate bond is a very special thing; the goddess gives each one of us a special person who is like our other half. Without a mate, one feels incomplete and when one finds their mate, they become whole. If you act on your desires right now, you will ruin a chance to share with your mate that special moment of knowing that you are both each other's first and last."

"Do you have one?"

"Yes, I do not know where he is. He was taken as a prisoner by the emperor's guards and up to this day, I do not know where he is. I can feel he is alive but his location remains a mystery," Greta said sadly.

Angela felt saddened by Greta's misery, she could see that the disappearance of her mate was painful for her. She took her in her arms and hugged her tight, "I promise to wait for my mate," she whispered.

"Thank you, now we need to find a way for you to go to your mother without the guards following you."

She said changing the subject, all the grief of a moment ago covered with a determination to find and bring back Celestine. Angela took a moment longer to switch from her emotions but as she watched Greta's determination to change the subject, she nodded and asked her how they would be able to sneak past the palace guards to where Zander had taken her mother.

"Zander said tonight it could not be done," she said.

"I know child, tonight would not be good for either of us to go to her."

"What then? When is the best time to go?" she asked anxious to go and meet her mother in the waking world. She was also anxious that she may turn out not to like her, or even want to be near her. The woman was so beautiful that compared to her, Angela felt inadequate.

"Zander would know when it is best, let's trust his instincts," Greta replied her mind elsewhere. She was thinking of carter, her mate.

How she longed to be with him, it had already been more than fifteen years since the day he had been captured and everyday was painful.

She did not want to dwell on thought of her mate, she shook her head to clear her mind and asked Angela to rest so that they would regroup in the morning to plan, hoping Zander would be present.

At the mention of his name, Angela's heart skipped a beat.

It was difficult as it was impossible to control his image from invading her mind, she longed for him, and even though what Greta said was making sense, she doubted how much she would be able not to think of him constantly as she always did. He had become like a disease that refused to leave her mind, every waking moment she thought of him, longed to see him and longed to be near him. It was a long shot but she wished he were her mate.

"Maybe he is, "a voice said.

She looked at Greta but she seemed to be far off in her thoughts, she reached out to Mizpah and asked, "Why do you say so?"

"What are you talking about princess?"

"What you just said about Zander"

"I've not spoken to you"

"What? Who did?"

"I did," the voice spoke again; Angela realized that it spoke like a girl while Mizpah had a deeper voice.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"My name is Khisa and I am your wolf!"
