Chapter 54 A Queen Among Tides: Chapter Fifty-Four - Lemuel
“I’m sorry about that,” Sebastian apologises.

I shrug, “I’m getting rather used to the crazy antics of you and your best friend. I find them rather amusing. Plus, I think I can risk a little nudity in exchange for knowing I was so missed and cared for.”

“No one will ever care for you or miss you as much as I did,” Sebastian says as he holds me tighter in his arms and buries his head against my shoulder.

I rub his arms and kiss the top of his head, “That’s how I feel about you.”

After a nice relaxing bath free of any more interruptions, we get out and take a few minutes to trim our unruly beards. Both of our beards have grown out a bit in the last week, and I can’t speak for Sebastian, but I never let mine get this long. I always prefer my beard to be so short it almost appears painted on.

“Do you have any razors?” I ask.

He looks at me in confusion, “I just put one in front of you.”

“No, I mean a real razor, not this modern plastic crap.”

“You’ve been using the modern-day crap since you arrived here.”

“It sufficed in order to do basic maintenance, but now I need a little bit more than that and a straight razor works best,” I explain.

“You still use those?” He asks in surprise.

“Of course, they allow me to have such clean edges.”

“That explains it. I always wondered how you got your beard so neat. Sorry to say, I don’t have that kind of razor, but I can have the staff bring you one for future use,” he says, planting a shaving cream kiss on my cheek.

I smile and wipe away the residue, “Thank you.”

We finish getting cleaned up and return to the bedroom to find clothes laid out just as Eisa promised. That woman deserves more credit than she probably gets because she has selected attire that fits our styles perfectly. For me, she’s chosen brown loafers, brown slacks and a teal dress shirt, while for Sebastian she selected black leather ankle boots, denim skinny jeans with tattered ends, and a navy blue, short-sleeved Ralph Lauren polo shirt with white cuffs and trim collar.

Once we’re dressed, Sebastian fixes his hair in the mirror, and I take a moment to admire his perfect physique. I’ve never been a fan of jeans regarding personal use, but on Sebastian, I definitely love them. The way they hug the curvature of his ass and even give it a bit more lift as if to place it on a pedestal for my eyes to admire, is something I definitely appreciate. His shirt is tight enough to showcase his biceps and accent every muscle in his torso, from his broad back, his firm pecks, and his never-ending abdominals. I still can’t quite fathom that this extraordinary creature is mine.

I walk over and slide my hand over his ass giving it a firm squeeze as I place a gentle kiss on his neck and listen to his intake of breath.

“You know, seven days is a long time to not be close to one another,” I murmur against his neck.

“Well, at least I still got to molest you in your sleep,” he muses.

I chuckle against his neck as I pepper sweet kisses up to his ear and slowly suck his earlobe into my mouth, “Mmm are you saying you want me to stop touching you?”

“Fuck no,” he says, taking a breath as he turns and captures my face pressing his lips firmly against mine.

My hands run up his back, gliding up under his shirt, caressing the planes of his back as I devour his lips. His sweet groans of delight give the signal for my dick to begin hardening as I envision being buried inside him. His hands travel down my neck leaving trails of electrical tingles in their wake as he starts unbuttoning my shirt while backing me up against the bedroom bench. The back of my knees give out as I plop down onto it and look up at my gorgeous man. If I were to ever believe someone could be a gift from the Gods, Sebastian would be it.

My hands travel up his chest as I look up into his cerulean eyes. He looks down at me, his thumb softly caressing my cheeks reassuring my body and soul that he is here with me and me with him. He leans down and plants a soft kiss on my forehead, cheeks and then lips.

“Don’t ever leave me again,” he whispers, causing my heart to clench.

“I don’t ever want to leave you. I know now my soul would die without you,” I say in earnest as I slide my hands around the back of his neck.

His lips once again find mine, but our kisses turn sweet and tender. Loving caresses that heal the tears in our souls from our recent ordeal. Each brush of his lips seals another tear and I feel myself coming together again. Sebastian has been healing me since the day we met, and I know he’ll continue to heal me for the rest of my days.

“I thought loving you only to one day lose you would be an agony I couldn’t live with, but now I realise, living a life having never known what it felt like to love you and be loved by you, that would be the true agony,” I confess, our eyes locking once again.

Tears brim in my eyes and with gentle movements, Sebastian straddles me and wraps his arms tight around me, holding me so tight to his chest that I feel we could become one. I wrap my arms tight around him and breathe in his clean scent and place a gentle kiss on the hollow of his neck. I’ve been naked many times, and I’ve been naked several times with Sebastian, but I’ve never felt as truly exposed with him as I do now. He sees me. He sees my flaws, my shame and the ghosts I carry with me and still, he takes me in his arms and promises me nothing but love. It’s so unbelievable that I wonder if perhaps I’m still asleep. Maybe I never woke up after being pushed from that cliff, and if that’s true, then I hope to never wake up. I hope to stay forever by Sebastian’s side, even if it’s only a dream.

“I can feel you processing so many emotions,” Sebastian says softly.

I smile and caress his back, “You’ve brought many emotions into my life, my love. I think they’ll take some getting used to.”

“We have all the time in the world,” he vows, holding me tighter.

I wish that was true, but for now, I’ll take whatever time is granted to me. But in truth, not even an eternity would suffice.

An hour could have passed, and I wouldn’t know or care. Just sitting here, holding Sebastian like this, is enough to sustain me and make all my problems go away, but I’m a practical man, and even I know we can’t stay like this forever.

“We should go see your parents,” I say with a kiss.

He groans and holds me tighter, “Fuck ‘em.”

I chuckle, “Well, I’d rather fuck you if I’m honest, but we can always do that later.”

“Promise?” He asks excitedly.

My laugh only continues as I cup his face in my hand, “I promise to spend the rest of the evening bringing you pleasure.”

He takes a breath and leaps off my lap, “Well, come on then. Let’s get this over with,” he says, grabbing me by the wrist and yanking me off the bedroom bench.

“At least let me fix my shirt,” I protest, as he proceeds to pull me out of the room.

“Nudity is nothing new around here.”

I roll my eyes but manage to snatch my arm back. I quickly do up my shirt and tuck it in, then calmly take his hand in mine.

“As Prince, a little decorum wouldn’t kill you.”

“Decorum is overrated,” he snorts.

He guides me through the palace and leads me into a long two-story room. The second floor is framed by colonnades allowing the tranquil sound of the sea to enter the room, while they and the exquisite floor-to-ceiling window at the far end, both allow for streams of morning sun to shine through. It’s only now I notice the two large statues that flank two incredible and unique thrones that sit side by side on a platform in front of the window. This must be the throne room. It’s not as opulent as the other rooms in the palace, it’s far more demure, which is odd given what room this is. There’s a humbleness to it. As if to say this room is not about glamour and titles, but about what those titles represent. The room sings of tradition and honour, and I can’t help but feel honoured to be stepping into it.
